Love love LOVE this place. I have the exact single speed bike of my dreams. Gears have always confused the hell out of me (being OCD meant I could never find the perfect speed to be in) and what I wanted for daily use was just a bike that was functional, gorgeous and made with precision. The Mission Bicycle Company helped me attain that dream bike. I went into the store (highly recommend that you visit the store if you can) and some very patient and helpful employees assisted me in creating a custom bike. Seriously, every aspect of the bike was chosen by me. People say this place is pricey and whereas the bike wasnt cheap, I also think the value I received for the bike is far greater than what I paid for it. I also recommend the Lumen frame if you live in any city! Its really bad a** to have your bike light up at night when headlights hit it and as a safety feature, should be mandatory on every bike built. Yet, it seems that you can only get this from Mission Bicycle. They also give you a free tune up after a couple months of riding and are very quick at making any adjustment youd like. Now that they made it exactly how I want it, I want to learn more about bikes to make all future repairs myself. Im sure theyll be happy to help me when I screw up. Staff is friendly, I keep going back to look at other bikes just because and they have made me fall in love with an inanimate object. Treat yo self and get a bike from here!

I was hesitant about dropping what seemed like a load of money on a bike at Mission Bicycle, but after shopping around for generic bikes and never being fully satisfied, I finally paid Mission Bicycle a visit. Kelly was very inviting and after speaking to her about the price break down, I realized that a custom bike would end up costing the same as me buying a generic frame and adding parts I already had plus others that I was missing. After that, there was no question, I had to have a custom bike that fit to my tastes. We went through each of the parts that would go into building the bike and my excitement shot through the roof was we went through choosing upgrades and colors. The turn around time was around 2-3 weeks as some parts had to be ordered and I waited for my frame to be painted. I am completely in love with my bike and have fun riding around San Francisco because of Mission Bicycle!

Great quirky basic bike shop. Knowledgeable friendly staff. I had ordered a bike online (which is fantastic BTW) and went to see the brick and mortar location last week. I got to see behind the scenes where the bikes are built. I had a ton of questions which they were very helpful with. Their bikes are solid no nonsense and well built with care.

bought a bicycle here. was really surprised at how patient the staff were; most bicycle shop employees are the SF equivalent of muscle car garage jocks in other cities. love the bike. was even convinced to get a single gear. Smurf blue rims!

Beautiful bikes, super helpful staff, and good gear. This place is amazing, and they let you test ride/rent bikes. If you ever have an issue with a bike you bought from them, they are very quick to help fix it. I cant recommend them enough.

When youre spending over $2500 on a bike, Id expect it to be assembled -- or, at least, have directions that are halfway easy to follow. The bike is beautiful but Im beyond irritated with how it showed up.
