The shopping experience at Big Sandy was very good with a nice selection of furniture, which we discovered to be reasonably priced. The salesman (Bob) was very helpful, but was not overbearing nor pushy and as a result, he was a pleasure to make a purchase from. The actual check-out was good, a little time consuming at the front desk, but no complaints. I do not consider the items purchased here to be "high-end" furniture, but was still of fairly decent quality. The initial delivery and setup was also very good however I am not overly fond of the computer generated voice that calls to inform you of the 4 hour window for your delivery. It also calls again when the delivery is on the way. It is very hard to understand exactly what the computer generated “voice” is saying at times, and then it hangs up with no option to repeat what it says. When we had our items replaced (see below), the computer called and I understood it to say that the delivery would be in 2 hours and 25 minutes. The delivery people actually showed up about 25 minutes later. After the initial delivery we had found several “defects” and some damage that was not noticed when it was first delivered. On the Big Sandy webpage, there were “Request Service” and “Customer Service Contact Us” forms, which I filled both out and hit send on both that very evening as we deemed what was delivered to be unacceptable. There was no response from the webpage submittals at all. However I had also emailed Bob at the store who contacted the appropriate person on our behalf. Eventually the unit was replaced with a new one meeting our expectations. Bob the salesman called a few days later to follow-up to make sure were satisfied with the replacement. I consider this to be excellent customer service. The Customer Service links on the webpage seem to be lacking and needs a lot of improvement. I would also prefer a less automated computer delivery notice. However due to human intervention, overall we are pleased with our experience. Big Sandy will be the first place we shop for furniture in the future.

We ordered a mattress 3 weeks in advance of our move to a new home. We paid for mattress in ful l 1 week prior and scheduled delivery for the following week. 2 days before scheduled delivery, we get a call saying they dont have mattress and "when did we want delivery?". Called management and they cited everything from trucks, to warehouse to manufacturer issues. Told mattress would be in on several occasions following and still nothing. Manager (Kevin) who I was dealing with was pleasant and understanding. But now he has been tranferred and I am re-living story over with new manager. Overall sales reps were good and Mike in mattresses wad fantastic. I am SUPER disappointed that we spent $1600 on a mattress and a month after ordering, STILL nothing to sleep on. And if it does ever come in, I can only get delivered on Weds or Fri. I have been offered nothing but excuses. No offer to upgrade or refund percentage for hassle. I want a good nights sleep in my new house! We ordered other items also and there was a mix up with a chair that we hope will turn out right. Great sales reps, poor follow through. 8/24 follow up: Big shout out to Dan and Brian! Finally have a mattress. After numerous calls and issues with supplier, Brian came through and got us what we needed. All that while dealing with grand opening at Polaris! Thanks for the follow up!

I was looking for a used 4k TV on Craigslist and ran into a great offer of a new 4K TV ad posted by Austin Blair on Craigslist. First, I thought he runs an online mail order TV. After a few exchange of text messages, I realized he works for a Big Sandy Superstore which I have never heard of it in Columbus. He offers me to come to the grand opening store in Dublin this weekend to meet in person and discuss more about the TV that I wanted to purchase. Man, I was glad that I did. I was surprised how big the Big Sandy Superstore is. Their furnitures and electronics & appliances collections are huge like other stores such as BestBuy & HHgregg just to name a few. Austin is a very friendly guy. No sales pressure of any kinds. Because of their new grand opening store this weekend, I got a much much better deal on a grand new 2016 4k TV than what listed on his Craigslists ad! I did shop around for the same TV at other local stores and I can attest that his price is hard to beat by far! I also applied for the store credit card and got 24 months interest free! Thank you very much, Mr. Austin. I am very happy with the purchase and it was a very pleasant to do business with you and the Sales manager that I got introduced during this buying. Will do business again I am sure. Thanks again!

The delivery guys were good and on time, but the quality of Big Sandy furniture leaves much to be desired. I purchased a kitchen table with four chairs, and got up to $300 of free furniture as part of the deal they were running. So I picked out two living room end tables. They totaled $360, so I had to pay $60 for them. Still a good deal. But, the kitchen table I got was 8 inches longer than the one I ordered, and had some scratches and tiny bubbles in the veneer on the table top. And the four chairs wobbled. The delivery guys tightened the screws on the chairs, which reduced most of the wobbling. The end tables came in a separate delivery a couple weeks later. One of them was damaged in the back. Big Sandy gave me $120 back for the kitchen table, which was a nice gesture but I would have preferred the right size table without the damage, and scheduled a technician to come out to check the other items. He never showed. When I called, they wanted to reshedule. I told them to forget about it. I cant keep taking time off from work for Big Sandy. After this experience, I can say that it will be a long time before I go back to Big Sandy again. Im better off going somewhere else, even if I have to spend a little more money for better quality merchandise and less hassle.

I have mixed emotions about Big Sandy. My boyfriend and I were furnishing a fairly large house and made several trips here to start narrowing down the interior design due to the large selection they have. Nearly everyone we worked with was great. The prices were kind of high, but the quality of the selection was definitely nice. When we thought we had finalized what we wanted, the price came in higher than what we had hoped. We explained to the salesman that we needed to keep it under $8,000 because we have so much money going out with purchasing a new home. We felt that his demeanor changed very quickly, and we almost felt like a burden to him because he needed to make changes to what we wanted. Apparently its an ordeal for them to make changes to a quote. I apologized profusely throughout our last visit and he assured me it was okay, but I still felt like we didnt have the same friendly guy we had prior to that. All in all, we really like the selection and the individuals we worked with. Just wish we wouldnt have felt so troublesome at the last minute.
