The gentleman that I worked with when bringing my bike in for repair was very short and rude. I asked about trading in a bike to buy another and I was told, very abruptly, that they did not take used items. Instead of asking me about what bike I would like to purchase, I felt as though I was snubbed. I would have been HAPPY to purchase another bike at Freewheelin; and would have been an easy sell. In fact, I even told the gentleman that I worked with as such on my way out. I should have taken my business elsewhere to get the repairs done as well, however I didnt have the time to go to another shop. I am the president of a local university and also offered to include Freewheelin in our student packets if he would be interested in offering a small discount to our students/staff if they showed proper ID. I was, again, answered with a very rude "Im not interested." There are at least 7 different bike shops in Virginia Beach; needless to say I will not go back to the shop again for any repairs or purchases, nor would I recommend their services to anyone.

I wouldnt even give this place a 1 star..... Horrible horrible I repeat horrible, disrespectful, and rude people that run this business. Im shocked they get any business really. The guy that runs the place is a complete A-hole. Told me a bike I was building was basically a European bike and nothing they could order would fit it. Tried to get $100 out of me to machine the neck to where their parts would fit so I walked out the door. Called the mnfr of my frame and they said this frame accepts any standard hardware for a beach cruiser so I ordered standard hardware online and what do you know it all fit perfect. Like a glove. The man at the bike shop argued with me prior to me ordering saying hes been doing it 40 + years and there was no way it will work. He obviously is very incompetent and doesnt have a clue what he is talking about. BEWARE people this guy is a crook!

Ive come here a few time the past year. This place is great and the people are very helpful. Ive been to multiple shops looking for parts and it seemed like they were all salesmen worried about selling the highest priced item without even showing any other options unless questioned. This place was straight to the facts and showed me a veriety of options without me having to say anuthing. He explained how the more expansive one of what I needed was literally priced because of brand name/history. Went with the medium priced and left happy. To the girl that said one of the employees was abrupt and what not. Pretty sure she is uptight. Ive dealt with all of the crew and and I appreciate an honest and to the point answer to all of my questions. I could throw 20 questions in a row and I always get more information then I expected.

Terrible! I took my husbands 30 year old bike in for a tune-up which, we were told over the phone, costs $50. They changed the tires and adjusted one brake ($97), didnt touch the chain or derailer. When I inquired about the tune-up, I was told by one person that I didnt specify I wanted one. The manager told me they dont have a tune-up package and do not perform unnecessary work. Anyway, I feel completely ripped off and would not recommend this store.

Looked you a local shop and found this one. I called about my problem and they said to bring it in. I took it in on a Mon and they said it should be done by Thur night, and then they called and said it was ready the very next night. Estimate was reasonable and the final bill was as they said. Great service and they were true to their word on what needed to be done and the cost. Highly recommend them to anyone needing bike service.

They have a good selection of bikes I guess but when I was asking questions to one of the employees he was talking to me like I was an idiot and being condescending. Just because Im not an expert on bikes doesnt mean Im dim witted. I went to Contes bike shop instead where they have better bikes and much better service.

Rude staff. Condescending attitude. Buy your parts online, these guys massively overcharge & sneer at you while doing it. Apparently, if youre not buying an expensive bike or having them work on it, youre not worth their time. If this was the last bike shop on planet Earth, I still wouldnt go back.

Incredibly friendly staff, very helpful. Im 52", so I wasnt expecting them to have the frame size I needed, but they had it in stock for much less than we originally expected to pay. Great experience. Especially considering the way I have been treated in the past at some of the shops in Norfolk.

Despite what the other review below says, it is in fact, right where the address says it is. Its in the shopping center that is next to the Library on Virginia Beach Blvd. VERY friendly staff! Its a small shop, but the service is much better then most of the bigger stores in the area.

Great shop! I visited five local bicycle shops to find the parts that I needed, and I could have gotten them all at Freewheelin in one stop. In addition to having all three of the things I needed (common 9 speed shimano road bike parts), the guys here were the ONLY shop to greet me.

I blew out a tire on a bike I had just bought ofg craigslist. I googled a bike shop to have it fixed. From the time I walked in to leaving with a ready to ride bike was ten minutes. Very friendly and helpful, I highly recomend going to these guys.

I called to see if they could replace a pedal for me. The person on the phone was nice and said that if they have the part in stock, they will replace it while I wait. This makes me a happy lady. Wish I could get the bike in there sooner.
