My favorite Safeway in Humboldt. They have self checkouts which is the No 1 reason I shop here, I dont want a cashier touching my food after handing money, I can bag my groceries the way I like, and its much more efficient, 6 people can check out under the supervision of 1 attendant. Only problems is there is an issue with their cart security system (locks cart wheels if you try to take it out of parking lot) - the carts frequently lock up when you first get inside the door. So you slam into the cart, and have to go back outside and get a new cart. Someone needs to fix this. Also, they dont carry Safeway brand pizza rolls at this store, which I think are better than name brand. Otherwise, nice large store with self-checkouts.

Good for a quick trip for a few necessary items at the end of a work day. They recently moved their bulk item section out of the isle and to its own designated space as well as expanded their offerings. It was a great move on their part, unfortunately patrons trash it and leave it in disarray and it ends up being an annoying mess to deal with when you want to actually use it. Would be nice if the store tried to maintain that area a bit more. Other than that, the bakery is great and offers a lot more than you would expect, and they have a clearance rack where you can pick up some decent discounts on items if youre willing to deal with bent or damaged goods.

Horrible place. Overpriced. $3 for a colored pepper! $2 for one onion! Frozen Shrimp is 50% more than everywhere else. No raw tortillas, no claussen pickles or krout, no marbled rye. I constantly come here looking for items and leave in disgust because of prices. $15/lb Ribeye. Try Myrtletown Market $10/lb ribeye all the time. CashnCarry has bags of onions for $5 (less than costco) and Darigold (good milk, sour cream, butter), 2lbs pre-sliced cheese for $7.

The employees are nice, but the corporation SUCKS! The merchandise is incredibly over-priced, and they treat their employees poorly. Employees who have worked here for 15 years or more are jerked around by the managements just-in-time scheduling: workers get their one-week schedule on Friday, so no one can ever make plans for the weekend. BS! I take my grocery business to the employee-friendly Costco on the other side of town.

I consistently have had a wonderful experience at Eureka Safeway. The staff is friendly and helpful. They always bag my groceries for me and offer help out. The wait in the check out line is never too long, and the produce and meats are fresh and high quality. The store is clean, (including the bathrooms) and well organized. A nice shopping experience overall.

Sometimes the coffee is full in the morning. Thats great if the sugar or cream is not empty or better yet if the lids are not all gone. My thought is they are waiting for Starbucks to take over to charge three times current prices and make you wait! That will be in the bottleneck that they have built across the street. Cant wait!

The workers at the bakery do not know about their own baked goods! My mom has a severe allergy to coconut and she asked the woman behind the counter if there was any in it, to which she replied no. My moms throat swelled up and she couldnt breathe. We called Safeway as soon as it happened and we got no help.

Great selection and good food, try to bargain shop, and check receipt, Slaveway does take advantage of their employees, and they have a policy wjmhere the scan code is wrong, you get the item free, check your receipts. They also have double coupons,in their sales ad, good for four coupons.

I love our Safeway. It is the most friendly & happy store in the area. The veggies & fruits are so fresh. The fresh prepared fruits and veggies are a wonderful item. And then there are the employees. Always helpful, courteous and informed. The manager, Ron, is the nicest person.

If you have kids, this is a great store to shop at. I feel like every department has friendly employees. They treat my toddler like he is a movie star. I have never had a bad interaction with an employee. The carts are clean which is something I always notice when I shop.

Convenient location and good selection, but long lines even in self-check out and not enough help to have baggers at checkout, but high prices. Dangerous and annoying parking lot. Slowest. Starbucks. Service. Ever. No baskets by the door for quick shopping.

Super slow service, employees talking while customers are waiting. All lines 4 people deep! With the super high prices, one would expect halfway descent service. No every time its 15 minutes at the deli, followed by 10 minutes at the registerm

Over priced and a maze to shop. The lines are always horrendous and self check out is a joke. Bring back 15 items or less and give people a raise. Make these employees happy to come to work. The plus side is the deli, meat and bakery depts.

Clean store, friendly staff. They have a sushi chef! Great wine selection and deli. Where else can you get a Starbucks coffee, groceries for dinner, fresh flowers and a flu shot (all a 20% off coupon for doin it)...all under one roof!!!

Relatively new store with knowledgeable, helpful, staff who keep it clean and well-stocked. The deli is tasty and, while the store itself is a little expensive, its better than catching Meth-Herpies at WinCo.

My boyfriend Jim always picks up great tasty sandwiches from the deli for me. It has a new variety of fresh bakery items, great roomy produce section and selection. Flowers are fresh staff are friendly :))

A nice Safeway, but annoyingly always understaffed. But thats not the fault of the employees... Theyre very cool most of the time, even with so much pressure on them.

The employees are great! The deli section is always fresh, they make there sushi fresh everyday. The set up inside makes it easy to find what you came to buy.
