The deli counter in this place is a travesty. Ive never seen a group that *consistently cannot* slice or pack cold cuts. Its not rocket science but a *bit* of care and effort might be nice. I never knew just how much of a mess could be made of deli meats till I came here. Seriously. (and this hasnt improved in two years!) Cold cuts are folded over on themselves, stacked like crap, sliced too thin, too thick, never right (dont bother asking, youll either confuse them and get the wrong thing or they wont understand you and you get the wrong thing. Either way, you gotta get lucky for them to get it right). Deli counter workers are usually jabbering about inane nonsense (tv shows, store gossip, etc.), and while I understand talking to each other to pass the time, why are you doing it with 4 people on line behind me? Even if you *are* working an order, shut up and concentrate on getting wrong please, and stop distracting the guy whos mangling my cold cuts while youre at it, thank you. The appetizers and salads are far from appetizing. Chicken salad, tuna salads, etc... all w/ browned out edges from sitting for so long (not hours, my guess is *days*), uncovered, who gives a crap. Huge tubs like that. Its horrendous. Ive never ordered from those and never will. Ive even started driving to the bagel store on 86 & 7th (across from nathans) late at night to get just cold cuts because I cant stand what they do to my order. I really never knew how bad you could mangle a deli meats order till I came here, did I mention that? As for the rest of store? Meh. Marginal at best, infuriating at times. Produce- not much to speak of. Sometimes its decent or even good, usually, meh. Sometimes, you wonder. Selection is marginal. At best this place is ok for staple items (milk, toast, cereal) but then the lines and disorganization will agitate the crap out of you if its peak times (peak times I wont even set foot in there. Ive parked my car and walked in and right back out when I realized what Id done..) Personally I dont see how this place survives (and it doesnt deserve to) except for its location. It really is a sh!7hole. If I didnt live around the corner Id never ever go there. Even now, when I do go there, I usually wonder why I bothered. In the beginning, when I didnt know better, Id spoken to various managers a few times, hoping to get things straightened. Dont bother. Go talk to the carrots and potatoes or to the eggs and milk. Itll be a more productive conversation. (At least the potatoes wont nod their head yes as it all flows in one ear out the other..)

(Gave this 2 stars but system is defaulting to 5--dont believe it!) Run by kids, music usually on static rather than on the channel, produce often iffy, favorite items (Tangerine Edies Fruit Bars, Triscuit Rosemary & Olive Oil flavor, etc.) come and go, rather than remain a regular stock item (what about if it flies off the shelves that means order more because customers like them dont they get? Oh, wait. See first comment.). They are fairly friendly, but disorganized--bad habit of stacking items in the tight aisles so that customers will knock into them and spill them over (have seen this 3 times at least)--and if you ask them to order something to keep in stock, you usually have to ask a couple of times; they will say, "OK, no problem," but then you wont see the item until you call ... again. Good to pick up some milk or lunchmeat in a pinch, but be prepared to go elsewhere for at least 2 items that complete your recipe.

This place doesnot respect customer rights. It is a chain markets. Yesterday I went there to buy some groceries and I found they have a great deal for chicken drumstick. I found only one, I take it to cashier and told here I need one more. She told me she have to ask manager. When he came I told him I need one more. He said No More with a rude way. ACTUALLY I was bought the staff And after I went out I was so nervous. I TOLD MY SELF I SHOULDNT APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP WITH this shop. It is achain market you should let all your customers to get benefits from your offers. You do not want cystomer to run for the offers as a dog found a piece of meat.

This store is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Produce is generally very good quality. Prices are pretty comparable to other stores of its size. The big perk for me is the natural food section on the second floor. It has good variety and value. The key to better prices is the loyalty program, not a big deal if you live near by. And lets face it, I havent bought a turkey or ham at the holidays since I moved here six years ago, just by doing my normal grocery shopping and swiping a piece of plastic with a bar code. Oh! And they now have self checkout and an app :)

Its become progressively more expensive over the years which is why I only give Foodtown 4 stars, however, they do have a great selection of food stuffs from around the country and world. Their produce is always solid although green grocers in the neighborhood usually have better products and prices. They have a good deli section but again its way pricier than anywhere else in the neighborhood. Lastly their entire 2nd floor is nothing but health food and vegetarian options so if thats your thing then this is your store

Several years ago, this Foodtown location expanded by extending its parking lot and building a second floor. While the first floor has a great selection of products for your typical customer, the second floor is 100% dedicated to healthy, whole-food options that can be found nowhere else in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. I often buy several bottles of kombucha there as well as vegetarian Indian food, natural toothpaste, and healthy snacks for my family and I.

It is a very convenient super market, the people that works there are excellent, they are frienlendly and polite. Special the manager, he is a very kind person always solving any problem with a positive attitude. They have the organic products at the second floor, what is a very important thing if you are looking for something healthy. I hope they reduce the prices for products as veggie meat and cheese.

2 rude cashiers yelled at a customer, grabbed her kids club card from her hand and refused to give it back even though their manager asked them to return it. I investigated on behalf of employees of food town and found out that kids club card is a given promotional right to clients. Customer is absolutely right but got humiliated and harresssd by foodtown employees and by another rude man in the line.

Foodtown is average, at best, because they offer most of what you need but at the prices that seem a touch higher than youd expect anywhere else. I suppose that can be attributed to the expansion they created for health foods upstairs. Either way, the cashiers as with any other grocer is run by teens and some lack the etiquette required of an operation as high volume and turnover as a supermarket.
