I was horribly disappointed at this RadioShack. I needed a voice recorder because I had an important phone interview for a school project. My interview was in the morning so I needed to get a recorder early. The website said this location would open at 9 when the other nearer me opened at 10. So, I drove the extra distance to this one to pick up the recorder early. My interview was at 10 AM. I arrived at 9:20 and the store was still not open. I waited until about 9:50 at the door and still nobody showed up and the lights in the store were dark. The sign on the outside of the building confirmed they were opening at 9 AM that day but the opening manager must have slept in or something. I ended up having to go to the Office Max down the street and paying more. I was then late to call on my phone interview and it was extremely frustrating and embarrassing. I will not be trying to visit RadioShack again. I am extremely glad I didnt choose to order the recorder online and pick it up in the store. I would have been even more mad if I already paid and nobody was there for me to pick it up.

Go away, radio shack. The service was the worst Ive ever had a retail store. I stood there for at least 30 awkward seconds in front of two employees while they were chatting about what they did the night before. They both knew I was there. Then when they finally asked me what I wanted their tone was aggressive, they acted as though I didnt know anything about buying a 3.5 mm jack cable, and the cable was ridiculously overpriced. So much that I didnt buy it, drove around the corner to another store and got what I needed for a quarter of the price with actual good service. Ill never step foot inside a radio shack, unless of course I can gloat over their going out of business sale where everything is 75% off.

This is why they went bankrupt. Antiquated return policy. Piss poor customer service. Went in described my issue they gave me something that "might" work, and then when it didnt demanded the packaging to a 6", yes inch, hdmi to aux cord before they could return. Told me to call 1800- the - shack to get them an approval before they would return without packaging. Then ignoredy phone calls when I called them back because the customer service team is closed. Wont be long before they go under again. Goodbye Radio Shack.

The amount of stuff they have for DIY seems to get less and less all the time. It is still a good place to go for a few small electric components, but several times I have gone and they were sold out of what I wanted. shouldnt be that hard to manage a store with such seemingly low item count. The staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable, but often they are busy at the cash register, because it seems that somehow they manage to make checking out as slow as ever.

The Radio Shack stores in general are disappearing rapidly from SLC, this is the only place I know of that you can buy small electronics for DIY ers
