I wish there was a way to give 0 or negative stars. I received brake service on August 30th of this year at the Raleigh NC store located off of Capital BLVD. The total of my visit there was super expensive so I decided to get the Pep Boys Credit Card issued by Synchrony bank. While signing up for this card, the young guy at the desk....Johnathan I think, asked for my license to input the information. He entered all of my information in WRONG thus resulting in suspicious activity on my credit report AND had the card mailed to someone else. How do you put in wrong information when I hand you my license with everything correct, Ill never know. Additionally, as if having a credit card mailed to some random person who has access to my account AND making a suspicious reporting on my credit score, my brakes are STILL squealing!!!! After leaving my car at this location for over four freaking hours and spending entirely too much money, my brakes should not be making any type of noise less than a month after service being done. I took the vehicle back to this location and the guy said that he "took my car for a drive and didnt hear anything...that it was just condensation". I purposely sat by the window to see what type of check was being done to my car. I waited for over an hour before my car was even pulled back at EIGHT IN THE MORNING! I was the first person in there so again, the waiting was pointless. Secondly, when he did pull my car back, he drove it around the parking lot and pulled it into a back park where it sat for 40 minutes hidden from plain sight. I guess that was his idea of a test drive. My car was never pulled into the garage nor was it lifted up to take a complete look at the work they had or had not (rather) done. MY BRAKES ARE STILL SQUEALING! Not only was I lied to, but my time was wasted and the problem is not resolved. An idiot working in your store made my account information susceptible to being hacked and fraudulently misused. Had it not been for me getting credit score alerts and avidly checking my mail, I would have never known and some Tom Dick or Jane would have a Pep Boys card with someone elses name on it. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU CAN!!

Stay far away from this place as possible. I have been going to this Pepboys for years and have given this location the benefit of the doubt after several years of misdiagnosis, damaging repairs, etc. But my last incident was the last straw. I NEVER write reviews but I feel that this was absolutely necessary . The beginning of this year I took my Ford Explorer to them due to a check engine light being on. I paid $90+ for an engine diagnostic for them to tell me that it was one thing. I got the car repaired and after three months the check engine light came on again with the same exact code. I called pepboys to ask if they did a full engine diagnostic then why could they not pinpoint this issue as well. To my surprise, like many other encounters they tried to come up with some excuse and refused to properly diagnosis my issue for free. After spending 100s of dollars on getting one thing repaired I now have to get something else repaired. So the final straw was a month ago when I went to get a simple full synthetic oil change on my 2013 chevy camaro. I got an oil change and yesterday my change engine oil soon light came on. This particular oil change last for 5000 miles and with this type of car it takes 6 quarts of oil instead of five. I am highly disappointed and after years of being a loyal customer and spending 1000s of dollars I will never return. After the service manager Ha left, this place has been through several staff and managers and as a result the quality of service has drastically declined.

PEPBOYS NEVER AGAIN!!! Today 29-December 2010, I came to Pep Boys to have alignment and rotation of my wheels done on my Audi A4. Simple job you would think, $74. While the service was done I went shopping with my wife to Triangle Town Center with her car. The service guy called me when the job was finished, so I came to pick up the car. After I paid and walked to my car I noticed the rotation of the wheels was not done. I walked back to the PepBoys and asked why they didnt rotate the tires. Appartently they forgot... Technician walked back to the car, started to move the car and few seconds later the engine dies. He(Josh) tries to start the car another 15 times. It kept dying... Then eventually I told him, maybe thats enough how many time do you want to start the car??? So I asked him what he did to the car. Then he admits, that he cranked up the car around the block. I asked this 20 year old jumpy girl "manager" at PepBoys to at least pay for the tow-truck. Apparently they have nothing to do with this, refused any meaningful discussion. Half hour later I tried to start the car again. It started, so I drove it followed by my wife to Audi service at Capital Blvd in Raleigh. On the way there the engine died 3 times at the intersections. Audi service provided me with a loaner car and now I am waiting to see what they say tomorrow. I am not taking my car to PepBoys again...

Our first experience here was purchasing a light bulb for a brake light - the sales associate found the right one for our vehicle, explained how to install it and when I was a little uncertain, actually wrote the directions down and told me to call if I had any trouble. Nice. Then we brought in my daughters car thinking it needed brakes (she insisted they were no good and had a minor rear-ender which she blamed on them...) Even though we told them we thought it needed new brakes, instead of taking advantage of our ignorance, they told us the brakes were like new and didnt need to be replaced. I like that! My husband had his brakes done there subsequently and while the cost was a little high, they did a good job and we were pleased. He did wait for it and it took a couple of hours (longer than they estimated). But otherwise, no problems. I will say that I wont go back to the Pep Boys on Davis Circle, however, despite the fact that its more convenient to my office. They tried to tell me my 2004 Camry needed a new timing belt - it doesnt have a timing belt, it has a timing chain, and that did NOT need to be replaced. Nice try.

I went to this Pep boys because i was new in town and was familiar with the chain. Ive had several oil changes and purchased a pair of tires a few months back. I only had the money for the oil change and was informed my rear tires were showing the steel belts and how dangerous this was. The problem occurred when i made arrangements with family members to help me with this emergency and utilize their credit card to purchase the tires. Only to be informed by Ramon that they "WILL NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS VIA PHONE" and went back to his business. I said that since Im unable to get the tires drop the car so i can find some place to get my tires. Then i was informed they already drained the oil from my engine. After completing the oil change for 85.00 they sent me off riding the tires they just told me were dangerous. If this is what they consider customer service for someone who has been a loyal customer since my move i can only say BEWARE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. I will never go back and would never recomend this establishment.
