I have shopped at this scheels since I was a kid and I tell you over the last 5 years the customer service has severely fallen. At one point a customer service rep made a comment about my wife that she over herd him say and she left with tears in her eyes she will never shop at scheels again. I also as of recent had many bad experiences as well including waiting for almost 45 minutes to get a reel cleaning kit from behind the glass along with a new rod. After that long of a wait I went home and got both online much cheaper too. Then again yesterday I figured what the hell one last try and to no suprise to me I once again spent almost an hour out side looking at ice fishing houses, augers and depth finders to have not one person ask how I was doing or if I needed any help and when I did finally approached the employees for help they were all standing around telling jokes about other customers they ran into that day to one another instead of helping customers. Also be very careful on who you are to believe is a true expert in the field they work. I have run into a hand full of employees that new less about the sport they were so posed to be experts in than my 9 and 13 year old daughters do. Do yourselves a favor and shop somewhere that not only says they care but shows it too!!

I used to be a big supporter of Scheels! I loved the stores and I enjoyed shopping there. My son has even worked for this company for three years and has enjoyed it. He was moving into the hunting/fishing department, which is right up his alley. Today I found out that he was "let go" because someone else was caught stealing from the company and this person was not charging my son the full amount for the purchases hes made. Im sorry that this young person felt the need to do this, but why is Scheels punishing my son in the process. I will no longer shop at a Scheels store and my friends will all hear about the way this company has treated my son. I am really disappointed that the cooperate office hasnt looked into this matter further and realized that my son would never knowingly steal from them. In essence they are calling him a thief and slandering his good name, not to mention giving him a bad reputation. Scheels, you have lost a good customer today and it will not be just me, my friends are about to find out how well you treat your people too. So, change my one star to no stars and I hope everyone who reads this feels my disappointed in a company that I once enjoyed working with.

Nice store and friendly employees, but EVERY time I go there I get bad information from them. Everyone I have dealt with at the gun section has confidently given me answers to my questions that I then google and find out they are wrong. WHY! I dont get it, just say you dont know. I have been there multiple times and I am finally leaving this review because a gun section employee told me with confidence that the Tikka Tac a1 uses AICS magazines, so I almost bought a $1,800 rifle, until I googled it and found out that they do NOT accept those mags. Another guy told me HKs dont work when wet and I should buy an XD (Im assuming hes referring to the VP9 YouTube video), but come on! I feel bad for the people who actually listen to the scheels employees opinions without doing research. Seriously scheels, start hiring some people who either know what they are talking about or who will admit that they dont.

What a fun place! We only had an hour, so we took a quick look around, but well be back again when we can spend the better part of the day wandering, snooping, and playing. Incredibly huge selection of clothing and equipment for every sport you can think of. The animal displays are really nice, as are the presidents. Ferris wheel and shooting galleria look like fun. Cafeteria serves quality soups and made-to-order sandwiches, Starbucks coffee, smoothies, salads, fresh fruit and veggies, homestyle baked goods, gelato and soft serve in fetching flavors like cranberry yogurt, coconut, and salted caramel, and enticing fudge that looked, at first, like pans of baked cookie bars. You want to eat here. You want to play here. Well be back.

They have an excellent selection of all sorts of sporting goods. Ive typically visited for running gear and various other hardware, but my last visit really stood out. It was ~30 minutes till closing time, and I was waiting for an associate to assist me with fitting some rollerblades. It was taking a rather long time for someone to come and help, so I figured Id just go on my merry way and finish my shopping there. A manager (I presume) had taken note of my long wait, and after I had left the rollerblades section she made up a $10 gift card for me, and searched the store to give it to me. Its things like this that make customers come back! Excellent experience!

They have a good selection but everything is overpriced. I guess for me it exists to make sure something fits etc before I order online. Also, I do not like to be harrassed by employees trying to engage in conversation in order to sell something. I was there for maybe 30minutes and was attacked by nearly 5 different employees asking me questions. I dont understand why people like this sort of thing but I do not. I am an adult and can shop for things by myslef. So annoying

Superior customer service! My moms in the ICU @ Roger Maris cancer center have had no time to school clothe shop for my son leaving for UJ to play football. We are from the twin cities but originally from FM Area. So @ 8:35pm we race to get last minute items jeans shoes back pack etc. They let us stay in the store till 9:45... They close @ 9. Thru 3 schemes t-shirt in 2 for grandma jean & 1 for the college boy. What was a frenzy turned out to be a GREAT FAMILY MEMORY!

This is the best sports store to shop for your seasonal needs, from fishing to golf, hunting, workout cloths, shoes (all name brands), cloths youth to adult, hockey to soccer, basketball..my oh my and a lot more. Shop for your favorite team, pro, college or local. Theres even a deli with all sorts cookies, brownies, coffee. Its just fun to look. Customer service is exceptional, or as I like to say ... fantastic.

Dog friendly!!!! Largest sporting goods store in Fargo-Moorhead. The company was founded in Sabin, MN. Only a few miles from the Fargo-Moorhead Metro area. Fantastic store, but beware....IT GETS VERY BUSY!! The weekends bring a lot of tourists to Fargo for shopping and most make a stop at Scheels.

I bought a treadmill some time ago and Scheels could not seem to repair it. They not only are going to pick it up, but are credited full amount to purchase of new treadmill. Scheels was responsive and Steve in excercise was great. Thank you and I will look to Scheels first for all purchases!

The most impressive part about this place is the amount of staff asking you if you need help. There are places where you can walk around for an hour and not see a single employee but here they are well willing to help you find what you need with great advice and knowledge... Keep it up guys
