This is the most unfriendly Safeway Ive ever been in. This was my second visit, on the first the cashier David was berating the courtsey clerk..this time no one would help me. I hate self check out but because the lines were so long I did it and the clerk absolutely ignored me when I asked for help because the screen was not working when I tried to look up my produce. I had no choice but to pay the higher organic price for my russet potatoes and other products that rung up with wrong price because the clerk ignored my pleas for help. The lines were long and I felt terrible holding everyone up so I just did the best I could . Corporate office should visit this store it was a second d terrible experience. I sought out Safeway because I usually have a great experience...this was unfriendly, unprofessional unlikely Ill ever go back!!!

We rode the Skunk Train on Memotial Day, 2016 and then headed for cooler country. We arrived in Fortuna and needed a few items so stopped at Safeway. I was amazed. The store was large and the options were many. The staff was exceptionally friendly snf helpful. The fish market was awesome. We didnt leave the area until Wednesday and stopped once again to buy fresh fish to take home. Again, staff was helpful and helpful. All the fish we bought was fresh, tasty, and the price was fair.

Go to Winco in Eureka and get twice as much food for half the price. Rays down the street is even better. This place is very over priced. They sell almost nothing thats local to Humboldt. Its very common to see very small cuts of meat that cost close to $30. The deli is full of nitrate preservative gluten mechanically separated cold cuts including all the roast beef at $10 a pound average. Theres always a huge line to check out, even late at night.

I am rating the bakery. They fail in every way. The decerations are never what they say. The writing on the cakes my 8 year old could do better. Nothing quilty about it. The last cake I got was a double layer round cake and the cake sections werent even. I couldnt mess that one up. They need way more training.

"A helpful smile in every aisle" is the motto of Hy-Vee, a grocery chain in Iowa. The staff at the Fortuna Safeway need to go there and take some lessons in customer service. It is pretty telling that Safeway requires that they get at least one star in order to post this review.

Use to be a good store but now stacks merchandise everywhere. Blocking aisles and hindering access. Employees tell customers these designions are made by the corporate office. I typically avoid Fortunas Safeway and op for another place to shop.

The checkers have always been good and courteous. I am very disappointed that a business of your size cant get the locks on the restroom repaired. It is very embarrassing to walk in someone, especially someone of the opposite sex. Rich Sweet

Safeway has a great variety of what you might be looking for. But when you get to check out, the lines move very slow. The self checkout has 4 stations. Most of the time one is broken. They are busy also. Prices are good too. Open 24hrs..

This particular safeway has great employees, but the absolute rudest customers on the planet. For being in the "Friendly City" I have never been closer to getting in random fights and arguments at any other place.

Ordered a cake for graduation. What I ended up was worse than anything I would have made. They refunded my money with a pathetic apology. It cost me gas and time to drive to eureka to find a replacement.

Clean Safeway with plenty of parking. I also really appreciate that they have items for vegans (Vegenaise, Earth Balance, soy milk, Daiya, Field Roast, and a few other options).

The cashier had a squeaky animal after a couple minutes I figured Id squeak it he was short snappy and rude shop else where so you dont inconvenience them
