To start off: this is the only time I have ever written a bad review on any business. I typically hate even the idea of doing this because I often read these and think "this guy or gal is just bitter and overinflating the situation." I know people at jobs can have bad days, be off a bit, and thats not worth griping about. This case was different enough for me to break from my "Sa La Vie" ideology. First, I should have known these guys were horrible just from the fact they couldnt schedule a maintenance check properly and I had to actually call them to not only confirm the appointment, but they had to switch it up so I could come in that same day. The reason I took my car in to this dealership was because my brakes were not working properly and it happened to be close to my residence. I so regret even wasting my time with them now. They not only wanted to charge me 5500 just for parts, but when I asked for the codes (mechanics use them to source problems on a car), they couldnt even give me the full and proper ones. The guy helping me said he didnt even know what the codes were because that wasnt his job. And as far as his response to the parts - "hey, I dont make the prices." I figured something was up for two reasons. No one comes out of the gate with repair costs like that unless they are hoping you get rid of the car, or they want you to spend a lot of money because they figure you are ignorant about your own car. After calling many mechanics to get prices, etc., each one of the mechanics said I should get my car out of that garage. It made me think they had possibly had a bad reputation. All I can say is some of them even backed up my idea that these guys might be doing something shady. After doing some calling around I found a great place called Atomic Auto who would look at the car. To give you an idea how badly I wanted my car out of there, I was willing to drive it with shoddy brakes for over 20 miles just because of the friendly way and good information these guys at atomic had. After talking with the owner at atomic, taking it in and having it looked at, the problem seemed to be simply to clear out the old codes. All of a sudden my car was driving fine again. Subsequent tests revealed nothing wrong with the ECU, or the brakes. The place I took it to didnt even charge me for the service. The thing that bothers me the most, is how not only was McCord Vancouver Toyota willing to let me think my car was toast, they were willing to endanger me and their own staff by not checking out this problem. They were willing to try and sell me parts I didnt need replaced at high prices, unwilling to check their own work, or even be knowledgeable about what they were doing. These people have broken the cardinal rule of any business in my book - they made money more important than their reputation. I do not doubt this place has high turnover, frustrated employees, and a reputation amongst other places as dishonest. It says something when people in your own field dont trust you. it says something when a guy who never writes bad reviews writes one.

I recently had my Lexus RX serviced at Toyota Vancouver dealership. I normally take it to Lexus of Portland for regularly scheduled matinence, but decided that since I am so impressed with the Toyota product and Toyota Vancouver dealership is close and convienent, I would take a chance. I have to say that I was disappointed in not only the service I received, but when my car was "ready for pick up", not only had it not been vaccumed or washed...a standard service provided at Lexus of Portland, but the window switch (part of the reason behind the serivce needed) was completely left DANGLING in the door! The person at the payment counter took some money off the bill, but my husband had to put the switch panel back in because a service tech was not available to do it! I was shocked. What kind of professional company conducts business like this?! I brought my car in for service, and still had to have my husband finish the job! Then when we went into the dealership to "file a complaint", we were told to get on the website and write one since there was no one there to speak to at the time. Currently my car is in need of some similar work that was performed by their techs and I have to say...I am going out of my way to take it back to the lexus dealership because I am CERTAIN, when I pick it up, I will not have to have my family finish the work! The extra money that Lexus of Portland may charge at this point is worth it. Not only is my car clean when I get it back, but they provide a loaned vehicle so I am not out transportation while my car is in their care AND the work is fnished! I understand that the superior service provided by Lexus of Portland may not be something Toyota Vancouver dealership is willing to "fund" and I have later discovered that the customer has to request a car wash as not everyone wants their car put through the auto wash...having said that, I was not informed that I would have to request a car wash and how hard is it to vaccume out the car?! I get that service from Express Lube when my oil is changed! Unhappy and UNIMPRESSED.

Horrible customer service. If I could Id given zero stars. First I live two hours away from them but my mom surprised me with a car she bought for me from mccords. Shes down in California. So I show up to pick the car up that was paid for 100%. I inadvertantly left my wallet at home I did have other picture ID and proof of insurance but I wasnt allowed to take the car that legally wasnt theirs anymore. I had to make another 2 hour trip the following day to get my car. Since I live in Oregon I had to get a Vin inspection from the DMV. Which I did the lady at the DMV told me that thats all I needed the lot doesnt need a copy since its filed with the DMV. Two weeks go by and I have to go get another trip permit because I hadnt received my plates yet. I get a call from Mccords saying they have been sitting on my paperwork because they needed the Vin inspection paper so I mailed it to them. Which turns out they didnt need it because two weeks later it was mailed back to me with a letter stating my paperwork was sent in to the DMV and my plates are waiting to be picked up at any DMV office. So I go to my local DMV and they have no record of it. Apparently mccords sent it to a DMV office two hours away from me. Which I found out rudely I might add when I called mccords to find out where it was sent. They listed the wrong phone number on the paperwork and the DMV has been trying to contact me because the ten days they give you to pick your plates up has passed. So now I am currently waiting to hear back from the DMV to find out if theyll be willing to send it to my local DMV if not it will be mailed to the main DMV office where it should have gone in the first place where it will take 4-6 weeks to be processed and then mailed to me. In the meantime I will not be able to drive the car for at least 6 weeks because I have already gotten two trip permits which is all your allowed for a vehicle per year. So thanks McCord Toyota awesome customer service.
