I will not be shopping at this Fred Meyer any more. I was buying two pairs of socks, and the sign above the rack said buy one, get one half off. When I got to the checkstand, however, one of the pairs did not ring up half off. I explained that we got the socks from a rack with the buy one get one half off sign right over it. The socks were Gold Toe brand, and apparently Gold Toe does not qualify for the sale, but a few pairs were on the rack with the other buy one, get one half off socks. I sent my daughter back to the rack to show them that these socks were on the sale rack, but when she got there, the socks were no longer there. An employee had removed them. When she asked where they were moved to, the employee said she had no idea, and the socks were nowhere to be found. They refused to give us the socks for half price (a $8 pair of socks...this would have been $4 we wanted off, it wasnt like it was expensive) and then went as far as hiding the socks from us so we couldnt even find them again. If the store offered good customer service, they would have given us the socks for the price that was listed on the sign. Because of this, I will NOT go back to Fred Meyer. They lost a long time customer because of a $8 pair of socks.

This one-star review is for the Petes Coffee inside the Fred Meyer. This location shows why the in-store "licensed" coffee shops are usually horrible (this goes the same for Starbucks and any other "licensed" store inside another store). The staff isnt trained to the same degree as a "real" Petes Coffee, and standards simply are not the same. The other problem with these licensed stores is that the owner (Fred Meyer, in this case) often have very different employment rules, benefits, and pay than the "real" Petes Coffee stores. In other words -- just because it says "Petes Coffee" doesnt mean its going to taste as expected. HORRIBLE. We had a specialty drink as well as a straight black coffee... and my straight black coffee was horrible and undrinkable. Believe it, or not, I actually tossed it out and started to look forward to "church coffee" as we were on our way to church services. And everyone knows that "church coffee" is usually the low-bar set in the coffee world... but in this case Petes Coffees licensed store in the Fred Meyer beat them out for the worst coffee Ive ever had in my life. A true shame, as I LOVE Petes Coffee normally.

Elfin Slades review serves no purpose other than to encourage xenophobic tendencies. I shop at this store on a regular basis and from what I can tell the experience of the two posters below are anomolies...but then people are more likely to complain than compliment, especially up tight folks that think people should be subjected to only the things that they prefer. Ever stopped to think that musak is offensive to people? You cant make something that is non-offensive. It is impossible. There will always be some group that will take offense. This Fred Meyer is no different than any other. Go there, buy the things you need, expect to be able to find a clerk to help you when need be and then go home. I am glad that this Fred Meyer is so close to home and I enjoy shopping there each time I go there.

Service with a smile and a helpful attitude should be the rule not the exceptions. If they get paid for a coupons. Then they should pay out the coupons if item is returned otherwise I feel they are defrauding the manafacture. If the customer brings in a manufactures coupon whether it be. $.O5 OR $50.00 its part payment for the item being purchased and should be returned in cash, if the item is returned. ACTUALLY this is their policy to return the coupon as cash so the customer service representive should do as company policy dictates and should smile and treat the customer with respect and kindness while they process the return or exchange even if the customer looks like they live under bridge.

Ok prices most of the time but an excellent clearance selection makes it worth the trip. Prices are to high for me here in Portland given the fact that Im from Atlanta where its 10x cheaper, but as it is they are better than a few other places out here. This location has been going through renovations for what seems like forever but probably only a few months and it has been hell trying to find anything here, but again the sales "Trump" all. You can find some gems for fairly cheap if you catch them on the right day.....

I just wanted to thank Fred Meyer for providing good service for me for over 7 years. I recently was burned by Safeway in my neighborhood and I have consistently thought Fred Meyer does well providing all you could need for your house. Ive bought porch swings, breakfast tables, plants, food, pet supplies, hardware, clothing; everything really. I always find what I want and the prices are competitive. The foods are good quality too, so rather than bash all the other grocery stores Ill say Thank You Fred Meyer.

About 98% of the time they have what Im looking for! Great older Freddys, with an electronic department too. Workers have been nice & helpful when needed. Had 1 problem once with a birthday cake not being made for my birthday with a order placed 3 weeks prior. Went to pick it up & nothing...the bakery lady apologized A LOT (it wasnt her fault), made sure it was made & ready the next day, then called the PIC & they ended up comping my cake & giving me a gift card with the amount of the cake on it too (wow!)

All i have to say is DO NOT go to the Jewelers here! And if you do make sure not to have Sean help you!!! Waste of my time! Took advantage of us! And they are not loyal! After two months of waiting for a call back from the manager he did not think it was important enough to cal back!! Done wasting my time here its not worth it! But i did want to make sure no one else was taken advantage of like we were go else where i promise its better then the hastle they give you! -Cynthia Nordstrom!

Fred Meyer is one if those places that has been around as long as I can remember. They carry everything from food to weapons (depending on location), furniture to electronics and pretty much everything in between. Products vary based on location and customer service is hit it miss at times but all in all, they are your one-stop-shopping place. I enjoy shopping for groceries while I wait for prescriptions, checking out clothes and shoes and I love the garden center!

Nice place. Plenty of selections. Anything you need. Only complaint is one of the cashiers, "blonde in her 40s early 50s" talks like a 2 year old, high pitch and you cant understand her with her sad attempts at sounding cute. She needs to act like a professional. Everyone else is very friendly and to the point. Place is a little confusing the way they do there organization.but lots of product to choose from.

Took cashier forever to total and bag items. All the ads in the weekly paper were charged full price for, not sale price. Even after I showed the cashier all the items on sale. Same with the patron in front of me too. There was a big line of people behind me waiting so I finally gave up arguing about it and paid full price for everything. Worst shopping trip of my life!! Very disappointed!!
