Worst customer service Ive ever had. Ive always came to the store bought ammo, gun, etc. Ive spent thousands of dollars in this store, well needless to say never again. Gander mountain will do a refund for someone who cant read the background check using a legal alien card but wont for a disabled vet. Sad thing is, is that they refund when they want to, how to I know this? Well I bought a smith and Wesson m&p 45 along with extra mags and holster. They wouldnt even return the accessories at first, saying they cant do that, but then all of a sudden they are willing to return the accessories to try and make me happy. I also have a valid LTC and Texas ID. So what will make me happy is that Scott is fired and yall revamp your return policies and your customer service policies. Since gander is a multi million dollar company and they dont wont to refund $700 (unless I dont speak English) make a customer happy I highly doubt anything will chance. So with this being said I will do everything in my power to let your customer base know how biased, rude, and downright shady company they are giving their money too. Please dont respond asking me to email you because frankly you all wont do a damn thing about it. Thanks for you lack of service and integrity Gander mountain, it hasnt gone unnoticed Brandon USMC retired

I came into this store wanting to buy a rifle on 05/07/16. Before I did, I notified a sales representative behind to gun counter that I was paying for a rifle but the rifle was gonna be registered to another peron. Well I dont know if the guy was trying to get a sale or going by the rules but this is what I was told By a "Gander Mountain sales rep" at the Mesquite location.___"put the money on a gift card and give it to the person buying the rifle. So that way your not involved in the purchase."..... So I did what I was told cause I was lead to believe that i was going about it legally to avoid any conflict. Went up there to buy the gun a few days late and they asked how the rifle is gonna be purchased. So replied "with a gift card i gave to my friend"....well this set off a nuclear disaster in the store. I was told to leave and that I cant buy a gun for another person....and this and that...and Yadda Yada bullshit!!!.... then the manager had the audacity to tell me to restrategize my plan...like if I was up to no good. That was pure bullshit!!! I wasnt even given the chance to explain that his employee told me to do the gift card.

I was a victim of credit card theft for $920 and when I called the location to inquire/ask questions/concerned. about the steps that I, the VICTIM, need to take, the manager JOELLE was very rude and not helpful and indicated I needed to file a police report to get additional information. In my opinion, her mannerism was more NOT helpful to ME, the victim, and was trying to sell her number of years in sales, versus being concerned, showed compassion, sympathetic to TRY to help me during this process that I had to take out of my job to go to the bank, cancel the credit card number, communicate with 5 different companies to deactivate that credit card from their records. Not good customer service! $920 may not be much to some, but its a lot that was taken from me! The store needs to practice better security with credit card theft versus allowing any John Doe enter into their store with a fake credit card!!

rant edit Large selection but overpriced ammunition and firearms. Theyre always trying to make a sale, but I know the prices I could get the stuff for, and its nowhere near their prices. Found out those guys make commission on firearms, no wonder theyre always pushing to make a sale. Good place if you want to handle a firearm you may have interest in before purchasing elsewhere. As for ammunition, a lot of their handgun calibers sit there because people dont want to pay stupid prices for it. $40+ regular price for Winchester 9mm white box? Thats hilarious... Academy across the street has better prices than Gander and even their prices arent all that great. I just scored an AR, which I would have payed $400-$500 more at Gander. Finally, their "sale" prices are funny. You can find lower prices than that at gun shows, and gun show prices are higher than online prices. /rant

Staff here have been friendly! I often ask to hold specific firearms, staff so far have been kind. Last visit the man at the counter even started some small talk. The store is rather nice. Large selection of firearms. In fact, Academy Sports nearby and B&S Guns in Garland have copied Gander Mountains firearm layout--the arms are set in rows along the store Walls. Looks classy. I am not sure if Gander will order guns for you, but so far it has been a great experience. Maybe it was luck, but they were the first store to have the Savage Rascal .22 a while ago when i was shopping for it. I hit 3 other stores beforehand Gander Mt & Bass Pro have been wonderful experiences. Much applause to the staff and the Little guys who make the stores

About a week ago my husband and I went into this store disgruntled over an issue with a knife we had purchased at another location. Immediately upon arrival we wished to speak to a manager and were granted that. At first my husband was did not get along with the manager probably because she was so much taller than him, by as time went on, we realized that despite her overly tall stature her demeanor and knowledge of her store were unparalleled. She not only solved our issue immediately but she helped my husband to make a better purchase on his knife. Thank you so much for all your help Joel, you not only have a giant stature but a giant heart.

In the few years they were open, I never purchased anything here due to their high prices. I ended up spending about $120 on a few items when they were going out of business...they finally got their prices down below retail with only a couple of weeks to remain open. The service has always been terrible. The prices are excessive. And I could always go next door to Academy or online to Amazon Prime, and get what I wanted for a better price. Gun service has always been slow and the sales personnel are not very knowledgeable. Im not the least bit surprised this place has gone out of business.

I spoke with an associate named Alec (at the firearm counter) today and he was the most knowledgeable gun salesman I had spoken to in a long time. He was able to give opinions and provided me with a lot of information on the products I was looking to purchase. I buy a lot of guns, some higher end, and he was the best of the bunch. Alec needs to be running a store or working in your corporate offices. If this is the type of people you hire youre doing great. Pay this man before someone poaches him from you. Thanks and you got a customer for life.

Nice store layout. Thats where it ends. Their prices are marked up like crazy. Even when I get a "coupon" from there they still 30%-40% higher than competitors. Even their online store wont honor price match because they use the excuse of saying "oh we cant do that its under or cost" Ive heard that about four times from them. There sales staff seemed to be bothered if I ask them the simplest of questions. Im giving up on Gander Mountain. Bring your hard earned money elsewhere.
