Me and my family visited Academy Sports today and unfortunately our experience there was less than pleasant. My daughter stepped on a security tack (not sure why there were so many in the dressing room), but it penetrated her foot and her foot starting bleeding. There was blood everywhere. We told the workers what happened and they looked at as like what would you like for us to do?!?! We asked for something to help with the injury and they brought a bandage. No wet towel, no ointment, nothing that would get the blood off the ground or her foot, I mean NOTHING. Then I got hostile because at this point I feel as though you have no empathy at all for my childs injury caused by YOUR establishment. I FINALLY received ONE alcohol bad and a SMALL dry crumbled paper towel. All of this going on, noone asked if she was okay, noone asked if In wanted to speak to a manager, noone acted as if they even cared, only that they were frustrated at even having to help the likes of someone LIKE us (black). Thanks for nothing Academy.

Went to purchase pool on sale that I called prior to going there and said they had 15 on hand. Lady at customer service attempted to ring up my purchase. I showed her the sale paper and item number of pool I wanted to purchase. She waited about 5 minutes before calling someone on the phone to help me and said I needed to go to the back of the store to show employee on the phone which pool I wanted even though there was a pallet of what I wanted right next to her. At this point I just drag one from beside her to a regular chaser and get cashed out. Guy standing there holding onto a 2 wheel dolly never once even bothered to help me or to load it. Drug it outside and loaded it myself in the rain. Never again will I shop this academy. I always go to Arlington way better customer service. I did call the manager and he said he would resolve the issue but not going back to find out.

Pull up to Academy to purchase some items and what I see. ... Old man get out his Cadillac with a handgun in his hand. ...no holster nothing. .just walked right on in the store like that. ... Just wondering if it was me, would I have been able to walk in like that...or would I have been escorted out? Not to mention when I walked in the greeter spoke to the lady who walked in before me but didnt say one word to me! Didnt even say anything to the man that walked in the store with gun. ..cause he walked right back out like it was a remote control in his hand. Third time Ive visited this store and received horrible customer service. Not to mention the staff in the fitness section reaching for boxes and knocked boxes down on the aisle I was on. ....now what if it would have hit me or the kids in that area.

I bought a S&WSD40 VE brand new. It will not chamber a round jamms alot havent even fired it. The day I bought it (yesterday Nov 5 2017 ) got to the parking lot loaded a magazine and it jammed on the first round I trying to chamber. So I went back to the store any they said they could send it back to the manufacturer for repair. And I would have it back with between 3-6 weeks. It was brand-new. And it didnt come with the spent test fire casing. Ive been working on the mag not I can get 2 rounds to chamber as long as there is only 3 round in the magazine the last one always jamms.. no customer saport. Very unhelpful customer service. No one had a clue about anything... Do not buy a firearm from here...

The guy in the guns department, Jason, was very rude! For starters we get up to the counter and he DOESNT greet us. And finally he decides to and still makes us wait. After he approaches us we ask him a question about a gun, his response " Well I dont like .40 caliber so I dont even bother with them!" Okay I dont care if you like them or not, you work here sir, arent you supposed to know about the products you sell?! Im not going to say it was a racial matter but Im sure it had something to do with it cause he was looking at us nasty! If you dont like your job go the hell home and save us the sour taste in our mouths after dealing with your rude ass! For that reason the store gets a low rating!

Academy advertises that they price match firearms but they fail to mention they will only do so if it doesnt hurt their bottom line. I took in an ad and showed them and they told me "we would lose too much money". Dont offer to do this if you arent willing to follow through. I will never return to this store to purchase any firearm related items. Very unfortunate because Ive always heard great things about Academy. Especially since this store is very new they should be a little lenient on things like this. Very disappointed.

Was pretty pumped when I learned an Academy opened nearby, and Ive (along with my girlfriend) spent a decent amount on camping gear, ammo, mags, firearm accessories, etc. Was convenient to have a local place to get all that and they usually have decent pricing for a chain. Pretty disappointed to hear that the corporate leadership lacks intestinal fortitude. Wont be going back now. If Im going to be tracked and put on lists, might as well use amazon or other retailers. Atleast its cheaper that way.

They usually have something that I need, but never everything I came for that any sporting goods store in Texas should have ... they also have things that nobody in Texas could possibly need, like snow shovels ... they have complete morons running their inventory system evidently... I went in for Skin Armor insect repellent soap which Academy in Louisiana has but evidently the people in Texas dont need it according to their inventory people...but theyve got snow shovels!

Went to the gun counter and the man was super helpful. Got a couple shirts and sat in the check out line for too long. There was only 1 person working. Someone from the line asked the manager if they could get someone else to check people out.. didnt happen. Id give more stars but they need more help at noon on a weekday in the summer time

Bad service. Definitely did NOT feel welcome whatsoever! Two men up front were just talking..NOT welcoming anyone in.. our cashier mumbled under her breath when a customer didnt take his receipt..The way she crumbled it and mumbled as he walked away. Throughout whole store no employee said "hello do you need help with anything today?"

I was followed around as soon as I got there, one of the most horrible shopping experiences Ive ever had. I had at least 5 people following me around, and I felt extremely profiled. Whenever I was fished shopping, (purchased a pair of shoes), the lady told the cashier, "check his shoes" . Ill definitely be calling corporate.

I asked 3 people for help finding a product. Three people pointed me in a direction. Three people did not offer to help. Three people acted as if I was nobody!! Three people may be why I wont be back!! FYI... There were only a few people in the store at the time. It was not as if they were over run with customers
