“The Classic Wait-let-me-talk-to-my-manager antics" Why buying a car has to b so difficult and u have to deal with the classic wear-you-out tactics? Should have read the previous reviews on bad experiences on Yelp about this place b4 I even consider to deal with them. This place is one that u should stay clear if u do not enjoy the several rounds of "wait-let-me-talk-to-my-manager" and then the "talk-to-my-manager" B.S. that could last for hours! Saw a car on Craigslist they listed that we wanted, went to their web site and put in an offer price with my contact details. I then received calls from two separate sales persons in addition to followup emails from 2 other guys. The first call from Willy was enthusiastic. Somehow he did not see my offer (in this day and age, this was unfathomable that electronic inputs could be so selectively ignored??) and I had to reiterate it. He called back and provided his counter of about $600 less. I told him that he should consider meeting my offer in between. He said he would "talk to his manager and get back." He didnt until late in afternoon. But not before another sales guy named Richard, who claimed to be a supervisor, called me in a highly obnoxious manner claiming that my first offer was too low, that the counter of $600 less from Willy (a nobody he said) was "unauthorized," and would only stick with the original listed price (Huh?? Either it was a messed up office or every sales person there was trying to elbow each other to meet their own quota). So when Willy called back later, he said my proposed "meet-in-the-middle" price was workable. I reiterated that I did not want to waste my time coming down to hear another story and he affirmed it. When we arrived, there went the so many attempts to belittle and undermine the price we spoke of over the phone - this was none better than the antics of any flimflam used car salesmen lot! They desperately tried to "work the numbers" but still with the original sticker price, trying to justify their supposedly "value-adds" like extended warranty, extra "cap" insurance and so-called "gold package" that when we calculated was up to over $14,000 more than what we were willing to pay! There began the 2 and a half hour of "wait-let-me-talk-to-my-manager" and then the "talk-to-my-manager" B.S. When we lost our patience and decided to leave, they called us back while we were on the road. I once again told them over the phone of our final offer and said they should not waste our time if not agreeable. The sales guy affirmed that it would be done and when we returned expecting to do all the paper work, the arrogant sales manager we last dealt with pulled out 2 other counter offers amounting to a few thousand dollars more than that affirmed that really blew my top! I gave him a piece of my mind and walked out his office. If u are looking for any win-win deals, dont expect it here. If u r looking for a great waste of your precious hours and belittlement, step right in!

Yesterday, we purchased a car from STG Auto, and the entire experience from start to finish was an excellent, because Walid offered the best and most personable excellent quality of customer service we have ever received across retail and other customer service offerings. Contact with STG started with Mike who was hospitable as well, and carried on to Walid as he made sure the cars we wanted too see and test drive were available quickly. The entire staff at STG offer a friendly and courteous environment with patience and nice cool refreshments. Everyone there welcomes you with a genuine smile and were very professional throughout the transaction and answered questions we had patiently. I highly recommend Walid, because he was very calming and assuring as I was nervous purchasing a vehicle from a dealership. ( I hadnt done it in over 10 years). He made me laugh and listened as I voiced my concerns about financing and other car buying jitters. but made the experience an overall pleasant one. We got a great car, for a great price, and I am happy with STG Auto Group in Montclair and look forward to purchasing another car from them in the future. As well, in the evening, I had to return to drop off a pink slip for my trade in and it was kind of late, pass 8 and everyone there were still happy and offered great customer service. I was shocked Walid waited for the pink slip, but was happy, and the deal was completed. He was Awesome with my little boy, who was in a happy, but tired mood. The other genuinely kind members of the STG Family, even offered him some lollipops which goes a long with my son! Stop in, Give them a try, and you more than likely will be happy with purchasing a car from STG Auto Group. Ask for Walid!

My husband and I purchased a 2013 ford explorer from them, they were nice at the beginning. The gentleman who helped us was Michael. He was initially nice. When we saw the car, we saw it had some dent . Scratches, nothing too crazy but needed fixing. Michael said "dont worry we have people who fix that" he assured us they would fix it if we purchased. Well we loved the car. We went a head and purchased, when it came to signing I asked michael if we needed to sign something for the damages and Repairs he said no will fix them. Ok so we signed he explained the paper work, the funny part is, there was a paper where it stated we had to write down everything we wanted to fix and repair. After he handed me the keys I asked him again what do we need to do to fix the damages and repairs? He said we just needed to call he even said to make sure we make an appointment because they have a lot of cars and would be better to schedule for it. I said ok thank u so much and we went off. I called for appt to take care of everything and the gentlemen said he needed to see my "due bill" the due bill I ended up finding out was part if our paper work where they had to notate everything we wanted repaired based of off what we saw. Well after I asked more than twice we saw our due bill and its funny because my husband is very detailed to reading what he signs, we read everything even the long contract, how the hell did they sneak it in there Is my question. My husband and I were furious When we tried taking the car back in for the repairs, they stated we had to pay for any repairs out of our pocket. All I have to say is Please be careful and if you see damages make sure u ask them for the "due bill" to have any repair u write down done.

Theyre so cheap! It is like they just make their cars look good and fancy at the lot, but once gone, the cars are quick to come to problems that should have been checked as soon as the car arrived at the lot. I was promised to get some stains off before leaving that day, did not receive it. I was promised that I would get an extra key, did not recieve it either until I bugged them about it. Even then, I did not get it until months later. A week after my purchase, oil change. Couple weeks passed, I needed new breaks and an air filter. Wait, look its winter now, windshield wipers need to be replaced. Oh now I need new tires. Also, just because I may look young and my parents look like air heads DOES NOT mean we do not know how to purchase a car. The dealer who dealt with us that day tried to sell the car to us with a ridiculously high interest rate. First, not to brag, but the dealer was AMAZED at my parents credit score and even admitted to not having a high interest rate. But then he gave us the interest rate and my father, unpleased, said that we were better off buying a new car with that interest rate, he left the office to "talk to the manager" and came back saying, "while I was here explaining, my manager was on the phone calling banks seeing if others are willing to give a lower rate and found one!" But how was he so quick to talk to multiple banks if it was not even ten minutes after giving us the initial interest rate? They are SO cheap on car maintenence and try to rip people off when it comes to purchasing a car. Just like my father told the dealer, we are better off with a new car, and we should have gone through with that or just leaving without a car would have been a better deal.
