I purchased a 2015 Yamaha R1 from Southwest Cycles on 16 Jan 2016. I live in Ocala FL so I had to deal with them over the phone. I spoke with several people over several calls. Once I was given the sales persons name I would leave messages for him. While Bob was cool and nice they are in no hurry to get back to you regarding anything. I called Bob the morning of the 16th before I decided to take the 3+ hour drive from Ocala to Cape Coral to purchase the bike. I arrived at the shop around 2p and none of the paperwork was done (Just kind of annoying not a big deal). After getting the paperwork done they were kind enough to load the bike on my trailer and strap it down. Bob is a cool guy easy to deal with. My main gripe and reason for the three star rating is the following. They did not disclose that they only had one of the three keys the bike originally came with. One of the three keys that is missing is the one needed to program new keys for the bike. I probably would not have purchased the bike had I know that the entire ignition assembly will need to be replaced now because a new key can not be made for the bike. Not to mention someone in FL not only has a key to my bike but can program more of them if they wish. The last annoyance is that when I got home I realized they did not give me a temp tag (Bob called me on 2/11/16 stating that we had discussed this...I did not remember. Bob also told me they did not know about the key issue). When I called the following Tuesday when they opened I was told they did not think I needed one because the bike needed to get fixed before I could ride it. Not exactly the response I would expect. It is now one week after I purchased the bike and I still have no tag (I never did get a temp tag. As stated previously I did call and request a temp tag and was told that it would be sent...it was not). Chalk it up to my impatience or whatever. Make your own decision this is as objective I feel I can be. All in all the people are cool just seems a little unorganized. Having said all that the shop is nice when you do talk to someone they are nice and helpful and I would buy there again.

I am kinda upset. I think I have been discriminated against. I went to Southwest Cycle today to look at a used Road King I had seen on Craigslist. I had been there before and the salesman was polite but it was uncomfortable talking to him.. I was wearing capris and flip flops at the time and figured he wasnt thinking I was serious. This time I rode my bike up there. When I arrived, he was talking to a man about a scooter, and before I had my helmet off the scooter buyer left and the salesman went back into the office. So, I looked at the Road King, but he didnt come back out. So I wandered around and looked at the other bikes, and came back to the Road King. He came out and came over to talk to me. I asked the year and price. He didnt volunteer the miles. I then told him people had warned me about the solid wheels making it a little harder to control under high wind conditions, and he overcame my objection with a logical answer. I pointed out that the bike had been dropped because the chrome was scratched around the speedometer, the light bezel was stretched and the tank had a scratch from the handle bars. He said no way was it dropped, the crash bars would be damaged. So I told him I would like to take it for a test ride. He told me I could not until we came to a mutually agreeable sales price.......Who the hell makes an offer on any vehicle without at least hearing the thing run? Then he told me it was winterized and couldnt be ridden ......uh, its Florida... He saw I had a bike, never asked if I would want to trade, didnt act like i really had any business being there! I am the secretary of a local chapter of an international womens riding club. There are thousands of us riding and BUYING motorcycles. I think the salesman should have more respect, and really should be dismissed immediately. I left there so angry I was shaking! Screw them. Post Script: The next week I bought a beautiful Heritage from Black Widow and was treated with respect.

I took the bike in to fix two issues. I towed the bike there and spoke to a very helpful gentlemen. About a week goes by and I have to start calling on a daily basis. Finally I get a call (I guess after I started to annoy them) and was told an estimate. I went there that next day and was not shown the bike. I was pushed to pay for the bill (which did not state my second issue was fixed) and was not given the estimate either that I requested (required by law). I paid the bill, because I wanted to see my bike. I asked the technician if it was fixed, he told me he doesnt know but I can check back. "It runs good, however!" So I take the bike home and the second issue pops up again. I take it back and argue with the owner for about an hour and a half. He seemed like he did not want to believe his technician could of missed it (he saw it within 5 minutes, the technician however seemed to take a week?), the shop did not provide me a written estimate, and seemed horribly dismayed that I would be so upset. Eventually he realized that he broke the law by not providing an estimate of the required work I stated, and decided to cover the second issue for free. I wish the parts could of been put on priority to make me happy, or at least ask me to get priority shipping, but the part eventually came in and he resolved the issue for me. I give the store a below average score because this was only saved by the Owners can-do attitude (after arguing) to get my issue resolved at no cost to me. I would not recommend taking your bike here unless you are incredibly detailed (like I was) and persistent to the technicians. If you speak to the Owner, Steve, make sure to have him do the work if you feel so inclined. Southwest Cycle, please focus more on the customers actual needs. Try not to focus on the money, despite the economy. One bad experience will hurt that 50-100$ profit you make on causing someone headache. That person will only then spread the word, like I will.

I am in the United States Marine Corps, I have been deployed to Afghanistan for the past 7 months and My HD 2010 Street Glide has been at my parents house in Cape Coral. I wanted to get some work done while I was gone so I called several motorcycle shops in the surrounding area. After talking to the service rep at Southwest Cycle I was impressed and decided to have my dad take my bike to them. I am so glad that I did. My dad told me that the shop was great. He said everyone there was extremely nice and professional. I returned from deployment and the work that they did on my bike was perfect. I stopped in the shop to meet everyone there and to start with, the shop looked like a delership. It was very clean and the atmosphere was laid back. All the employees were so nice and very professional. This shop has taken great care of me and my bike. I was able to feel at ease knowing they were taking care of my bike while I was gone and I was able to focus on the mission I was performing overseas. If I lived in the area this would be the only shop that I go to. I recommend for all to use this shop for any and all of your motorcyle needs, both Metric and American. I plan to stop in and see these guys everytime I am home on leave.......
