I recently moved to Salem from Arizona and brought in my bike for service on a Sunday. They only service Tuesday-Saturday. No problem, I can wait until Tuesday for my bike, after all the service require was pretty simple. I call on Tuesday and they tell me no problem, itll be ready by 1PM which is great. I get a phone call saying that the bike needed more work so it would be finished around 3. I couldnt show up until 4 and they said that was alright. I walked to the shop because I wanted to ride my bike home. I am new in town, I dont know anyone to drive my truck back if I drove it. So I spent over an hour walking to the shop carrying my riding gear in a backpack. When I arrive around 3:50 I wait for about 20 minutes because the phone is constantly ringing and the shop does not appear to have enough staff to adequately cover both the phones and the service desk. When the service person finally got around to me I was told that they in fact did not have the part in stock, they just thought they did. They had to order the part and it would take about a week to be finished. The staff was very professional and very polite and even offered me a ride home (which I declined). I understand sometimes you dont have the parts that you think you do or that there maybe stock or computer errors but I would have appreciated the courtesy of a phone call and save me a few hours of walking. I am not happy and I may change/edit this review depending on how they handle the situation next week when I (maybe?) get to finally ride my bike home. They are polite but they do seem understaffed and did not follow up with my service job like I wanted. Unless Salem HD gives me something for my grief then this review will have to stay a 2 out of 5.

I have bought 3 CVO Harleys since 2012 at Salem Harley Davidson. On a recent trip from Albany,OR to North Dakota to visit my aging Grandfather (98) I was pulled over just this side of Kennewick,WA. Now I know I was profiled because I was wearing my $15.00 skull cap, that Ive worn for the last ten years including my trips to N.D. almost every year. It does not have an APPROVED DOT sticker on it. After thanking the State Patrolman for only giving me a speeding ticket(observed from a plane) I promised to go to Rattlesnake HD and purchase said helmet.(1.7mi) There I was given the choice between a medium or XL helmet that was a close match to the one I bought for my fiance the previous day at "Salem HD. As we continued on our trip and the and the sun baked my brains in this new helmet, I realized this helmet is too small. At the ID border it went in the trunk. Ten days later I returned and stopped at Rattlesnake HD to see if we could exchange it for another one because the "3 position "visor did not work properly and I felt it was UNSAFE. After 45 minutes I was told they would not do it. We continued on to OR in 100 degree heat with a defective HD helmet. Three days later I took the helmet to Salem HD and there had a choice between a M or 2XL. They exchanged the helmet and I now have a properly working visor and room for my Brain to grow. Thank You Salem Harley Davidson for always taking care of your customer. That is why I will continue to buy my HD Ultras at Salem HD. rich

My husband and I went into the Salem Harley Store to purchase 1 or 2 bikes. After locating 2 bikes that we liked, our salesperson, Lee, took us up to finalize the deal. The trike I wanted was priced at $22,995. When we went into the sales managers office the manager said bike was actually 32,995 and not 22,995. He stated he had marked it wrong, not once but twice that day. Feels like a bait and switch to me. If a car dealership has a price on a vehicle, right or wrong, they sell it for the price it was marked for. They did offer to finally sell the bike to me for 29,000, 6000 more than what it was priced for. I said "How about we split the difference, Ill come up 3000 and you come down 3000 and they said no. I understand mistakes happen, but you still honor the price. If we make a mistake on a price we quote a customer, we let them know what the price should have been but we still honor the price we told them. This would have been my first Harley, and I will still get one but not from this store.

I have not purchased a bike here yet, but should I enter the market this store has definitely sown enough goodwill to earn my business. They hosted a charity UFC event last night. Heres how they showed their true colors: even though the event was sold out everywhere in town, they didnt even charge an admission fee! They gave me a free poster, a bandana, and other people got some free swag as well. The staff all seemed friendly, and especially Jeff, who seemed to be the primary host for the event. Goes out of his way to remember your name too. Incredible. They also seem to have a genuine passion for riding. I like people who are sincere about what they do, and arent simple trying to peddle a product. Keep up the good work here at this dealership, guys. If you can pull this type of customer service off consistently, I would imagine you will become one of the top dealerships in the nation, at least for customer satisfaction and experience.

I do have to say that my dream of getting a Harley has been fulfilled! It was nice to have people there to actually help you, not just try to sell you something that you really dont like, or there is a hideous amount of miles on it. I practically got a brand new Harley. 2015 Sportster VL1200T Super Low with only 325 miles on it when I rolled it out of the parking lot. It fits me, and has enough power to keep up with "the guys" yet nice enough to just cruise a bit. Bahkti is AMAZING! Jim & Matt are AWESOME! They came through when I thought there wasnt hope for me to get on that Harley and ride. They try to help you out as much as they can, give you options and listen to what you are looking for. You get some cool gifts for purchasing a bike from them as well! Thank you for getting my boyfriend Joe & I into a Harley for each of us! You guys are great!

Went in there store to talk about buying a bike, but was not sure what model and wanted some advise. well I was there 20 minutes, and was the only customer there. their were three service/sales guys standing around the service desk BSing and two sales people BSing in an office, they new I was there but did not say a word or ask if I had any questions..even the ladys in the clothing dept. were too busy doing there nails. It is obvious to me that this outfit is operated very unprofessionally and I would assume the owner is the same way if he lets his people run his store like that..well Im off to buy a BMW because they know how to treat customers..maybe a Harley but it wont be from these boobs Ill go to Portland or Albany...and this is the third time I have had a bad experience with them...so three strikes your out!!!
