The amount of rude homeless people in the food area is insane. I saw a guy cooking raw fish in the microwave and leave it a mess. Then later another costumer yelled at him from across the area to clean it up. So unprofessional. I know the ladies at starbucks cant do much since I knew someone that worked there years ago. I know theyll get in trouble for talking to costumers that are being rude and I know theyre complaints also arent taken seriously and only a costumer complaint is taken seriously. There is also a woman that comes in and gets people to give her starbucks cards about talking about her living situation. Ive also seen her nabbing things at the starbucks register. Another time I saw a few people playing chess and this older man that looked drunk was harassing the starbucks baristas and the other 2 men that were playing chess. I saw him being asked to leave. But days later saw him there again. I feel like this store doesnt take the safety of its costumers or employees very seriously. Also Ive overheard some very rude things said by employees at the deli. There is this nice girl working but the costumer said she didnt want to be served by a dirty Mexican. And the girl wasnt even Mexican. She was foreign yes but not Mexican and who cares where shes from as long as she can do her job well? Anyways she got someone else to serve this woman and the woman said the same thing to the other employee and the employee agreed with the costumer. How rude. I wouldnt want to work for this company if thats whats happening between co-workers. Everything is super expensive there and even with the discounts and rewards points it only drops the prices to Walmarts prices. And at least at Walmart I dont see all this crap. Not coming here again

This is the worst Fred Meyer that I have been to from Alaska, Washington and Oregon.....so many employees running around looking busy but cant help you.....I asked if an electric cart could be brought up to the cashiers station and was told to sit and wait....after a half hour another customer parked the electric cart and I used that one......I asked if someone could bring up ten cases of water and they brought up eleven....the charge on the cart was about gone by then and the line at the cashiers was very long so I asked if we could take the water to another check out....the young man (the only nice person) hailed a woman and asked if she could check me out....she was screaming at me wanting to know how I was going to pay....card or cash....I told her at that point either I didnt care I just wanted to get out of there....then she had to make a big deal out of finding her keys. Another time I just wanted to buy cigarettes and a stock boy said I would have to go get in line at one of the registers.....I just had hip surgery and was using a cane and walking great distances was difficult but why should anyone help a handicapped person? finally a PIC said she would help me but she had to find her keys

Going to Fred Meyer in newport is great! Everybody who works there is helpful and friendly...and that includes customer service, no matter what those other two women say. Judging by their rude comments, they are the ones with issues. We have found that the employees go above and beyond the call of duty. The sales are great, the coupons are plentiful and the points for gas are phenomenal! The only thing I dont understand is the prices on the clothing. They are pretty high and they seem to want to play the coupon game to the extreme. why not dispense with the coupon circus and just lower the prices. I bought a cotton top for $45 and followed the instructions for laundering and it shrank about 2 sizes...I had never even worn it! I donated it to Pick of the Litter. All in all its my favorite place to shop for everything and have found prices on certain items lower than at Walmart!

What a shame. I came from Colorado where we had another Kroger grocer there named King Soopers so I was happy to see a local store with nearly the same brands and food choices. Unfortunately, the customer service, brand choices and availability of products at this location is horrendous. Ever since the remodeled in 2014 it seems now every time I visited this store they would inevitability be put of several major brands of popular products while the Kroger brand is fully stocked. Or take away a popular item from the shelves because of "management decisions" just to find it back next month after I have changed brands... Ugh. I ask for a special order and they never called me so I call and ask and find out they never ordered it... Happened three times!! I refuse to patronize this store ever again.

The grocery part was great, employees friendly and helpful! Went to service center to cash in scatch off tickets i counted them 2 times had won 11.00 the gal working there said only 10.00 i know it was 11.00 this has happened the last 4 times ive been there they always say a 1.00 less than my count, i feel something is not right, just saying! Then went into electronics could not get any help, was looking to buy a tablet, the two ladies just stood back in the corner toward back and never even acknowleged me, left and went to walmart and got one there. I love fred meyer and shop there often, but maybe you could check on each dept and make sure all is going well. Thank you put only a 3 star due to the service today at electronics and a continued pattern at service center!

This location is exceptionally chaotic. People are constantly having to dodge cars and cars have to dodge cars. However, most of the people working here are very friendly. I would come in and would be able to ask for help and get it or even just be able to say "Good Morning" in a cheery mood. On the other had, I cant say the customer service representative that I spoke with was very good mannered or even a good mood. She seemed annoyed that I was bothering her (despite my initial attempts to cheer her up) and wanted to drag to me aisles to prove to me how wrong I was. Her name is Meagan (in case management is looking at this). I walked away in a sour mood. Not a very good customer service experience.

Nadda Chenni

Considering options on the coast are somewhat limited, the Fred Meyers in Newport is pretty swell. This is a full on department and grocery store (in Portland they have smaller Fred Meyers that only sell groceries): they have a bulk section, organic food, garden center, electronics, clothes, automotive and a bunch of other stuff Im sure Im missing. I like that they sell the Boars Head meats and cheeses in their deli which I am a big fan of. I wish there was a New Seasons out here, but since theres not Fred Meyers will suffice.

I have never seen a mess here and when you do find a worker they do do there best and try to help you find what your looking for. But with all large stores there are a couple of rotten eggs in the carton( I mean that there are a couple of employed that work here who would not work with paying costumers, they are just rude. I have never had trouble with Fred Meyers literal eggs.) I do recommend them for there variety and most of the time there prices are good.
