Shocking situation! If you are shopping for a car in Jacksonville, I think you should know what happened to us today. We went to Tillman Auto on Beach with a very limited budget. My 16-year old daughter had been saving for months and was ready for her big day. We walked in with our guard up. Steve sat my daughter down and talked her out of buying the Jeep she had her eyes on at his dealership. He said, with her limited budget, she needed a more practical car with much lower mpg. He spent more than an hour teaching her about cars and about car buying. He asked if we were looking anywhere else. She told him about another car at another dealership (we didnt mention which dealer, so he had no vested interest in what he was about to do for us). Steve looked her in the eye and explained why the other car -- not the Jeep -- was probably the right choice. But he didnt stop there. He promised her if she stopped by during her test drive, he would check the critical areas that tend to go wrong with used cars. We drove in shock to the other dealer. Then we took the car for a spin.....to Tillman Auto. Steve not only thoroughly inspected the car, he explained to us exactly what he was looking for and why. He even checked the cars history on the internet! And of course, he explained exactly what price we should offer and how to stand firm on our offer. As the day unfolded, it became very obvious that Steve Tillman is NOT in business to sell cars. He is a man with a genuine passion for cars who has the heart--not of a salesman, but of a teacher. Hes doing what he loves and it shows. Teaching my daughter and coaching her through her first car purchase wasnt "work" for Steve; he was a man on a mission. As we were chatting, his wife arrived and we had a fascinating conversation as she shared her perspective on the car business. I wasnt surprised when I found out Steves wife is a teacher by profession. In my book, so is her husband. I didnt buy a car from Steve today. But I will certainly buy one from him in the future and highly recommend his dealership as the first stop for anyone who is car shopping in Jacksonville. If he has the best car for you, Im certain hell sell it to you for the right price. And if he doesnt -- and this is astonishing -- he will tell you so. Thanks Steve. This was one of the most untruthful lots I have ever visited. I was told one price and looked online and seen it was cheaper (a $5,000 difference). I was told the price online wouldnt not match the price when you come to the lot. My mother even called to verify the price yet when we got there, we were told their prices will always be different from what their own online price will be whether you pay cash or finance. I honestly had never heard of that. I was not able to get approved for a 2007 Nissan with the trade in of my car and cash down but I was approved for a 2010 Chevy Aveo since I was a first time buyer. Also, the 2010 was ALOT cheaper than the 2007. I took a longer lunch break for 3 days in a row per their request and there was ALWAYS an excuse as in the seats still were not dry for me to test drive the car they had already approved me for. I will never put my money into something especially a car that I havent test drove. The lady that works there repeatedly told me it was good running car and I would be happy. I didnt buy the car. When I called back to speak to someone else, I spoke to 2 different gentlemen who told me they couldnt assist me because I was already dealing with the woman originally. Also, when I checked my credit, they had ran my name under 9 different lenders. On top of the $5,000 difference for the car to be financed was adding on an additional couple thousand. They discouraged me in general with car purchasing. I recommend you DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE! As confusing as my review is, I was just as confused dealing with Tillman.

My experience at Tillman Auto on Beach as always been wonderful. This is the second car Ive purchased from them and in both experiences Ive walked out out there happy. If youve noticed I use the word experience because they way you are treated at Tillman It makes you want to come back. When my husband was alive, we use to just drop in just to say hello. When you buy a car at Tillman you become a part of the Tillman family. After my husband passed, they were more than happy to have me come in just to check my oil and stuff anytime i felt the need to. Ive been greeted with food on Saturdays, yes the owner himself barbecues food and offers it to anyone that comes in, that is true friendly service. My sales person Randy is the best. He does what ever it takes to get the deal on the table and make sure you are happy with the deal that was made. I will recommend Tillman Auto on Beach to anyone looking for a good used car older model or even practically new. One of the things that also has made me a loyal customer is that they service every car they sell at a discounted rate. you just cant beat the service. Tillman is the best.

I as a buyer like to look around at everything...... I went to Tillman auto after a friend recommended them...... After i went to Coggin Toyota of the Avenues. At Cogging I was told i need $4,000 Down for a 2005 Camry. I have 3 autos paid off and i co signed for a family member in 2008.... That car was repo. So that makes my credit look very low. I was very upset, Who haves an extra $4,000? I dont. Being upset i said let me just stop by and they had a 2005 Camry. Randy went over price,payment, down payment. I took the info went home Kelly Blue Booked it for the year it was priced $300 lower and 6,980 miles under. I went backed and Randy was very helpful I have never had ANYONE explaine every paper in the contract in detail over what power train, insurance, ect. So i walked away with a great car $1,000 down. A way to rebuilt my credit after a repo. The owner was very nice as well as other sales people. I would rate this Car buying as EXCELLENT. I wish you the best when buying a new car, but please go check this dealer out...... Thank you for reading~ April

Just want to give a shout out to Tillmans Automotive on Beach Boulevard I want everyone to know the kind of customer service these people offer I purchased a vehicle from them over a year ago yesterday I got a flat tire after hours when they were closed there was a special lug nut that I didnt have for the vehicle I called Kia they told me that it would cost over $50 to have them get the key and Id had to get there in 15 minutes before they closed I called Tillmans Auto not only did he call someone to come in after hours they came and picked me up at my work gave me a loaner vehicle then the next morning they towed my vehicle to their shop on Beach Boulevard fixed my car with the lug nuts and repaired my tire for me they did not do this for any money just a handshake and I thank you and I think everybody should know about it thank you Steve Tillman and staff you have a faithful customer from now on thanks guy you are amazing
