Buyer beware! Ask lots and lots and lots and lots of questions! We purchased a new fish locator (Lowrance Elite 5) that was on sale; it also had a mail in rebate. First problem was that I had to ask the cashier for the paperwork for the rebate and was given the wrong forms. I ended up going on-line and finding the correct rebate forms myself. No big deal but annoying. Second problem: I registered the fish locator on Lowrances website and was informed there is no warranty on it....at all! Third problem: I called Gander Mountain and they couldnt come up with an explanation as to why there isnt a warranty on it and no offer from them to find out why. Their recommendation was to purchase Gander Mountains 2 year warranty. Problem is that I live 2 hours away and I was told I would have to "return the item and re-purchase it with their warranty on the same receipt." This would have been extremely helpful to know during the original purchase! Not only do we not have the standard 1 year warranty, we would have to drive 4 hours round-trip to pay an additional $60 for a warranty.

So often people like to comment about negative experiences and I just want to make sure I take the time to mention a very positive experience at Gander Mountain in Fargo, ND. I came into Gander Mountain to see what was new and looking for spring fishing. I ran into the store manager, Warren. I have to say Gander Mountain has the right person in place with his role. Warren greeted me into the store and gave me a feeling that I was a very valued and appreciated customer. We spoke about the new remodel and how beautiful the store in Fargo now looks. Warren spent the time to show he really cared about the store and the guests frequenting Gander Mountain. With this type of leadership Gander Mountain in Fargo is on the right track and scores a 10 plus with my experience. Not only did I get positive feedback from Warren but every employee I spoke with gave me a feeling of I am part of the family. I can guarantee, I will repeat this experience to the multiples of my outdoor friends. Great job to Warren and the Gander Mountain staff in Fargo.

My experience was horrible, I clicked one star so this could be posted. There were signs on the floor that were 8 days old, yet they wouldnt honor the price. As a former gander employee I can honestly say I will never shop at gander again, and not just the Fargo one, my experience ruined it for the whole company. At checkout the customer service associate didnt make matters any better. First, he told me he wouldnt honor the price they had posted, he then proceeded to ask me to spend more money by purchasing a protection plan. Maybe JUST MAYBE I would have considered it had they honored their own price, but considering they refused, why the hell would I spend more money than I already am?! Whats the purpose of an archery range if no one is around to show you it, or at least tell me how much it costs to use it?

Bought a few items on line in the last few days. I enjoy the online coupons and the ability to use Paypal when shopping online. Such as save 10 dollars when shopping on line for orders of $100. These things can add up. I also took note that the store had signs up outside to promote the online sales and pick up in store. I found that when I purchased items online, and waited for the email to be picked up in store, it often took a few hours just for them to grab the item off the shelf so it was ready for pickup. I even went into the store, grabbed the item off the shelf, walked up to the counter and they told me to come back when I received the confirmation message in my email. Mind you the SKU numbers matched. Very disappointed with their advertised Pick up at the store Program.

I had a great experience. The only downside is the guns were behind the counter so I couldnt look at them freely like Scheels which is a huge inconvenience. Often I have noticed that there wasnt enough employees to show people the guns and there was often people waiting. This is not very good service. The reason I rated it 4 stars is because the last time I went Michael who works at the guns section was one of the best employees I have talked to at a gun store. He was great with answering question. He was very knowledgeable and he showed excitement in the products he was selling. He was also very friendly and easy to get along with. I think Im going to be buying my next gun their now instead of Scheels because those guys are always crabby and dont really like helping you.

This review is for Benjamin at the Fargo, ND Gander location. At the end of June I was in a rush to find a very hard to locate part to fix our volley ball net pole we were going to set up at our campsite. Benjamin took one look at the picture my husband sent me on my phone and knew exactly what it was and went out of his way to get me the part, actually taking it off of a floor model of a grill so that I could walk away with it that day. I think he could tell I was rushing with a list of things before we were heading out of town for the 4th of July weekend. Kudos to Benjamin for his great customer service and for going the extra mile. You have a gem of an employee on your hands.

As always gander has most of what you need.. The problem this time was a gun purchase. I bought a single shot 12g rifled barrel for deer hunting, has a scope rail I might add. Of course I buy a nice scope and the "sales person" said they will grab the rings for the scope and they mounted and bore sighted it... But they must have missed the part where they need to be able to close the gun... Scope rings were to small and the hammer just bashes the scope.. Couldnt believe it.. It was the first thing I noticed.. Now I have to leave out of town for opener and have a non working gun.. Please open at 7 am so I can fix this.. Lol long shot but please help..

Bought a savage 17 hmr. Couldnt get it to hold tight groups so had em send it back. Took almost a month for them to get it to savage cuz they forgot to ship it. Still havent got it back since the Woodbury store lost it and somehow sent it back to savage. Seriously the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The only saving grace was a lady named Terry or Kari, I cant remember, but she was the one that finally found the gun and got it on track. Will never buy a weapon of any kind from this company again. Good luck to anyone else. Still dont have the gun and took it to the store in June.

I am a frequent flyer at the gander mountain in Fargo, have been for years. It is clear to me that the employees there love what they do, always very helpful and willing to go the extra mile. I have never had a bad experience walking into this store, even on the busiest of days. In fact, that store has been without a store manager for months and the assistant managers Jon and Terri have managed to keep things running smoothly, youd never know they were short a manager. I really enjoy shopping here and will continue to do so!
