Their return policy is a SCAM, their prices are OUT RAGES, and, the quality is SUBPAR! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! After approximately five years of owning my L.L. Bean backpack it became simply unusable among many other problems the backpack had developed over the years when one of the two zippers completely broke. The item was purchased new for me from the L.L. Bean store in Bangor Maine so I returned to the store to take advantage of their guarantee. Upon entering the store they had no replacement back packs of comparable style/size so my intention was not to even replace the backpack that day I just wanted an estimate of how much money on an L.L. Bean gift card I would get to replace it and to find out if there was any way they could order me the backpack while at the same time allowed me to keep the other backpack since I do need something to keep my stuff in the meantime. Upon this the cashier started searching all pockets for something and informed me it was missing a tag. I explain to the cashier there never was a tag I never attempted to remove the tag and that there is no evidence that there ever was a tag that was removed! Like I said before this backpack was purchased new! They proceeded to ask for names of people that couldve purchased the item my mother was with me so she gave her name and interestingly enough there was no record forever purchasing anything before the year of 2016 definitely not the five year backpack so we proceed to get my grandmothers name who is a frequent L.L. Bean customer and has been an L.L. Bean credit card holder for at least the past 30 years receives flyers at her house frequently buys and return items at her local stores in Connecticut frequently purchases whenever in Maine and even shops online! But yet not in the system! What a LIE! After this we begin to get rather angry and additional staff come over to see what is happening they all start treating us as if we are criminals and are attempting to steal from them! What in the world is wrong with someone trying to return something and follow up on the policy which they were guaranteed when purchasing they didnt guarantee me it would last for a day they guaranteed me my lifetime! Why in the world do I need to keep a receipt for what theyre going to be guaranteeing me is a lifetime? Why is it my fault your computer system is a lie and doesnt record anything? The build quality of their items is pitiful! The inability to be able to follow their own lifetime guarantee is ridiculous if they dont want to follow it get rid of it! Stop charging outrageous prices for junk and start to get reasonable prices! Ive had similar experiences at the Ellsworth store as well! I have never had a good experience with L.L. Bean! They have SCAMMED me out of the almost hundred dollars for the backpack and then the additional cost to buy a backpack from another company When you do business with this Company youre not guaranteed lifetime quality you are guaranteed a headache and being treated as if you are a common criminal when you are trying to just to take advantage of something that they agreed to when you gave them an out rages amount of money for their product! After this experience I decided to go over to Sams Club and pick up a Swiss gear backpack for only $40 and its definitely a better quality than the L.L. Bean products and comes with a five year warranty which Im sure they actually follow! This Mainer is done with this Maine company!

L.L. Bean is highly over-rated. Most of its clothes are poorly designed and fabricted, mostly from China. Its brand-name shoes are clumsy and pricey. It seems that its popularity is similar to Facebook: people "join" the reputation but the product is less reliable than the experience. The best aspect of Bean is that all of its stuff is returnable forever for a full refund or replacement. Ive not had a quality product in many years and shop there very rarely now as compared to 15 years ago.

Ha Ha, its Beans! Great prices can be found in the outlet and great service is always the rule. This time we ran into a sale of the famous Bean Bags and bought a few more to add to our arsenal. You cant have too many Bean Bags, especially when you find them on sale. We have also frequented the outlet recently as we prepare for travel and have particular clothing needs.

Really hasnt been an outlet for years. Overstock merchandise at 30%off. A minimum amount of clearance or deeper discounts. If you want LL Bean at 30% off this is your stop for a small subset of their products. Looking for out of the ordinary deals... keep driving.

Nice bathrooms and maybe a slight deal on some clothes or outdoor gear. Not nearly as good a deal as it used to be, prices are noticeably higher relative to the market than ten years ago, corrected for clothing inflation.

I was only here to get a sleeping bad but they were very over priced. $60 for a small and around $300 for a large. I dont know about the rest of the stores prices, but the store seemed nice.

Its a smaller outlet, but I always seem to be able to find a good bargain. From kayaks to dog beds they carry a great variety of items. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable.

Not as cheap as one would think an outlet store would be. Large selection. Went hiking in MAINE and the kids shoes are worked out. Picked up a couple pairs here at decent prices.

Definitely an outlet store, mostly clothing with random aisles of goods here and there. Depends what you are looking for but not the biggest selection of stuff. Staff was helpful.

Ive gotten incredible deals at this particular outlet store that seem even better than the other LL Bean Outlets. Maybe it is because this is the most remote one in Maine.

Big selection, something to do while it rains and visiting Acadia. Lots of discounts, a lot of Bean merchandise already monogrammed. Like tjmaxx of LL bean stuff

LL Bean rocks. This outlet rocks. I exchanged my boots here and ended up saving $40. I recommend stopping in before a quick visit to Acadia.
