If people ever tell you it would be cheaper to get a new computer over getting it repaired, DONT LISTEN TO THEM! Yes, a majority of computer repair places do overcharge, but I was convinced that someone out there was reasonable. And thats when I found Affordable Computers in my search. I have a decent laptop that Ive owned for three years and despite the fact that reviews said the fans in my particular model werent the greatest, I didnt experience any major issues. When I started playing games with decent graphics on it, I noticed overheating problems right away. After about two years of this and the problem getting worse and worse (and employing an armada of fans on it just to keep it cool) I was fed up and decided I wasnt gonna use my laptop til the issue was resolved. A day or two later I paid a visit to Affordable Computers. Upon walking in, I instantly felt that I had made the right choice. Jess is super friendly and very knowledgeable about anything computer related and has the experience to back it up. I told him my tale of my laptop woes and he told me what was wrong with it, how a laptop should properly cool and why it was having problems with that. He showed me before and after photos of laptop vents so full of dust he compared it to the lint trap in a dryer and thats why it was overheating so badly. Nasty! The cleaning fee? $45!!! I handed my laptop over with complete faith in him. Something else he told me was that my fan might need to be replaced if it was broken (but they can be replaced for $15 so no biggie). Now he couldve went ahead and replaced it if he wanted the extra cash, but he didnt! It was fine the way it was AND he told me how to upkeep it so I would no longer have to come to him for emergency cleaning. Even more reason to be impressed with his service. My husband and I have found our computer guy!! I have since told my mother about him who took in her laptop, was very impressed and has also left a review here. Thank you so much Jess! My laptop is running amazingly well and I have not had one heating issue since getting it back from you.

OMGoodness! What a LIFE SAVER Jess is! I had taken my laptop to the place of purchase to see if the Geek Squad could affordably clean and/or replace my keyboard which was getting stickier by the minute after having a sugar-based liquid spilled on it earlier. (Dont ask!) After shipping it to a repair site out of town (at a cost to me), the laptop was returned with the reply that to repairing my laptop would cost more than just buying another laptop. I was crushed. In lieu of buying another laptop, I bought a wireless keyboard to use if and when the keyboard became totally unusable. Then my daughter told me how "Jess at Affordable Computers" had fixed her overheating laptop at a price she could afford. She told me he could fix my problem for $40. ("Gasp! Excuse me?!") So I emailed him, related my tale of woe and he confirmed, "No more than $40." So I took my laptop there, he checked it out, ordered a replacement keyboard, and a week later (today), installed it -- ALL FOR ONLY $40! Goodbye, Geek Squad! Hello, Affordable Computers!! A low-overhead business that gives high-quality service!!

Id give Jess six stars if I could. Hes someone I wish Id found years ago, so I could have been going to him all my life. Affable, candid, patient, easygoing, utterly transparent in his business practices, happy to explain technical details, enthusiastic about what he does: an all-round experienced expert who welcomes challenges. If theres ever something he doesnt know right away, I trust him to figure it out: I watched him do it! Not only one of the best customer experiences Ive had since moving to Eugene, and hands down the best computer repair person Ive ever been to, getting to talk to him (as he gave my laptop a new lease on life) was one of the more rewarding personal experiences Ive had in this new town as well. Its rare to meet someone who seems so at peace with and so well-suited to where he is and what he does in life. Hearing him geek out about custom computer builds was terrific. And yes, his pricing was very, very affordable. Looking forward to his new, expanded space next month.

This is without a doubt in my mind the best computer repair dude period. my imac was acting faulty and The guy Jessie who runs the Computer spot had informed me about performance issues with my cpu. Im a sound engineer and in order for my business to run I need my computer running at 100% . This kind gentleman Jessie recommended a cleaning and not only cleaned my computer but took it apart and increased the ram size for my computer !he also gave me the best deal at a discounted rate just becausue thats the way he likes to treat his customers ..if your in the world and you need help with your computer Affordable computers are like the top doctors in the state he will diagnose treat and cure the problem

This place is great. I visited two places in town, at your typical brick and mortar store fronts and got the typical upsell to upgrade my computer. "Your computer is too old...your stuff is outdated...buy this new stuff." Well some of that might be true, here, I believe Josh is his name, got me set up with a much better graphics card, power supply, and that helped tremendously, increasing gaming and usage capabilities of my computer. Before you buy a new unit, or pay for a build, see these folks first. I was in and out in under an hour, and ready to enjoy my computer again. What is old, may not be bad, but stopping in here, saved me from spending $650+ on just buying stuff I really didnt need. Thanks again.

My experience with Jess was fantastic. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient and truly wants his customers to have a positive experience when they walk into his store. I have been in on two different occasions (purchased a computer and had Jess help me with a computer we already owned). Both experiences were 10s on a 1-10 scale. If you are intimidated by computers or just want to learn more, Jess is your man. I can truly say my time spent with Jess was probably the best experience in retail, that I have ever had. He loves his job and truly want to help others out and it shows!! Thank you Jess for how you choose to run your business. My wife and I are both very impressed.
