We were greeted by Patrick Umphries when we walked into the Johnsons Subaru dealership. Right from the start he impressed us with his sincerity and knowledge about the different Subaru models available. Patrick was so patient with us as we asked a million questions, test drove a few cars and looked at , I cant tell you how many! He really cared about our needs. We put a deposit down on a green Outback and after thinking about it, decided we really didnt like the color and wanted a navigation system. What I really wanted was the carbide gray color. Patrick did not say the word "impossible" to me like another sales person did. He looked and tried to find one for me and when he couldnt find one he said hed be happy to order one for us. The wait was too long so, he took the time to walk all over the lot with us so we could see all the different colors that were available. We decided that we really wanted the Venetian Red. After waiting a few days to get the car prepped (we were out of town), we arrive only to find that the hood of the car had spots all over it. In addition, the detailing department had gotten whatever they put on the tires (which were covered in mud) all over the area around the wheel wells. There were other assorted marks on the car too. Ultimately, we refused the car. Patrick was so gracious about it. He promised to make it right. We come back a few days later, the hood looks great but the other spots were not addressed. Again, we refused the car and would have walked away if it were not for Patricks effort to find us a car that would be perfect. We also have to give a big shout out to Karen in financing who worked alongside Patrick to get us into the car of our dreams. Although we only gave them four stars due to the fact that the detailing department doesnt have an eye for detail, we would totally shop at Johnsons Subaru again but only if Patrick can make the deal with us. He gets five stars !

Bought a Certified Pre Owned Subaru from Johnstons Subaru September 2014. Driving the car back i noticed the cars alignment was out of wack and tires had a bad vibration. Brought it into a local shop to check and it needed an alignment(which I was told was just done with putting new tires on it before purchase) and that 3 out of 4 were severely bent. I didnt get reimbursed for the alignment to be done correctly but did reimburse me for having to buy new rims that werent bent. In 2015 the car went in because the head gaskets were leaking , mind I am a mechanic, and was told that its not covered because they are only seeping. After 2 trips about this issue I went to a local Subaru dealership and they did the warrantee work and replaced the head gaskets, I was getting oil stains on my driveway for month while Johnstons said is was only seeping. About 2 weeks ago I went to see how much it was worth for a trade in to get a bigger Subaru and was then told this car has 4 counts of ODOMETER FRAUD and that my car isnt worth much because of it. I called Johnstons and was told theres nothing wrong and is a mileage error on carfax. I called carfax and they told me thats the mileage reported from the state inspection stations indicating the odometer fraud. When I bought the car NO ONE told me there was odometer fraud and I wouldnt have bought the car knowing this. So BUYER BEWARE. This car I bought for 14xxx is now hard to sell ever with this carfax and BEING LIED TO

Terrible Experience. We were told we would be driving off with our new 2017 Crosstrek Premium same day when we booked our appointment, last minute they tell us we have to wait another day. Agreed upon Leasing for $299 a month before leaving, AJ assured me that nothing would change and all we had to do was come pick it up tomorrow. Next day, my wife gets a call on her cellphone while at work (they barley spoke with her the whole time, I was the one making the decisions for us because I work in Finance, and they knew to call me directly) saying the car is ready but it would be $340 due to some other factors they were not aware of. Once my wife told me this I called back immediately and was told he entered a meeting and he would call back. After another 2 hours I called back again and AJ could not give me any reason as to why the price jumped up so much, but he said he couldnt do anything about it. Told them to cancel everything and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. Went to Ramsey Subaru in New Jersey, they gave us everything we were promised the first time. I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE TO JOHNSTONS. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!

First went in 2010, looking to buy a new Subaru and again in 2014 buying my second Subaru Forester. Both times this dealership was higher than most others with their prices and unwillingness to deal. I went elsewhere to purchase a new Forester each time. Because of time constraints, I was forced to use their service department just last week. To begin with, its cramped and kind of seedy looking. You should expect to have to follow up on their work to make sure they are doing what they say they are doing. Ordering parts from them is even worse . In general my whole experience with them left me with the solid impression that I should avoid this place at all costs, which I intend to do.

Stopped by the parts shop to pick up a quart bottle of Subaru super coolant because it was low. They only had gallon bottles and when I told them I didnt need a gallon, they offered to just top it off right in the parking lot for free. As the technician was filling it, he noticed that my oil filter (just replaced elsewhere) was leaking. He replaced it on the spot, no charge, and when my hood didnt latch correctly, he lubed that for me as well. He had to go back into the shop 3 times. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes, but he saved me a whole lot of trouble and money. Thank you! Ill be going there for my next oil change.

Service is mediocre at best. They did not investigate the stated problem the first day I left my vehicle with them. They called me after they were already closed to tell me they did other work on the car, and when I discovered they didnt investigate the reported problem, they asked to look at the car the next morning. The following afternoon I called for a status update, and they called me back after they had closed for the day explaining they didnt find any problems. When I went to the dealership the next day to pick up my car, I was charged for bulb replacements I didnt request or authorize.

We have been a customer of Johnstons Toyota for many years. Our family now owns three Subarus purchased from Johnstons Subaru. We are very happy with both dealerships. The owner Steve Jardine goes above and beyond to satisfy his customers. Chris Lee the General Manager treats people with the utmost respect. A.J. Rumsey the Finance Manager is very personable, efficient and well organized. Steve Bandaronek the salesman was very professional and knowledgeable. Their were no sales gimmicks or pressure, just efficient and gracious customer service.
