Im an experienced road and mountain bike cyclist and I commute to work. This is my favorite bike shop in Austin. When I was in the market for a new road bike they let me take home the bike I was interested in and test ride it over several days after fitting me to it. This allowed me ride on different road surfaces and over an extended period of time to get a more in depth feel for the bike. It wasnt perfect and they fitted me again and had sample saddles they loaned me to test. I was able to pair the right saddle with the right bike with the right fit. I love my bike. My purchase was the best price I could get. I received a free basic fitting, other shops charge for this. They major discounted the seat that replaced the factory one and discounted the accessories I purchased. I compared online and I couldnt get better prices, even taking into consideration the sales tax difference. The sales team (Mike and Eddie) worked together and were super helpful (patient too). Thanks Mike and Eddie and dont forget Tina. When I left with my newly purchased bike I realized I had actually made friends too. That remains true on every visit. My first tune up I called in and when I arrived the owner helped me and they did the tune up on the spot (trued one wheel and adjusted and cleaned the drive train). I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. These guys also support some of my favorite rides and triathlons. Thanks Jack and Adams.

I stopped by on the morning on Thursday, April 9, after having a negative experience at another bike shop in the neighborhood. I was coming downhill on Lamar, heading toward Lady Bird Lake, when I noticed that my brakes were not working well. The first bike shop I stopped into said they couldnt help me, though they had dozens of people walking around getting ready for a big sale. After that experience, it was nice to have the mechanic and Jack & Adams tell me that all I needed was new rear brake pads, which only cost $7.58 with tax. He even installed them for free since I didnt have the proper tools with me. That allowed me to get back home safely. He also advised me that the rear wheel is close to needing replacement. What a nice surprise to get such complete, competent, and courteous service for less than $10. I wont hesitate to go to Jack & Adams when it is time to replace the rear wheel, to buy other parts, or even to buy a whole new bicycle. They even have an air hose and loaner tools out front. How cool is that?

I was downtown with a friend and a spoke came loose and punctured my liner and inner tube. After carrying my road bike back a mile or so, we stopped in Jack and Adams Bicycle shop. I told the guy at the repair counter and he started helping me get the tire back off the bike and went into the back. Im not an avid biker...I didnt spend 800+ on a bike...so when someone in a shop with carbon fiber bikes starts working on a part without disguising a price...it makes me nervous. He fixed the alignment of the spokes put the new tube and put it back on the bike. I asked how much and he told me to just take the box to the register. $4 dollars for just the inner tube. I was expecting to have to pay for his time. Great customer service! I definitely will be a returning customer.

Went to the shop because it had a high rating, we went to other bike shops and had pleasent experinces. However this bike shop is the only one that asked me to ask for assistance when I wanted to see a bike. We were looking at the bikes for a while and no one asked if we needed help or had questions. It was dead, only one other lady and a couple. I saw the lady taking out the bike herself so I got it out myself. I didnt see them tell her anything, yet we had a guy come tell us to please ask for assistance when we wanted to see a bike. He wasnt rude, but he talked to us for about 30 seconds and left. Am i supposed to look and chace him down every time i want to see a different bike. I dont want to make it a race thing, but the lady was white and well we arent.

After going to other bike shops in town and being dismissed by their staffs that wouldnt be purchasing a bike, I went to Jack and Adams. The staff was nothing but helpful and friendly from the moment I walked into the store. They even let me take a bike for a test ride for 5 days for free, I would like you to find another bike shop in Austin that will let take a more than a free ride around the parking lot. Needless to say I bought from them and recommend anyone looking for a road or tri bike to go here first. Even after I bought the bike they told me that if I wasnt happy with it after a week to bring it back and they would order me a new bike. Also, Felts are great bikes you just dont get to pay for a bunch marketing like a Trek.

These guys are awesome! I am shopping for a specific high end mtn bike and Will listened to me, then suggested i take the Scott Genius 27+ with XT overnight for a demo. Matthew took the time to adjust the sag properly. I rode it in the dark at Muleshoe and the bike performed perfectly. It shifted exactly like XT should and the brakes stopped like a nun at 2nd base. Attentive sales, desire to set the bike up properly, and excellent mechanical adjustment - i am impressed. I have owned a lot of mtn bikes since 1985 and worked in several high end shops in college so, i have a pretty sound basis for assessment. These guys were great. I will certainly do businesses with them going forward.

I have used J&A for the past several years but my last experience deserves a written report. I love my bike but I have never LOVED my bike. I saw people doing 100+miles and feeling great but that just never happened for me. Then Mikey put on my new aerobars and refitted my bike. WOW.. I now LOVE LOVE LOVE my ride. I have also purchased my wetsuit at J&A which is another Tri item I love. It is my superhero costume and gets me through the coldest temps. The guys at J&A really know there stuff and will sort you out and never steer you wrong. And the fact they are local and know how to throw a party is just icing on the cake. I wont go anywhere else.

Bicycle World/Jack and Adams is a great local shop in Austin. I have purchased a couple bikes and a fair share of shoes from the shop. Employees are always friendly and are extremely knowledgeable. Bottom line, they stand by their products and services they provide. This shop is dedicated to keeping you happy as a customer, and will go above and beyond to do so. Excellent customer service! I would recommend this shop to anyone in the Austin area looking to purchase a bike, or anyone wanting a home for their bike maintenance.
