Last semester (spring 2014), I rented only book there and the day I went to return it, the guy who happened to receive the book assured that I didnt need need the receipt. Well, at the beginning of this semester, I received a notification that I still owed the book. I ignored it because I thought it was simply a mistake. Well today I received a letter warning me that if I didnt return the book they would take punitive action... I was shocked. I called them and they, of course, they said that the book doesnt appear on their records, whatever. And obviously, I didnt have the blessed receipt. What else could I do? Of course, Im under the threat of punitive action, which I cant afford and I had to pay the book plus the fine, what else could they have done? So, of course I will never ever set a foot there during the rest of my career. Ill pay more elsewhere rather then going there who stole my money, because thats what they did. And of course they do it with students who are struggling to pay for their education. If you happen to go there and rent a book, demand the people who work there (very attentive and efficient btw...) to give you the blessed receipt that they received the book. Hope you enjoy my money U bookstore!

I rented some books there at the beginning of the semester. I got a call in the middle of the semester saying that they had screwed up my order, and they needed my card again. I had to go back into the bookstore in person, fill out more paperwork, and give them my card again. Then, at the end of the semester, instead of sending me out an e-mail telling me which books to return and by what time, they just billed my card. I called the bookstore to figure out why I never got an e-mail, was transferred to customer service, then to another womans assistant, who hung up on me after saying she would transfer me to a voice mail. I called back and was sent straight to the bookstores voice mail. I called back later and left a voice mail for the woman that I was supposed to talk to. She called me back and told me that since I had signed the contract they were going to bill me anyways and that they dont actually have to send out an e-mail, even though she insisted one was sent to me (I never received an e-mail). I felt that the bookstore didnt care about me as a customer and were not particularly interested in fixing their mistakes, only in collecting as much money as possible. I will not buy anything there again.

Books are way overpriced. No customer service. Bought a textbook, when it didnt arrive for over a month I went to see what the problem was. Several times they told me it was on its way but they had no way to track it. Turns out they forgot to order it. So I went half the semester with out the text. They didnt offer to discount the price for their mistake or do anything else. When I asked if they could do anything about it they said no. Dont bother going in unless its to burn that student screw over establishment to the ground.

An anecdote thats very relevant: we went to Arches National Park and nowhere around there did we find better merchandise about it than the bookstore at the U has. Also, if you have children that are interested in science or art, youll have a very hard time finding supplies for them if the bookstore wasnt an option. It was easier in San Antonio, TX to find lenses for a microscope than it is in the entire Salt Lake Valley. This is my go-to for that sort of thing.

As a student I rented books from this establishment and returned them at the end of the semester. They charged me for the market value of the books a few months later claiming I hadnt returned them. According to the manager, it was my responsibility to hold onto the receipt for 3+ months indicating my books had been returned. Without it I had no proof and was charged $400. When renting books here, always always keep your receipt when you return.

Its good, usually has a little bit of everything from gift cards to technology. Also has a Starbucks inside and some food. Only thing is anything with a utes symbol is overly priced You can find a water bottle for $10 and the same waterbottle, same color and everything in the same store, with a utes symbol, itll now be $20. Employees of the U get 15% off and if you parkin the paid parking and you buy something they will validate up to an hour.

Improvement has been made since the lockers have been removed and you can bring your bags in the store. Makes it a lot easier to buy smaller items on multiple trips without a hassle. Staff is always willing to help out. Sometimes theres not enough checkouts open. Biggest complaint is book buyback. Books will be rejected if you underline or take notes, which lead me to sell on Amazon.

I love the campus store! Its nice to sit near the Starbucks cafe and work. They have really everything you need here, even tech stuff like Ethernet cables, or art supplies.. Even repair tools! Everyone is super helpful and its always clean. I wish there was more seating around the cafe, but other than that, its great! They got a new front entrance recently which looks awesome, too.

One stop shop for most things. I asked a cashier for the location of some art supplies and he said they did not carry that type of product. The next day I asked someone else and they knew what I was talking about and directed me right to what I was looking for. Moral of the story? Ask around, not everyone knows what they are talking about.

Always had good service here but WOW are things overpriced. Seriously had to buy socks for my husband and of course they only had U merchandise socks, but the cheapest single pair were $10 and the worst quality too! Just wish they didnt try to gouge students for so much money considering how freaking expensive tuition is.

I dont recommend to buy text book from store, because that is always expensive, but the good thing is you can rent book from there. One more thing is dont go there for fix your computer! They charge a lot, and always want to replace something of your computer (they dont know how to fix it), which is expensive

You dont shop here for textbooks. You do shop here for U clothing and accessories. There is not such thing as customer service. I know kids steal but dont ask me to lock up my motorcycle helmet when it will not fit in the tiny lockers.

Not only does it have a Starbucks, but also a wide variety of school supplies ranging from staplers to laptops. Its also convenient for quick lunches for it provides a wide variety of premade foods.

suggested the wrong edition book for my class, math 1070. I have to spend an entire semester looking at PDF scans to complete homework. Check with your professors before renting or purchasing a book.

Very convenient place of campus to get office supplies, snacks, and U of U gear. Most staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They have a post office and coffee shop inside.
