In short: I experienced a problem, they went above and beyond to fix it, resulting in giving me an entirely new product. In long: I bought a racquetball racquet there a few months ago. Its a Wilson Lobo. I broke a string about two months after purchasing the racquet - so, I took it back and asked to have it restrung. They failed - essentially, they tried to restring the racquet, but the strings broke as they were doing it. This was technically their fault, and they realized this. I spoke with Brexton over the phone - the fellow that tried to restring it. He apologized and told me to come in and speak to his manager, Paul. When I arrived, Paul greeted me, explained the problem, and not only gave me a brand new racquet, but also gave me a $5 off on my next purchase. Thank you Brexton and Paul - you now have a customer for life. Cheers, Evan

This is a great place to find specific items for your recreational needs. They have a lot of things you might not have thought about for your activities. If youre into the typical sport they will likely have what youre looking for. I went in looking for archery supplies. Awesome selection... for children. If your an adult looking for a variety I would suggest elsewhere. They do have minimal selection but not fit a good price. I was surprised by this due to the archery range they have next door. And no the supplies are not at the range. Although they dont have much for purchase for archery youll be happy to know they have everything youll need to shoot a few arrows.

I went here for a specific item and actually called ahead to make sure it was in stock (I asked the guy twice). He said yes both times and so I went. When I got there the item was intact NOT in stock - that being said... The manager on duty; James, saved the day with a better deal. I have a big opinion when it comes to customer service and he handled it to a tee! Thanks for making it up to me! Ill be back!

We dont got often to this store, but when we go we always come out with something. This store is always very clean and the check out is quick, Im glad it offers swimwear all year long (youll never know when u need some of it) we had found tennis shoes at a really good price, my youngest daughter wears their brand tennis shoes and they are really good quality and great price.

Ive spent a lot of money in their store- and I mean a lot. Bought about 10 new guns from them since they opened. No more. Im taking my business elsewhere. Their policy on 22 shells is just ridiculous. Im just not going to tolerate the stupidity anymore. So instead of getting mad about it- Im just going to take my money elsewhere. Itll be a cold day in hell before I go back.

There was a staff member named Brexton who was super understanding and kind! He was able to help me do something so last minute and thanks to him I had a great outcome! As for the rest of the staff, they were very friendly and always on their feet to help a customer! Big, big thanks to the Academy staff (especially Brexton!!!)

I usually love this place but today I didnt! Okay so they have all these back to school signs so we go in and look for shool clothes but that didnt have any. They said u have to get the school clothes online! REALLY!!!!! What is the point of having back to school signs if u dont have any school clothes!

I come to the Garland store from Rockwall which is the closest one. We do have a Dicks close by home but Id rather take the long drive to Academy which has better selections for my taste and better prices. Also, much friendlier than Walmart or Dicks.

Great sporting goods store, plenty of selection, helpful staff and clean store. Ive had a few problems finding things in my size here, Im average sized, but the staff is always helpful with ordering it for me and having it delivered to my house.

The item I wanted did not have a price on it. There was only one cashier to ask but she was on the phone, so I dropped the item and walked out without making a purchase. I suppose Academy isnt interested in making money today.

Location is very convenient and the prices are very good. Selection is fair. But the employees except for the cashier, are fairly useless. Thats the major weak link earning a three star review. Academy has declined.

Very clean, organized location. Has the typical assortment of products that you would expect at an Academy - with both name brand products as well as Academy branded versions that provide a great value.

Its an Academy, just like any other. And after being out of Texas for 3 years, thats a good thing. If your not familiar with Academy, its like dicks, but a little bigger, and slightly better prices.

Nice store, but the kids that work there are not very helpful and will try and avoid you. If you know what you want them go here. Nice gun selection and have lots of different types of ammo.

A typical Academy, but i feel theyre understaffed, ita hard trying to find a store associate to help you out sometimes. Returns are a hassle here too.
