Im on my way this morning to pick up my third bike from them. Bike Line carries Trek, Scott. The manager Howard is THE most knowledgeable guy I know about bikes and accessories. He has been in the business forever. Before I buy, I research all the bikes I am interested in. Then I test ride them. I always save Howard for last because I value his opinion of the other bikes. Yesterday I went to his shop in the really cool old college town of Newark. I explained all of my personal requirements and detailed the components I thought I needed. He walked me over to a Scott mountain bike and calmly explained in detail why that bike was better for me than the others that I had been considering. His honesty and integrity are beyond reproach and I trust his opinion implicitly. For my next bike, Im going to save my valuable time and just go to Howard and have him hang the bike of his choice on my bike carrier and split. If you Have the time, and want to take more time to enjoy the experience, Howard will fit you (initial fit) to any bike you choose. Then he checks all of the shifter adjustments and tire pressures. Next you hit the paved bike tail next door and ride to your hearts content. Then you explain any concerns that you have and Howard makes the necessary adjustments or switches you to a different bike When you make a decision, Howard performs a professional fitting with you so you have the best fit possible. They are located in Delaware, a sales tax-free state. So that alone saves you 6% to 7% just for walking through the door. If you purchase the service plan for something like $80 bucks, you can your have your bike tuned up for 5 years at any Bike Line dealer for FREE. If anyone can find a better deal, I would be surprised. If you go, tell Howard that Tim sent you. He supports the Police Unity Tour, Our chapter rides from Philly to DC for National Peace Officers Week every year. I want him to know that he is appreciated. He earned it.

I am looking at some of these reviews and cant help but feel they are paid to write these great reviews. So, I will throw my opinion in the ring. They are hit or miss. Agree that they love to shut down and leave right on time or just before their closing time. Experienced that one. No problem. However, the first time I went in the sales person who helped me... well, asked me what I needed... was very aloof. I asked a question and he went to get an answer as he didnt know. He never came back and began to help someone else. Point taken, I can get the same bike elsewhere and did. Then I needed a particular bike for my son and they had the bike. I sent my wife in to manage that transaction. It went over just fine. So, again, hit or miss. I guess I will write the first experience off to the caliber of people they hire and managements expectation of them.

Brought my bike in to ask how much a new chain would be, first they told me its not worth fixing for 170.00 dollars and it would be cheaper to just buy a new bike then the guy told me they have to replace both front and rear gears as well as the chain for the new one to work. Stood around for almost 20min before that for assistance on that question. These mechanics are young kids that dont even know probably half the stuff I know about bikes. Also had new wheel put on by them and left I stopped on the jogging trail next to the business to check the bolts to make sure they were tight and they were not snug tight. Theres a saying(when u want things done right u gotta do it itself) which I have been doing.

Both purchased a bike and had them perform a tuneup/recondition on a gifted ladies bike. These people are flat-out good to deal with. Super, super customer service. Experienced a minor problem with the ladies bike - they were embarrassed and insisted that they should have caught it and rectified the error immediately. Most important - its such a pleasure to deal with employees with a smile on their face. Thank you Bike Line.

I recently purchased two Trek bikes here and the process could have have gone more smoothly. Howard and Dave are both very knowledgable and helpful. Prices and deals on my bikes and accessories were very good and Howard was very accommodating in that respect. Only wish this shop was closer to me, or at least a Bike Line location in Jersey!

These guys are a bunch of douchebags. I called at 6:55 asking if they sold bells for kids bikes for my son. They said yes, and i promptly said ill be there in 5 minutes. Well in 5 minutes they closed, and nobody informed me on the phone. When we get there at 6:59 they are closing up and wouldnt sell me a stupid bell. Screw them.

I come in for a tube replacement, got that, took a whole hole.. My bike was functioning perfectly for the 4 months that I had it. They also did some maintenance free of charge. My bike chain fell off 20 times in one mile. Worse experience with a bike shop in my life. They dont even offer to help fix it after destroying my bike.

This place was great, I went there because they had bikes for rent and being from out of town I needed one to ride the trails. They were very informative about the trails in the area and groups that road regularly. 25$ gets you a bike for 24 hours. Nice selection there for buyers as well, along with a loft full of sale items.

I took my bike in a few weeks ago for adjustments to my V brake pads and cables. Ive only used it twice since then and the pads are all out of alignment and dont work right. Considering the amount of money I paid for it this should have lasted me months. Service and other products are overpriced as well.

Howard the manager was a great guy with tons of experience. Although Im only getting into mountain biking, he broke down everything and fitted the perfect bike for me. I could tell he wasnt trying to just sell me. Nice store, great selection on hand, and awesome staff. This place is legit!

I got my dads old bike fixed up a long while ago and they did a fantastic job; its lasted me for a good two years without any major maintenance concerns popping up. Ive also come in a few times for minor maintenance, and theyve done all of that for free so far.

Yes, Howard is the man! He handled the warranty on my 1997 Klein Mantra, and since they were no longer being made, I was upgraded to a NEW 2003 Klein Palomino, which is a much better bike. ...That was ~10 years ago, and I still have it today, 2013.

Ive had nothing but good experiences here. Lots of courtesy work done on the spot and at no charge: brake alignment, air in tires (once the tube blew as they were filling it and they replaced it at no charge), oil for chain. Theyre happy to help
