Bought 2 bikes here, the Muir Woods 29ers 2014 model and 2013 model. The guy who helped me gave me a 10% percent discount, including on all merchandise. The 2013 model was also discounted by another 150 bucks. He was super helpful and answered all my questions and allowed me to test drive inside the store. He helped me pick out the best U lock for security, as I do not know much about locks and always figured Kryptonite is always the best, which was not the case. They offer super cheap maintenance on the bike and also installed free bottle holders for the bikes. If you are looking to purchase a bike and have a ton of questions, this is the place to go.

I always have a great experience at Marin bikes. Ive bought my bike here and have always thought I needed to pay for the issues Ive had and they always show me and fix the problem. Love these guys! They are always so polite. I have zero skills when it comes to understand the lingo to describe the problems I experience with the bike. They walk me through it and find the issue right away. The location is easy to find, right there on the corner of 7th and Folsom. If you gotta wait for a bit then go across the street and hang out at Site Glass and enjoy some great coffee.

This place is ONLY if you want to buy a new traditional Marin® bike. If youre looking for parts, wide knowledge of parts/mechanisms and advice on various different styles.... Go Somewhere Else. Ive been there 4 different times and left empty-handed and irritated every time. This last time I was just looking for softer regular lo-tech brake pads, and they didnt even have something as simple as that. I wont be going back. As a positive.... Its was an upbeat, clean, and friendly place, with plenty of basic factory bikes. Definitely NOT a snobbish place.

I needed a part for my SPD shoe. I got there right as they were about the close down, but they let me in anyways. They gave me some sound advice, got me the part I needed, and helped me to install the hardware. It seemed that my screw was too short but the employee (I think his name was Brice?) continued to work with my shoe until he got the part to work. This was all after the shop had officially closed down for the day. I dont care who you are, thats good service!

Get your bike tuned here. This store is great! I have been here a few times and each time the customer service has been exceptional. You can tell that the staff here really love their jobs, kudos to the management here. I refer my friends here for tune-ups and what-not. The next bike I purchase will be from here because I know that the staff will be super honest about what I am buying.

Cant agree more with Mr. B! I bought my Marin in Thailand late 2011. Frame broke and been in service since beginning February and till today I am still looking to see it back in one piece! The worst thing about marin is that they dont have any way to ask questions! They shut you down on Facebook. The have no email address on their website! Its almost impossible to get in contact them!!

I was looking to buy a bike that was made and assembled locally and Marin ended up at the top of my list. The staff at their factory store were knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. They answered all my questions and let my brother and I take several test rides. I ended up going with a 2011 model that had been marked down from 1k to 650 and I absolutely love it so far.

I took my bike in for a needed springtime tuneup, and the wrenches in the service area were really helpful and knowledgeable about everything bike. The show room room and lounge area is awesome. While waiting, I resisted the lounge area and I test rode a street bike and now saving up for a summer purchase. Thanks for all the help guys.

I bought a bike from the shop today and Robert did everything he could to get the bike, lock, and anti-theft compenents I wanted into my budget. He was super flexible and overall an honest, knowledgable guy. Im so happy with the price I paid and Im pumped to ride my new bike around SF! Highly recommend these guys!

Honest, friendly, super knowledgeable staff; when they say "support your local bike shop" theyve got guys/gals like these in mind. Free tune-ups for a year! Plus I think they used to be (still are?) a Marin factory store so theyve often got great deals on old models.

A welcome contribution to the citys cycling scene. All the staff here are experts in their fields, and better yet, are really friendly. No "bike snob" vibe. Lots of good deals on closeout Marins, but also some very good value on current year stuff.

Have to agree with others. Since Bob sold the company the service and support seems to have really suffered. Hope they can shake it out soon. Tired of hearing about broken frames and warranty issues.
