Had a clicking noise in my crank and bottom bracket. Brought it up to shop right when they opened on Monday morning, and Tobin took a look at it. He told me what he suspected it would be. Took the bike in on the spot. Called me in less than an hour and had it all back up and running with a thorough explanation of what happened. Granted in my case the turn-around was great, but shouldnt be expected with a busy shop like this. The negative reviews seem to be specific to certain circumstances (maybe even lower quality bikes) I dont know how to put it nicely, but if you start out with a low quality bike that needs a repair---then dont expect the shop to work magic to get it perfectly fixed. If this shop is bad, then why do other local shops refer you to them when they cant fix it???? Just sayin Keep up the good work.

I know everyone knows about you guys but if not here it is. Best place ever, took old bike in wanting something newer owner looked at it said why, your bike is fine and told me he could fix my break at a fair price and didnt try to get me to buy a new break set or pressure me to buy a new bike from them. I left loving my bike again and was going to fix break later. Found my dream bike traded for it called Buchanans set up appointment for the next day for adjusting. Being from Ada ok I thought I was just dropping off and have to come back in a day or so. Not these good people they got right on it and I was headed back to Ada by noon still time to pick son up from school. Long story short I will be going back and I highly recommend Buchanan bike in Norman Oklahoma. Thanks guys...very happy customer from Ada Oklahoma.

My wife and I went in a couple of times to check out road bikes and were impressed with their willingness to do business with us. After a couple of visits, it was clear that Buchanan genuinely wanted to make us happy and get us into a quality bike. Other shops in Norman DID NOT give us this much individualized attention, nor did the exhibit any real desire to make a deal to close the sale. HINT: since we were buying 2 bikes, they agreed to knock a couple of bucks off the deal. Way to go guys keep up the good work! PS this shop is a sole proprietership and NOT a franchise outfit so your money stays within the local economy and helps support not only the young owner and his family, but all of the employees and mechanics that work there.

Recently turned off by BikeOnes outrageous prices and pretentious sales and service employees, I ventured to Buchanan Bicycles. The staff were awesomely professional and they exhibited great customer service. I didnt feel like I was being "wheeled and dealed"(no pun intended) like some other places in Norman(ahem! BikeOne). The location to campus is great if one is a student and is okay if youre not a student. I thought that, since the location was closer to campus, the rates would be higher than other places in norman; I was very wrong! I had some maintenance done and they did it better, faster and cheaper than BikeOne! Buchanan Bikes are awesome. I am very impressed.

I picked this place because it was so close to campus, and Im glad I did. I originally went in and picked out a Specialized Sirrus with Tobin. My wife went in secretly to pay on it to surprise me for christmas and she told me everyone there was really great to her. Today I went in for my 30 day tune-up and Dewayne and Walter did a great job and made sure I had my bike back in time for class. Its working better than the day I first rode it. I couldnt be happier with my bike or the service. Keep up the great work!!!

Ive been to many of the bike shops in the Greater OKC Metro area and Buchanans is one of the best. Ryan, a fit technician, got me re-fit on my triathlon bike. I was having issues with numbness, discomfort and overall tension. Ryan was able to alleviate all of the issues and my riding has improved. They are very laid back and knowledgeable willing to help beginners and experienced alike. Also, they have a pretty good selection of clothing. I was really happy to use them and I will continue to do so.

I had an older bike with cottered cranks which was my primary means of transportation. The cotter pin broke in one of the cranks, leaving me stranded on campus. Being a poor student, I didnt have cash, only a debit card. The piece I needed was below the $5 minimum for card use and I was refused service. The owner told me to go pull cash from an atm, where the service fee was $3 and I could not afford a $23 transaction and when I explained my predicament I was told that it was not their problem.

I bought a bike on-line and put it together myself. How hard could it be? Well, nothing was quite right for the first few months I rode it. After it started jumping out of gear I took it in to Buchanans for a tune-up. They listened to all my complaints of what wasnt working quite right and found and fixed every problem. The bike rides like a dream now! Even the annoying squeek, squeek, squeek, is gone, where something was out of balance. It rides smooth and quite now. Thanks guys!

This is a solid bike shop for the road racing crowd. They also carry the Surly Long Haul Trucker for loaded touring, but the service didnt feel as pleasant as my other bike shop experiences. Thats not to say they are not professionals. They do a great job and their ability to fit you to the bike properly is second to none. There just wasnt that friendly feeling that Ive grown used to from other shops. Go there if youre looking for a Surly or are unwilling to drive up to Pro Bike in OKC.

I was pushed off the sidewalk by a pedestrian waving to a car and my bike got all messed up. The guy at Buchanan told me a $45 tune up would fix everything. I picked up the bike the next day and didnt get a block away before turning back around as the gears slipped with every other pedal. Another $45 and two days later I got my bike back and it still rides terribly. The only thing worse than paying to have your bike repaired and riding out on a bike that isnt fixed is doing it twice

I have a Fuji bike that I use for working security at various sites but it had some gear shifting issues that I needed to get fixed. Looked them up, and I was able to bring my bike in and they replaced a cable on it and gave it a great once over and I was able to get the bike back a couple of hours after I took it to them. It rides FABULOUS now when I am on a post of any kind. Buchanan Bikes simply ROCKS!!!! Thanks guys, you all are lifesavers!!!!! :-)
