Great rental experience at The Bicycle Repair Shop on a crazy-busy sunny Saturday recently. Four of us had come from the East Coast for a wedding. We rented bikes and spent three hours riding all the way to Ballard Locks and back. I ride bikes daily and was impressed with the Bicycle Repair Shops standard rental bikes - fairly lightweight, lots of gears that shifted easily, and large side bags in case we wanted to haul anything. Bags came with locks and tire repair kits, too. My wife wanted a bigger seat. No problem. And she really appreciated those gears once we hit the long climb up from the waterfront to the hill above the locks. One tip. Be sure to grab a Bike Rentals brochure before you head out. The back side has a big map of Seattles bike paths. You will want it at some of the places where paths split.

A bike parts and repair shop that caters to commuters. They are fantastically friendly, helpful and unlike many bike shops are budget-conscious. While their prices arent the cheapest (compared to Amazon or ebay), from what Ive seen they only stock high-quality stuff and stand behind it relentlessly- to the point of making REI look bad with their new policies. Their hours are also commuter-friendly, opening at 8 am unlike the vast majority of bike shops. Theyre conveniently located for a huge portion of the Seattle commuter population. They will also do their best to get any service done while youre at work- that is, drop your bike off on the way into work and ride it home.

Great shop. Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. He advised me on places to go mountain biking, and suggested checking Recycled Cycles for a cheap crankset. I decided to buy parts and tools to do a repair myself, and he was very encouraging. I got a tube from him to fix a flat, but it went flat overnight. He replaced it for free when I came back, but then it went flat overnight again a couple days later... hm. Not sure what to think, but I dont think the shop is at fault just yet. There may be a subtle problem with my tire or my rim. Or maybe the tube cant handle 75psi when used with the max tire size it is made for. (2.00")

Great people, experience, and service! They did everything on the spot as if they were there to only serve me. They didnt have a specific part for my bike in stock, but special-ordered it for me with no hassle. The shop is small w/ great atmosphere. You have no 16-18 year old nagging you when they probably dont know much more than you do (like at Performance and Greggs). The people working there love bikes and you know it. Customer for life!

I visited Seattle on a trip from NYC. I heard Seattle was an incredible place to bike. So I went here to get pick up my rental bike. The guy that helped me took 20 minutes showing me the map with the best places to bike along with which bridges are most bike friendly. The rental bike was a really high end hybrid and was a joy to ride. Very friendly staff, great rental bikes and only $45 for the day. What more could you ask for?

I live in Nepal, but a Seattle native. I am only home in the summer. Biking is my passion and my transportation. Last summer I had some problems with my bicycle while under the viaduct. I stopped by The Bicycle Repair Shop. The people and the service are absolutely wonderful. I have become so accustomed to arrogant rude workers at other shops, I was expecting the same. If there was a fifth star, they deserve it.

Fast and super friendly. Top notch work. These guys have worked on 3 bicycles of mine and always have done a great job. Recently I was on a bike ride with my father who was visiting from Eastern Washington. A spoke broke on my front wheel, luckily we were near The Bicycle Repair Shop and while they couldnt fix my wheel right then, they let me borrow a wheel! How great is that? Awesome shop!

My go-to shop for bike repairs. As a commuter, I need quick, reliable service, and The Bicycle Repair Shop is the place for me. They treat customers well, do a great job, and stand behind their work. In fact, they even helped me solve a problem that came up as a result of work done by someone else! I wholeheartedly recommend this shop to anyone.

First of all, I would agree with the previous post, regarding the very friendly, positive (without seeming disingenuous) attitude in the shop. Excellent service as well. And if you work downtown, or want to spend part of the day downtown, it is very convenient to be able to drop it off, get your work done, and pick it up and go.

Theyre great! I went in for a kind of mini-tune up and they had it done the same day and for less than I figured it would be. The bike looked so good I almost didnt want to dirty it up by riding it. Theyre definitely my new repair shop and Im looking forward to renting a couple of their bikes to try during my lunch hour.

Bike was solid. Not the typical rental... People were great! Andy the owner could not have been nicer. Recommended a route....gave me a map.. and I was out the door on what turned out to be an awesome day of riding. If you are an airline guy, he is the place to go if you stay downtown. Pics say it all.

So great! I went here when I was a novice cyclist learning how to maintain my bike. They were so welcoming and friendly. Bicycle shops can be intimidating when you dont know how to change a flat or what your tire pressure should be, but they were so helpful and supportive of me learning more about cycling.

The Bike Repair Shop does great work, provides great service, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this shop especially for folks who commute to or through downtown. Its so convenient to get your bike tuned up, fixed and pick it up for the ride home the same day..

Took my bike in to this shop---Jacob did an amazing job on it---my bike looks amazing and has been given new life----could not be happier with my choice. Went to this shop because everyone else estimated a week to finish the work---Jacob did it in less than 2 days--phenomenal!

Excellent work and super nice people. I have come in twice with a small issue and they were able to fix it while I waited and didnt even charge me for the work. Friendly, neighborhood feel - they want you to keep coming back. Also, there is a shop dog who is the sweetest!

Great shop with a fantastic pair of guys (plus sleepy shop dog) that will make sure your bike is in tip top shape! I go to these guys for all my repair and buying needs, especially they make sure they are competitive with amazon pricing so that they dont overcharge you.

The best shop in Seattle for bicycle rentals and bicycle repair service! They are super friendly. They do great work. Prices are fair and reasonable. The selection is great. The downtown/waterfront area location is perfect for commuters and out of town visitors

had a good experience here. I was in to buy a new light and the guy was knowledgeable about all the products. Didnt try to upsell me to a really expensive light. And they did a quick adjustment to my rear derailleur for free. Would definitely recommend this place
