I usually go to Oak Cliff Bike Shop, but decided to give the new guy a shot. I dropped off two bikes, and I was up sold chains on both bikes. I thought, “No problem. That’s fine.” I was then called again and was told the bikes are good, but bike #1 needs new tires and both bikes would be ready on Tuesday, the following day. So, I go to pick the bikes up and notice that not only does bike #1 have new tires, but so does bike #2, and I also have an additional charge of 50.00 bucks that was not authorized. I ask the guy at front desk what’s up with extra charge and the new tires on bike #2 that I did not authorized? He was like, “Sorry. Let me see if I can find the old tires.” So, I sit at the front desk for 5 mins. and the guy comes back and says, “Sorry. We couldn’t find the old tires.” To which I replied, “I did not authorized the two tires and this not a very good way of doing business.” And he says, “I agree, but the guy who put the tires on is not here to defend himself… so, sorry there is nothing I can do.” I’m thinking, that’s fine, keep the 50.00 dollars! if this how you want to do business, I will not return. I recommend if you are thinking about buying a bike or having one serviced, choose another place to go! DO NOT GO TO DALLAS BIKE WORKS…They are unethical and not trust worthy.

*UPDATE* I dont recall when I first put this review in - it was several months ago - and its December now. I just wanted to follow up with, WOW, my bike is STILL running perfectly. Seriously the best service work done to one of my bikes in my entire life. The mechanics at DBW are legit; you can trust the quality of what they do. And they sell some pretty cool all black trucker hats too!! Get your bike over to this shop TODAY!! ------------------------------------ The absolute best cycle store experience I have ever had. I purchased my Specialized Tri-Cross about 2 years ago from a competing bike shop that was highly recomended. I also had that competing shop do all of my service and repairs since the purchased. Several weeks ago I decided to give Dallas Bike Works a try as they were more convenient to my house. Not only was the price of the service I needed (basica annual cleanup/tune up) almost 1/3 less than the competition, the service was done to perfection which I cannot say about the other shop. I believe my bike rides better today than it did the first day I rode it when I purchased it. Add to this the people in the shop were really nice which can be rare in bike shops; at least Ive met some pretty unpleasant folks in shops. I would recommend this shop to absolutely any level of rider.

I just bought my bike from Dallas Bike Market about a month ago. I went into the White Rock location and didnt have the color I was looking for. They called Oak Cliff location and bam, the bike was on hold. It wasnt a problem at all. I dealt with Brasdon. Nice guy willing to help. They offer free tune ups during your break in period. I had to bring my Giant Escape 2 in twice to get some easy minor tweaks done after logging about 50 miles over a few rides(sorry Im not a racer). All I had to do was wait in the lobby for about 10 minutes and they were done?! They really listen to you. The mechanics at White Rock are a little gruff but personally thats what I want out of my mechanic. Straight to the point. not wishy washy. I predict many of dollars being spent here on future toys.

Called for my first time looking for a part. Got put on hold and when another associate came back on the line he asked if he could take a message for someone whom Ive never spoken to. I explained to him that I didnt know who that was and he insisted on taking a message for him. I told him I wouldnt even know what to say since Ive never heard of that individual. Finally I was told "YOU WANT ME TO TAKE A MESSAGE FOR HIM OR NOT, BUDDY?!" . Just hung up. Have not had a customer service experience this bad in a LOOOONG time!

Steve, the repairman, is always very helpful and just the way you would want your employee to represent your business when dealing with the public. I needed a tube replaced and told him I am a new rider and would like to learn how to change a tire. He was very happy to show me how to do it and only charged me for the tube and not a service fee. Needless to say I will be recommending Steve and Dallas Bike Works to anyone who needs bike repairs. Great Service and Great Attitude.

DONT GO!! I rented two bikes in fair condition. After 15 minutes, one bike got a flat. The next half hour was spent hassling with the flat and getting the bikes back to the shop. They didnt supply a spare or a pump. Basically wasted an hour. I asked for a credit on the $70 charge. Boyd, the owner, had told the clerk to give me nothing. I mistakenly said I was from out of town so I guess I was fair game to screw over.

Excellent selection of bikes, Excellent Service & repairs, and helpful staff working there. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me pick out the right road bike and I had a custom bike fit that has made all the difference in the world. The guys here listened to what I needed and stayed in the budget I had in mind. I will definitely recommend Dallas Bike Works to all my friends.

Definitely my shop of choice. I do not have time to do my own wrenching any more but I can diagnose 90% of my maintenance issues. These guys are great about listening to me and will fix the exact problem I want fixed. The mechanics are experienced and thorough, and from my experience, have the patience to listen to their customers (which is sort of a rare quality for bike mechanics).

Ive gone in this shop for minor problems twice. Each time they looked at it and said they couldnt fix it, never even put it in the stand for a closer look. They only suggest replacing the parts, go figure. So I took it to Transit bike shop and they fixed it both times in 10 minutes with no more problems. Just didnt seem like they cared too much about my bike problems

Small shop with basic stuff. Good all around LBS. But has a very experienced maintenance department. Brett has been my "go-to" mechanic since the 90s. Plus shops parking lot is a great place to park for a lap around White Rock Lake. They shop is ready to tweak or fix whatever is needed or provide gels if you forget them. Friendly folks without an elitist attitude.

I cant praise these guys enough. They called me before adding a (very necessary) item in a repair to get permission; they took a second look when I had to bring it back in, without complaint or charge. Turns out it needed only a re-lube of a gear shifter. Simple outstanding service, communication, repair-work is top-notch. These guys earned my loyalty.
