Buyer Beware…I ordered numerous pieces of furniture from Bassett with the expectation of receiving professional service and high quality products, only to be extremely disappointed. One of the most unprofessional, unorganized and non-communicative companies doing business today. The interior design service is nothing but a complete joke. HGTV should reconsider who they co-brand with as Bassett is definitely devaluing the HGTV brand. The “designer” came to the house yet I’m still confused as to what she designed, arranged or decorated. After so-called “measuring” the dimensions of the room, one would think the furniture would fit. A completely normal assumption, right? Not when you’re dealing with Bassett. Perhaps the sales rep missed that day of “design” school. I am paying for a service, product and not to mention your paycheck, do your job correctly! The furniture arrived with defects. Really? Idiocy trickles down from the store manager to the sales rep. You’re better off buying your furniture from Wal-mart.

Overall, the store is easy to find, clean and has great parking;however, once inside, over-priced furniture and an uppity saleswoman await you. We were greeted by a very sweet sales associate and, in hindsight, I should have stayed with her to ask question. The sales associate that accosted us further in the store was arrogant, insulting and overall, menacing. She managed to be offensive with her answers to my questions and insinuated I did not recognize quality furniture. I was there helping my friend select an item so she was not very focused on me, even though I asked the questions. After her offensive remarks about my lack of tactful furniture, we left and went to Havertys, bought what we wanted, and left with a new friend, a kind sales associate!

I just purchased a custom sofa at the Selma location and wanted to share what a pleasurable experience it was (customizing furniture usually isnt for me). Germaine was the designer I worked with and I would highly recommend her to everyone. The other designer there also helped with the perfect customized pillows. At this point, I cant say enough to emphasize the ease of the purchase.....as stress free as it can possibly be. Barbara
