This review has nothing against discount tire chain.. only against the Orem store it self. I went in today to have my continental tire patched. The man asked me what tire so we went out and I showed him the front left tire on the driver side and told him it had a little nail in it..He told me it would be a 2 hour wait, so I went inside and took a seat... after about 2 hours A guy came out asking for me and told me we were good and there was no nail to begin with!? So I asked him what tire they checked!? And he told me the front right passenger tire! They took off and checked the WRONG TIRE!! So I told him its okay and to just check the other one.. After about 20 min the guy came out again and told me that it def had a nail in it, but they WONT patch it up because continental recommends that they dont patch there tires.. then he goes on to try to sell me 4 new tires trying to tell my my tires are worn and that I dont need a patch.. So basically I waited 2 1/2 hours to be told they wont patch my tire that is only half worn. And that I need to buy 4 new ones.. terrible service! Why didnt hey tell me they couldnt patch it before I waited the 2 hours!!! So I called My dealership and they told me to come down and they would patch it for free.. Im extremely disappointed because at other locations Ive only had but good things to say about discount tires.. they wouldnt even offer me a discount for my troubles.. sadly Ill never go back.

Ive been taking my cars to Discount Tire since 1996 - 21 years. Since 1999 it has been this Orem store. I currently have 6 cars, 5 with tires from this store. All six had them until last year when I took a tire from my sons car to be re-mounted to the rim. It had come unsealed as he turned into our driveway, but they refused to re-mount it because they said it didnt have enough tread. I told them that I had no spare for the car, so if they wanted to sell me a set of new tires they would need to fix this one so I could drive to the store. No. Fast forward to today. I went in to have the tires on my car rotated. they have just over 19,000 miles, warranted to 60,000. Again with the "not enough tread so they refused to rotate them. Okay - lets get some new ones on there. Shows me options, I choose a tire that is listed at $102 per tire. WITH pro-rating he says theyll run me $429. I asked how that is possible and he says he gave me $40 per rear tire, but $0 on the front tires because that wear was obviously from bad alignment, or too much camber, or... Really. So, the back tires have 2/32 tread left, and the front also have 2/32 tread left, but he can do "nothing" because my car "must have been out of alignment". Not to mention that the tires didnt last 1/3rd of their warranted lifetime but he was offering me 40% of the price I paid.

Honestly, I do not care much about customer service, I just want the job done and done well. The people who I dealt with here were smug, but the reason for the bad review is that they told me that nothing was wrong with my tire. I knew that there was a hole or something, I had lost a lot of air in a day. I went in and they said nothing was wrong with my tire but that my sensors were broken and that was why the light would not go off (my light was not on). That took about 45 minutes. I went in the next day and they told me that there was no hole, just that my rim was messed up and that was causing the deflation. That took about 1 hour 15 minutes. They didnt try to sell me new rims. I thought that was weird if that was what I needed to fix my tire. So I went to Les Schwab and they found and fixed a hole in 30 minutes. This Discount Tire was a waste of my time. They did not even fix what I needed in 2 hours of work. I will not go there again. They treated me as though I was stupid, me being girl. Then the 2nd day gave me weird looks the whole time like I did not know what I was doing because they had already "fixed" my tire. Not a great experience to say the least.

I went in on a Friday and got 4 new tires. When the work was done, one of the guys informed me that they had accidentally broken one of my tire pressure sensors and that I had to come back on Monday to get it replaced. He said they would get me right into a bay and get it taken care of quickly when I came back. This was kind of annoying, but accidents happen and it wasnt the end of the world. The problem happened when I came back on Monday. Instead of being apologetic about the fact that I had to take the time to come back in, the guy at the desk acted put out that I was even there because he said they were already busy, it was almost closing time, and he "wanted to go home too". Unfortunately I have to work for a living and I cant take time off to come in the middle of the day just to make things more convenient for these guys to fix their own screw-up. He grudgingly took my key, but instead of getting my car in quickly as had been promised (and as I had asked), I had to wait 45 minutes so this guy could make sure my car was the very last one out of the bay. Piss poor customer service and a piss poor attitude.

I will only go to this place with any tire problem I have in future. They really care about their customers safety, and their customer service is awesome. My car was having alignment problems, so my mechanic said its because of front tires. I went to discount tire to get two new tires for front, in order to fix the alignment problem. They put new tires on the back and explained me they are not allowed to put better tires on front, because it is not safe. So I said I need new tires on front, because of alignment problem. They said in that case I need to buy another two tires, and I couldnt afford another two tires, And their manager said, I will give you two new tires, because your safety is more important for us, than the price of those tires. And they did. And I didnt pay for it. The manager said if I will be able to pay for them in future some day, I can do that, if not, than its fine. I paid for two tires, but got four. Nothing like this happened to me in my entire life before.

My wifes car had a screw in it and so I went in to get fixed. They brought the tire in to the showroom floor and showed me it would need to be replaced soon. They asked if I would like to do it now and I declined to give myself some time to talk with my wife and decide what to do. They were polite and said okay no problem we will just patch the hole and then get you on your way. Up until that point everything was great, until later in the week my wife tells me that the tire kept going flat and so I took the tire off to inspect it and found not patch job but I did find the same exact screw in the tire in the same exact spot. If you did not want to patch it you could have said so, and I would have figured it out. She had to stop somewhere everyday to fill the tire at $1.50 a stop.
