Ive put over $2500 into this place in the last year and will not be returning. Both times my bike was fixed by them Ive left dissatisfied with the quality of work, and have had to adjust or fix the issue myself after paying to have it professionally remedied. The last straw was receiving my bike back with the chain anti-rattle sprocket visually bent out of square after paying $28 to fix that exact issue. After noticing the still bent part, i asked if "anyone had test rode the bike to make sure it was ok" and i was met with a blank stare and an "uhh.." directly from the owner. A customer should NEVER EVER receive something back untested. Ever. All the negative aside there is an extremely helpful and friendly staff member whos helped me a few times. - long dark hair a pony tail and glasses and usually working the counter near the door - Shout out to you sir, you have been most helpful and friendly. The rest of the staff needs basic mechanical training and a lesson in being more personable.

I love this bike shop. I come here instead of the east side shops because the staff is friendly, they are willing to explain what is going on as far as repair options and pricing WITHOUT being pushy or trying to upsell you into things you dont need by giving me the feeling of embarrassment that some of the other shops make me feel because I am not a hardcore fixie rider or something. Due to the thoughtful explanations the staff of South Shore Cyclery have taken the time to give me I have actually gone with some of the more expensive options, but I did so feeling informed not pressured! I take my bikes in for little fixes often because I do not own tools, and I have no idea how to take things apart or fix them properly. The staff is always busy but willing to take time to fix things while I wait, and I have never waited more than 30 minutes or so. Cost definitely beats the eastside shops too! Its worth the trek down to Cudahy.

I rebuild and overhaul Sturmey-Archer hubs and resell them to people looking for a fantastic internally-geared three-speed experience. I stumbled across the South Shore Cyclerys eBay store, and they had a nice lot of 8 hubs. There was no "buy it now" option listed in the auction, but I noticed they were local and I decided to call them to ask about it. I made the call and got connected to the man in charge of their eBay sales, and asked if he could relist it with a buy-it-now option, and he agreed! He even gave me a price less than what I was asking for. I promptly bought the hubs while I was on the phone with him. We even had a chance to talk about my shop, and what I do. Extremely great experience, and I hope to buy from the South Shore Cyclery again! Thanks, guys!

I dont know what to say that others havent already said. This is a top notch bike shop. They have great service, a large variety of products, and are willing to answer your questions about anything bike related. I bought my bike there in summer 10, and when my wife decided to get a bike in summer 11, I was certainly glad to get hers there as well. They provide fast friendly service, and usually take care of any small service items while I wait. They also have a nice selection of tools if you prefer to do your own bike work. This is the one and only bike shop I recommend to all of my friends. Of the few bike shops I have been to in the greater Milwaukee area, this one is the best.

Fantastic experience. Just had blown my tire, was headed to Walmart to get the parts and fix it myself, and found South Shore. They fixed it in 5 minutes and then, when I asked what type of service package could fix my shifters, they had me bring my bike in and in another 5 minutes had them working properly for no charge. These guys know what they are doing. Going back next week for a full tune up! Highly recommended for personalized, fantastic customer service with a great product.

I can not say enough good things about this place! We have always had very good experiences with staff. We recently visited here to replace a tube on a flat tire. Later that day and a half mile into a ride, the tire went flat. We brought the bike back the next day. They inspected the wheel, put in extra rim tape and replaced the tube for free. It is inevitable your business will have some issues but it is how you handle those issues that says most about your business!

South Shore Cyclery is an excellent bike shop. They give great customer service; they really take the time to make sure you get the bike, part or accessory that is right for you. Also they have a quick turnaround time for repairs and tune-ups, even though they always seem to be busy. I choose this bike shop over the East Side shops that I live by- for the superior service its totally worth the longer trip!!!

One of my favorite bike shops in the Milwaukee area, I try and bike or drive down to this shop whenever I need something for my cycle. The service has always been great, the employees dont push extra gear at you just to get you to spend more money, and they have actually recommended ways to save me money before. All in all, great selection, great company.

Visited the shop after a recommendation from a friend. Very friendly and helpful staff, answered all my questions, sent me out on 4 test rides, answered more questions and I made my purchase. There was no pressure, no pushy sales people, just great customer service. I can see why my friend recommended them and I can happily do so as well.

My bike was not cleaned up when I picked it up. The mirror was dirty and the handle bars were still black with grease to the point that I had to scrub my hands a couple times to clean them up. Just a few minutes extra to clean it up before returning it to the customer would make a big difference in customer service.

I vetted all the south side bike shops and a couple north side shops. This was the shop that seemed the most competent, had the best attitude, and was more about matching you with a bike than moving a particular line or just letting you roam around lost. They have the perfect balance of helpful salesmanship.

Staff were very helpful. My bike was making a strange sound, the staff put it on the repair stand, looked into the issue, even took it for a quick ride to diagnose. Genuine customer service. Large selection of vintage bicycles. The shops branded jerseys looked sharp.
