Viet-wah is not the antiseptic wasteland that many supermarkets have become nowadays. Somehow its retain a little bit of real-life flair. The smell of live seafood will probably put some people off, but thats their fault and they can always go to a drug store to feel at home. Best selection of cheap Asian ingredients that Ive found in Seattle. The name assumes Vietnamese foodstuffs, but their inventory ranges to Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.

I went to Viet-Wah to get a variety of ingredients I was certain my local QFC would not have in stock, and I was not disappointed. The service at Viet-Wah was friendly from the time I walked in the door until I left. The signage in English is helpful for non-Asian language speakers, and there is a nice variety of the same kind of product. There was enough parking for the people there, so visiting was easy and I will go back.

Like most mom and pop Asian stores, Viet-Wah could use a facelift on the inside. But....They have great prices on their fruits and veggies. Looking for an Asian spice, or sauce? They probably have it. The seafood section doesnt look too inviting, but the clams are clean and priced right. The meats look better than other small Asian grocery stores too. Between Viet-Wah and Safeway I have all my shopping needs covered.

This is the best pan-Asian supermarket in the area with low prices and a solid assortment of fresh produce and dried goods. Its certainly not up to the posh standards of modern American supermarkets but then again the prices are dramatically lower. Try their freshly made noodles by the checkout and their sliced papaya ready for salads.

Very good deals and fresh produce. I like the quality for the price. You can tell there was care put into preparing all the vegis. Cheaper than Uwajimaya and better quality than most of the smaller stores around the international district. Store front could use a face-lift but I read they will be remodeling in the near future.

In the last week, I did some food shopping at Viet-Wah and Uwajimaya to compare (I had recently moved to Seattle from California). I have to say, Uwajimaya was a much better store, with a better selection and not more expensive than VietWah. The difference in quality was very stark.

This is where you want to go for more authentic ingredients and experience. The meat department is fairly well stocked. Its a bit smelly, and it wants for shiny clean floors, but I havent seen any ridiculously bad cleanliness issues. Its an experience!

Excellent produce section and overall about ~10-20% cheaper than uwajimaya... I always go to viet-wah first. There is a large assortment of specialty cookware (these items are ~ 40% cheaper than uwajimaya). Parking is available but limited.

They have everything! I just discovered this place and couldnt be happier. The price is reasonable and they have so many vietnamese treats that you cant find anywhere else. The parking situation is a little shady but maybe thats just me.

It okay. The snacks (lol, junk food) are pretty good, although they have a lot of cookies, I mean A LOT. Overall its ok I guess, but sometimes the food is not fresh... The staff are very polite and nice, though!

Huge selection and great values, especially in produce (prices are often 70% less than in regular grocery stores or farmers markets). Has a well stocked kitchenware section too.

Bought some Pho mix along with other ingredients. Everything I needed was there. Also got some mooncakes to share with coworkers. It was high quality cakes compared to most.

As one of the Vietnamese I feels very welcome here, however I wish they did not allow the dirty filipinos and other 3rd worlders in. 5 star when that occur.
