I drive over 30 minutes from Mokena and its worth the drive! Bob and Steve help keep my purchases practical and cost effective,,,without the up-sell (my Wife really likes that part!) My original intentions when stopping @ J&R was to buy a pair of Road Shoes with new pedal system if need be - I thought I needed road shoes w/more venting. Bob said try these Bontrager breathable socks first - I wasnt crazy about $10 socks,,,but after my 2hr trainer ride,,,I was shocked and amazed that my feet werent hot and sweaty like they were with my usual socks (which i THOUGHT were breathable performance socks). Again, I was hesitant about buying $35 gloves,,,Bob said try them - if I wasnt happy, I am protected by Bontragers Unconditional Guarantee. After a 2 hour ride on the trainer today, I WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THESE SOONER!! Gloves had padding in all the right places!! I am going back for more of these soon!

The owners of the shop were very helpful through the process of buying my first road bike; however, they managed to convince me to buy a whose frame was too big for me. Being completely new to the sport, I completely relied on experienced bike shop owners to be honest with me and direct me towards a good bike for me. The bike was great and offered for a great deal, but the quality of a bike doesnt mean much if it is not fit to the rider. The worst thing is that I didnt even know that this bike didnt fit me until someone on a group ride mentioned this to me months later. No wonder I was struggling so much! You can buy a quality bike, but it doesnt mean anything if it doesnt fit properly. In the future, I will need to shop for bikes with a friend whom I can trust and isnt just trying to make a sale.

I bought my bike from there. Staff was friendly and I got a few extras with the bike. My biggest issue with them is their customer service after I bought the bike. When I came in to have them look at it, its like they didnt care that they sold me a bike with broken parts. Also, I got a free tune up with the bike but no one told me it had to be used in the first year. I went in for a tune up about 18 months later and all they said was "Too bad". I will not be coming back to a this place. Check out performance bike in Lombard. Much better customer service. I should have never bought my bike from here.

Fantastic service! After being upsold by another shop, I wanted to get another opinion. Im so glad I stopped in J&R. I was fitted with a bike that was 1/4th the price of what another shop was trying to sell me on. This allowed me to get some proper riding gear. This then lead to me buying even more gear once I found how much of a difference it made. They have a customer for life and I recommend them to ANYONE looking for either their first or fifth bike.

We have bought several bikes from J&R in the last 25 years for ourselves, kids and grandkids. Never did I feel I was being oversold or underestimated. Our main ride is a tandem recumbent, not purchased there, and Bob and Steve have serviced it well. The service and attentiveness from Bob, Lorna and Steve has always been personalized and excellent. There are a couple of other shops I go to but J&R is always my first choice.

I recently purchased a bike from J and R. They have a very nice, clean, and orgainzed shop with many bikes and all the accessories you could need. They explained all the differences in the bikes and allowed me to test ride any/all I wanted. I have since used my new bike multiple times with no complaints. I definitely suggest J and R for anyone looking for true help in finding the right bike.

When I went in, my brother dropped off his bike to get a tune up and the person who helped us knew exactly how to help make my brothers bike problems go away. Next, I wanted to buy my own bike. The man again knew exactly what I was looking for when I didnt even know myself. I got a great mountain bike for a great price and I know Ill be going back soon.

Definitely one of my go-to bike shops. Never condescending (rare in the industry) and super helpful. Spent some quality time reading Trek catalogs on the leather couch with the sun shining on me through full height windows while they fixed up one of my rides. Stop letting bike mechanics scoff at your requests - take your ride to J & R!

We were in Elmhurst racing the Intelligentsia Cup, and broke a spoke on my carbon race wheels. My wife was racing in two hours so I needed some serious help in a hurry. They had the right spoke and had me up and running with a perfectly trued wheel in 20 minutes. An amazing family owned shop.

Ive been in this bike shop quite a few times over the years and I never learn my lesson. They only want to sell you a new bike. All questions lead to making you feel stupid if you arent interested in that. Way over priced. I dont recommend.

Staff is very knowledgeable and will set you up with the right bike or gear. They have a good variety in stock, unlike other shops. They also sell the best brands around. I custom ordered a bike and it came in fast with no issues.

When Someone brings a bike to be repaired and they look at you and say"well is expensive" and it takes a long time.... but the negativity here is like roaches at night..... go somewhere else my riders!
