We found this bike repair shop on Saturday morning after visiting another one in Plano, that could not even get to our 3 wheel therapeutic trike until June 30th, due to the busy season. We called The Bike Shop in Richardson on the way and spoke to an elderly gentleman, who said they could look at the trike and they had 2 mechanics on staff. We went into the shop with the trike and they said, initially the bar that connects the front wheel to the rear 2 wheels needs to be welded due to a wobbly stem/rod, but when you have that done, give me a call, bring it in and I will get it done. They even recommended a place to have it welded, Wallis Welding in Garland. We called the welder, they said bring the 3 wheeler in and they would look at it. We did that, and they welded it that day ($15). We took the trike back to the bike shop, called them on the way, and when we got there, the mechanic said, let me take this panel apart and see what we are looking at and I will get you an estimate on how long it will take and how much it might cost. We walked around the store looking at bikes, we had our daughter with us, as this was her bike, and she always wants to ride anything. While we were there, another customer came in with a pedal/crank issue, and they fixed their bike right then and there. My husband and daughter went outside to look at firetrucks that went by, and before you knew it, the mechanic had fixed our bike ($10) We highly recommend this bike shop to anyone needing repairs or looking for bikes. Our daughter was able to ride that evening. What a great way to start off the summer.

AWESOME and GENUINE!!! That just about sums up The Bike Shop here off Arapaho and Jupiter in Richardson. This has been my store to come to for questions and help since back then a few years ago and eventually bought my first Haro to get back into biking here. Recently I decided it was finally time to step up the game and make a much grander purchase into a speed bike but something I also could commute comfortably without eating my wallet. I had been borrowing one from a friend to see if I liked it and finally decided I wanted one of my own. Greg showed me the Fuji line of bikes and recommended the new Roubaix 1.3 with its carbon front fork and most of the money going into the Shimano 105 drivetrain thats built to last, affordable, and can keep up with the best and not breaking my bank. Never tried to oversell me something he didnt think I would need. After thinking it over and researching online it looked like his recommendation was the way to go. He ordered it, gave me a great deal, made sure I had all the parts I needed and helped me install all of them. Ive been riding it for over a week to break it in before my first 100mile marathon in the Shiner GASP and he had no problem taking a little extra time at the end of his day to help me get it retuned and setup properly so I can go that extra mile. Thanks again and Im glad to have a nice honest neighborhood shop like this around.

This bike shop is by far the best bike shop ever! I started with a mountain bike that was WAY too tall for me so I decided to go to Richardson Bike Mart...that was a very big mistake. I waited about 20 minutes only to get offered a terrible trade in value and not only that, they didnt offer any service or advice. I decided to come to The Bike Mart and it was one of the best experiences Ive had with a business. They straight up told me that they are ripping me off when they offer me a trade in and that Id be way better off selling it on craigslist and then coming back. The gave me a very good offer and deal on a new bike with a layaway plan. They were willing to put in the time and effort so that riding would be an enjoyable experience for me. After selling the bike on craigslist, I ended up buying another bike on craigslist, I did however come to The Bike Shop and got a tune up. Everything after was fantastic and all the work was great. Greg and I believe Cindy are extremely helpful in what the do and what they offer. I CANNOT stress how helpful the both of them are! Thank you so much Greg for your wonderful service, and I will continue using your service for a very long time. I will never go back to RBM after what Ive been through.

I made the decision to purchase a bike on the internet that required assembly. "Fun" and "Easy" was how the website described the process. It even had links to videos which turned out to be rather useless (none of them had detailed instructions and every bike is different in design & structure). It turned out to be neither "Fun" nor "Easy" and my frustration was palpable. Im on a rather tight budget and I enjoy the challenge of figuring things out for myself but this turned out to be too great of a task and this perfect weather will soon enough turn into torturous heat, so I ventured to the Bike Shop for their assistance. $75 and a few hours later, I had a perfectly assembled bike. I dont normally go out of my way to write reviews but I was unsure what the tip etiquette is when it comes to bike assembly and I really felt like they deserved one for this huge save. This was an unplanned expense so the best I can currently offer is a public thank you for their great work and friendly nature, a promise of repeat business and to spread the good word about this great local bike shop.

UPDATE! EDIT! I GAVE ALL FIVE STARS LAST WEEK! I went back over the weekend and a young man who is not mature to do customer service made me walk right out because of the state of mind was in. He might of had a bad day or been high i dont know but I left. FIRST REVIEW! At first I wasnt impressed with the layout of the store because there are many bikes and the carpet is not great to have in a bike shop. I thought all those bike were for sale. Turns out those were mostly repairs and when guy came up to me and made me feel welcome and apologized due to "slim Pickings," because the weather has been very nice and he was a very kind, genuine guy who actually cares about people and their safety. I think he was the assistant manager or something. I did find a bike I liked and got a great deal and there was no pressure at all. Most importantly was the service and that was outstanding. Also all those bikes that are repaired or fixed there goes to shoe that their mechanical repairs are equal to their above and beyond service. thank you both.

As s repeat customer, I felt compelled to leave a review after reading some of the ridiculous comments left by other customers. Greg and everyone else at the Bike Shop are very knowledgeable, but also very friendly and fair. They are also very busy. Every time I go in there, I might wait a few minutes, but I get the attention I need and excellent work done on my bikes. I have been a customer of the other larger bike stores, but none of them have the level of personal, direct customer service that TBS has. I certainly dont get looked down upon because I choose not to buy a $3,000 carbon road bike that some of the other shops seems to want to sell. Everything in TBS is at reasonable, or inexpensive prices. Great selection of new bikes, used bikes and parts. Im not sure Ive seen anyone else locally carry Skyway wheels (in both 20" and 24" thank you very much!). I would not hesitate to recommend TBS to any of my friends, and am happy to support my local bike shop for years to come.
