WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! If I could give 0 stars, I would. To begin with, I was told the car I was purchasing was one price, then later upon signing the contract that it was $6,000- I was somewhat ok with that. I was sold a car with an open recall. Kevin Clark told me I could take the car to the manufacturer next day and that they would fix the issue- I was also ok with that. When I went there next day, they said they were barely starting to work on models from 2 years ago and that it may be years before they get to mine. They went on to say that Drivetime was not even supposed to sell me a car off their lot with an open recall on it. I was told that it is illgeal to sell a car with an open recall on it and that I need to immediately return the vehicle to DriveTime. When I called Drivetime, Kevin Clark wasnt there so Tuy Nguyen said he could help me out. Tuy said I could return the car if it has not been over 5 days or less than 300 miles. I returned the vehicle a couple days later and upon arrival Kevin said I cant return it. He said I went over the mileage. I live about 100 miles from the DriveTime location. Driving the vehicle from the lot, then back down there to return it is already almost 300 miles. I dont believe this was fair. Tuy started saying its 300 miles OR 5 days, but whichever comes first. This is not what he told me over our phone conversation! Weirdest part is, I was looking over my paperwork that they gave me in the folder and I have two different papers with two different mileages on the vehicle! How do we even know what was the correct mileage? I was told that many people do not even like to deal with DriveTime and that they are only good for when people immediately need cars. Was also told that I could sue Drivetime. So if they still decide they will not accept this vehicle back, I will take legal actions. Because the car was illegally sold from the beginning, it should not matter whether I went over the mileage or not! I was willing to return their vehicle undamaged, in perfect condition. DriveTime does not even want their own vehicle back. Guess they finally found a dummy to get this vehicle and that dummy was me. Kevin had the nerve to ask me to come onto Google and give him a positive review. NOT! Definitely not referring anyone to this company.

STAY AWAY....I REPEAT STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They took $1200 plus $460+ a month for a 10 year old car with 120,000 + miles on it (yes I take responsibility for driving off the lot with it but I was told I could trade it in no problem; never mentioned ANOTHER DOWNPAYMENT). When I was 5 days late because 1. my dad had a stroke and I was dealing with it 2.) I was locked in a jury situation for 10+ hours a day THEY TOOK MY CAR. I had made partial payments at 10 pm at night which amounted to the total that made my account current they said "you made partial payments" ; I did this because I was locked in a room all day and it was what I had on me. They lied from the very beginning and want $500 at every turn to 1, change payment dates if you change jobs or 2.) trade in your car. I got THREATENED by the repo company and they stole a gift card out of my purse to the tune of $500 (I filed a police report). And they said because I "wasnt cooperative" during the whole repo experience they wanted to part ways and wouldnt allow me to get my car back. On top of that the repo company said they "were being nice" giving me my purse back and my medication after they had threatened me and accused me of some intricate car stripping crime. They kept thousands of dollars of work related material & my android phone. If you dont believe me and think Im sour because you think I didnt pay my bill I will tell you I have paid off 10 cars with no problems EVER. I can prove it and I invite you to contact me so that I can show you proof. They stole $2100 for what?! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stars!!! My daughter needed a car in a pinch and bought a car from drive time. The sale went great and all information was provided including proof of insurance. 10 months later Drivetime requested that my daughter send them proof of insurance, so she faxed them our insurance card. 3 months after that she got another call that said they could not accept the insurance card and needed her to send them a copy of the declaration page. so my daughter agreed, but exactly 6 days later Drivetime repossessed her car. They did not give her a deadline or say when she had to have the paper in before they would repossess the car. yet on the day that I survived the terrorist attack at my job IRC, and called my daughter to pick me up she gave me the shocking news that her car had been repossessed that day. for 10 months my daughter made on time payments never missing one, our insurance has never lapsed and has been up to date faithfully every month. But because they dont take insurance cards which is what is required by police officers as proof of insurance , they deemed it necessary to repossess her car. So if you are a responsible consumer, and pay the company on time, while maintaining car insurance, you are treated like a criminal. I spoke to two supervisors who were very unyielding and would not work with us in any way. the cost to get the car back was $425 .00. A very hefty price to pay for a small technicality. 300.00 went to Drivetime, only 125.00 went to the tow company. It appears to me that Drive time does not value its customers, and sets up loopholes to drain your pockets.
