I called in advance to verify the part I wanted was in-stock(a 1/2" axle pedal set), the gentlemen was kind enough to take the time and verify that it was actually in stock. So I drove 20 miles to the store and I found 3 people working in the store when I arrived. So i walked around the store looking for my item and 2 employees (a male and a female) were in the far corner of the store and offered to help me when I finally got to where they were hanging out, which also happened to be right where the item in question was on display. They both offered to help find what I was looking for, So i told them what I was looking for, and they "helped" me look and told me they did not have the item, I explained that I had called in advance and verified the item was here and they passed the "buck" to "the other guy in the store". It turned out that the person I talked to on the phone (prior to driving there) was on the phone when I walked in and dealing with a cash customer as well. Anyway he walked me back to the very spot the guy and the girl were "hanging out" and pulled the item off the display stand.. Sure enough... exactly what i needed.... this gentleman and I talked for an additional ten minutes or so and I walked out of there feeling very much educated, 18 dollars poorer, and strongly in support of the 2 to 2 and a half star evaluators.... one good and knowledgeable employee does not in any way compensate for 2 incompetent employees who are apparently more interested in each other than in helping a customer. And by the way... they appear to be now EXCLUSIVELY a TREK dealership and the pedal sets are made in "Taiwan" (I had to peal back the bar code label to verify this).I don"t know....maybe Taiwan has better quality standards than USA , but I personally wonder about company that makes the following claim " Bontrager is a registered trademark of Trek Bicycle Corporation Waterloo Wisconsin 53594 USA, All rights reserved.".. This EXPLICITLY leads one to believe that the company (TREK and or Bontrager) are US Companies and yet they "hide their origin" with a "local Bar code sticker" that has the EXACT SAME information as the bar code they cover up, (the exception being the "made in Taiwan Logo").. SO here it is straight up... good service.. 1out of 3.. quality... made in Taiwan (might be better than made in China?) honesty..... why cover up manufacturers origin with bar code sticker of EXACTLY same information.. i personally dont have a logical answer, Will I go back??? Maybe..... Still waiting on the outcome of China Vs Taiwan, and wondering what happened to "MADE IN USA"

Now, I know a lot of people get kinda prickly when it comes to Trek. But, I gotta say that in the case of this store, ignore it. Their service is phenomenal. I went in a few weeks back at 5:50 or so (they close at 6), and I was just going to go in to look at a Domane and leave. I figured that I could get in and out in 10 minutes. Well, I was wrong. I walked in and a fellow approached me, and I expected him to say something along the lines of "Hey! Were about to close, but can I do something quick for you?" Nope. I stayed there, test-rode the bike, talked to the fellow, talked about manufacturing and got some great literature on Trek and by the time I left, it was about 6:30, and I never got the sense I was preventing them from closing. I came back last week after some back surgery, and got fitted for a bike and everyone helping me was very aware and cautious of the fit regarding my back. Very easy to talk to, very supportive, very friendly people. Im in San Antonio half the time and in San Marcos the other half, and I wouldnt dream of going to another Trek dealer, and probably not another bike shop. Getting a little long on the review, but Ill say that my mother also bought a bike here, after looking at a Specialized equivalent, and my father who is a long time racer/rider, and my background in manufacturing, we all edged more towards the Trek, and the fact that the staff here are so incredible and friendly and willing to work with you, and everyone we spoke to was incredibly knowledgable, made it an incredibly easy choice to make. I know that I can take my bike in there any time and get some great, reasonably-priced service done. I found that all the little parts and components that can be so wildly overpriced are pretty reasonable here. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

Amazing place and people. I really appreciated the work that they did getting my bike back into riding shape! Biggest thing that stuck out for me was the fact that their staff was very open and honest. They did not try to sell me things I did not need and they were not pushy at all. Should I get a new chain for this bike? The mechanics answer was "Honestly, you could probably get another 300-500 miles out of that chain, and I would just do that. No need to spend the money on a new chain now." Everything is exceptionally priced (coming from someone who used to go expensive bike shops in Austin). For instance, I bought a new set of locking, ergonomic, gel-hybrid handles for my bike. Pretty much top of the line at their store as far as handles go. They installed them for free and the total cost came out to around $40 and some change. They ordered the parts and started repairing the cassettes, cables, installing the new handles, and did a full tune up in five days (they had to special order a part). The bike rides like a GD cloud now. I will very happily be going here for my business!! Big shout out yall, and thanks again for your help!

Tamara, James and Drew are the best! You wont find a better bike shop around. They are friendly, outgoing, and seem genuinely interested in helping you. I havent been in any other shop in either San Antonio or Austin (to be fair, I havent been to Mellow Johnnys, so I cant vouch for them) where they took as much time as Tamara did in listening to what I wanted in a bike. The fact that they also did measurements and didnt just pull a bike off a rack and shove it under my bum speaks volumes to the level of customer service you get here. The service Ive gotten after purchasing the bike is second to none. Problems arose with the first two frames and Pedal Power got me a factory replacement each time. Got questions about something going on with the bike? James and Drew are right there with an answer and none of the attitude youll sometimes find at other shops. Good on sales. Good on service. You cant go wrong here!

Tamara and her entire staff are amazing! I want to give special thanks as well to Andrew. My wife and I are new to cycling. We went to Pedal Power on our Harley Davidson Motorcycle and believe it or not we were a bit intimidated. We walked in and introduced ourselves and told Andrew we were new to the sport and needed help to choose a bike. He did not try to sell us an expensive one. As a matter of fact he did just the opposite. He started showing us an entry level TREK bike and we settled on a model that was a few steps up from entry level. We love our bikes and we love this shop! Before we purchased, we went to two other shops and neither one came close to Pedal Power. They are the BEST! Keep up the outstanding customer service and congratulations Andrew on your promotion to sales manager. Well deserved as Tamara noted on the website!
