I bought a used bike and I wanted it checked out. So, I took the bike to the Transit Bicycle Company on lower Greenville Ave. near my house. BIG MISTAKE! All I wanted was an estimate on a few things, a basic bicycle tune-up, and a covered chain with lock. First, no chain links in stock, only U type locks. So, I let that slide, no big deal. I was ready to spend whatever the cost in money to make the proper improvements on my bike and get the things I needed done. However, the Rollie-fingers handlebar mustache looking owner/salesman was a complete jerk and hell-bent on being snarky towards me. He sandbagged me on everything and every issue. This person has the worst customer service skills ever! It really depends on if this person likes you or not. I guess, I’m not liked, oh well. He said he could not help me, not even with a simple estimate at that point in time because there were several bikes in front of mine, with nobody else in the store that I would have to wait, leave my number until they call me 2 or 3 days later with an estimate. Basically, don’t call us call us we will call you. I thought gee whiz this place really sucks for that! He stated he only had one bike mechanic on duty and that that mechanic only works on one bike at a time. This person was very patronizing towards me. He said he could not give me a ballpark figure of what needed to be done with my used bike and he was actually rude about it, which I don’t appreciate at all. I was like you’re the owner right? I am afraid one day Mr. Mustache will speak to a new customer like the way he spoke to me and said stranger will simply just break both his legs. I am not like that at all, so I took my bike and left this clowns horrible bike shop! Avoid this place at all cost protect yourself and your dignity. I went straight to Bikes Plus off Lovers Lane in Snider Plaza by SMU. They were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and above all else respectful towards me the paying customer. They fixed my used bike right there on the spot within 20 minutes, while I waited. They had 3-4 qualified bike mechanics on duty, working professionally, being busy fixing bikes like they should be. They did not trash me or belittle me in any way as a person because of my used bike, which I did not buy from them. I appreciate that. Everything was done properly within reason on my bike. I bought a nice new covered chain link to protect my bike investment. They suggested I might need a new bike pump because of the different valve size. So I bought a new one. My new used bike works really well now thanks to Bike Plus. I have come to know The Transit Bicycle Company as a complete waste of time and so should you as a paying customer. In my opinion they should change the name to The Transit-Waste Bicycle Company. What a colossal waste of my time. Hopefully, it is a matter of time before they go away. At least that’s how they made me feel as someone trying to give them money.

Admittedly, I dont usually write reviews. However, the unpretentious nature of Transit Bikes and their personnel requires acknowledgement. I visited the store after checking them out online, including their Google reviews. This place deserves every kudo they get. They have bikes for all tastes and budgets. I havent owned a bike since I was a teenager, but knew I wanted one that could take me just about everywhere. Also, because I am not an advanced cyclist I knew what I wanted to spend, and it wasnt $2,000. I found exactly what I was looking for, thanks to Micah. He was patient, explanatory and nonjudgmental. He helped me through every step of the process, and I am very happy with my purchase. Any bike question or need you have, you should visit them. They will make you feel very comfortable, no matter your current comfort or cycling level. Thanks, Micah! I look forward to getting to know the rest of the Transit Bike team. Be sure and follow them on Facebook! ;)

My father was doing a plumbing job around the corner from here. His air compressor went out so he thought he could quickly buy a bicycle pump to finish the job. He paid $64.94 with tax for a pump. The pump did not work. He went back to exchange it for another one and the company would not allow him to exchange. No wonder small business cant make it. If nothing else you should always stand behind your products. I would not go to this company for any of your needs. The company told my father he would have to contact the manufacturer. When he called the manufacturer regarding the warranty he was told the local distributor handles this. He left his contact information with the manufacturer and two hours later got a call from the store he could come in to exchange. Yes the company did make it right after two hours on the phone and far to much hassle.

Im older and out of shape, having made the mistake of giving up cycling a few years ago. I bought a Kickbike on Ebay and wanted to have it serviced. (If you dont know what a Kickbike is, google it, theyre really cool - but no one sells them in Texas) From the moment I walked into Transit Bikes, I received great service from friendly and knowledgeable sales people and mechanics. Ive been to a number of the other bike shops around here and stood around being ignored, I guess because I cant ride 100 miles at a go like I used to. Theres no attitude at Transit Bikes except a love of cycling and the willingness to help anyone who walks through their door for a part, service, a helmet, a new bike, or even just cycling advice. I wish I could give them 10 stars.

Today was an adventure for me. I rode my bike from Haslet to Downtown Fort Worth, then hopped on the train to Dallas. Once I got off the train and hopped back onto my bike only to get a rapid flat tire. To my amazement, the tire is also shredded a bit. I googled Transit and walked 4 miles to their shop and was greeted as if theyve known me for years. They repair my flat, installed a new tire, and adjusted the brakes that were the root cause of my shredded tire. All of this is happening while they offer me some homemade bread and ask me about my adventure. This store should be considered Dallas one stop shop for cycling! If Im ever in the area again and needing cycle gear, my moneys going there.

Shoot, this is the greatest little bike shop in Dallas. Totally friendly, totally NOT sales oriented, at least not in my experience over the years. They sell me what I want, and make suggestions, but never make me feel like Im out of the family if I cant do something financially right that minute. I cant really speak for the other employees, but Fran treats me like family and so does the Other Guy Whose Name Embarrassingly Escapes Me Right Now. The young lady who works there was really honest with me about my shifter cables, and I appreciate that. Nothing but love for Transit. If youre not having a good experience in there, youre probably doing it wrong.
