Extremely shady! 2 years ago I bought a BMW and I took it to get it smogged last month. It turns out the check engine light had been covered with black silicone so it wouldnt show it was on. This was to be done at the time Abe sold me the car or prior to that. He must have known the check engine light was on when he attempted to smog it, but somehow they made it pass the test and covered the light so I wouldnt know. I checked the DMV smog records. There were 5 smog attempts to get it smogged one month before I bought the car, most of them aborted. Two years later I spent $2000 to get it fixed. I called Abe about it, he said hes not the one doing the tests (Almaden Auto Repair is, and Abe takes all his cars there to get them fixed). He said hes in a meeting and doesnt have time, and to call him the next day... In short, dont buy there, as the guy is as dishonest as he can be.

After several days of communicating the details of the purchase I had my brother drive me over an hour to pick up the car. When I arrived however, Abe took over the deal and immediately starts in with the we need more money down nonsense. I agreed to put 300- additional down. Then he pulls the "we need 795- for gap insurance" wow. Wait. We already solidified this deal and I am here with everything I needed to fulfill my side of the deal. We had to drive back to Salinas and buy a car. These people are tupical aitomotive scam operation scum bags.

Buyer Beware! We bought a 2001 Volvo V70 from these guys and it immediately started having serious transmission issues. I called Abe (the owner) and explained the issue and he wouldnt do anything to help me (like split the cost of service). I personally think he knew what was going on and sold me a car that needed work (although it was hard to detect via test drives, etc.), but even if he didnt, that means his product is not trustworthy. Either he is dishonest or doesnt stock quality product. Regardless, I would look elsewhere.

Maybe the old reviews are old, but I had a pretty good experience at Excel. I talked to Abe and he set me up with financing (decent APR since my credit is not that good). I brought my mechanic over and he checked out the car and all was well just like the Carfax said. Overall the car has been running well for like 5 months and no issues. My payments have not had issues and the finance company they got me is pretty understanding too if anything comes up.

I am very happy with the car I have and havent had any trouble with it. Good customer service and quality with very good value

Abe will work with what you are looking for we got a good deal at Excel Auto Abe himself helped us tramendously. Our RX 300 Lexus is wondeful drives great along with his own loan for us to purchase the car. Cloths mouths dont get fed so talk to this guy and he will make it work.
