So Ive been trying to get back into the cycling arena again since I recently moved to San Antonio. Ive owned a moderately decently Trek bike for the past 8 years yet havent been able to get much time to ride it till after I finished up my schooling. Recently I started up again by riding 5 miles a day for 4 days per week, but noticed that my chain was rubbing weird and my gears kept on slipping. I could only guess what was the problem and didnt really no what to do about it. So I googled the different bicycle shops in this city and saw that this shop was ranked rather high and was relatively close to my home. I admit I was skeptical of the reviews of this shop but thought Id give it a go anyway. I fully expected them to to try and up sell me and take advantage of my ignorance, however I couldnt have been more wrong. When my son and I stepped through the shop we were immediately greeted by a man that was also in the process of working on another bike. He asked what he could do for me. After giving him a synopsis of my issue he invited me to bring my bike into the shop; I had left it in my car in case I ran into a poor scenario of a shop. I brought my bike in and he immediately took a quick look at it. I further demonstrated my ignorance when I explained my concern that Id likely need to by a new set of rear gears, among other things, and then realized that I had completely made myself vulnerable to whatever he may try to sell/tell me. To my delight he told me that I didnt need to buy anything. he then proceeded to regulate the chain (which was apparently too loose). After a period of about 5 minutes, mingled with a bit of chitchat, he was done and told me I also wouldnt need to pay anything. Instead he told me to keep riding and finish breaking in my bike and to come back when I needed any further regulations or assistance. I anticipated a hefty bill and some condescending salesmanship, but instead was provided with a friendly environment and some sage advice. After my bike was finished up, my son and I perused the store and picked-up a few trinkets for his little balance bike. By the time we were done we had met all the current staff and and was actually dissuaded from a few purchases that they advised me I didnt yet need. My review... I dont know when Ill need to go back but they definitely earned my future business. This was a highly professional shop. Id recommend it to everybody.

These guys are not in it for the money. They truly have a passion for cycling and helping others enjoy it as well. I just went in to get a fork race changed out. They did it right away, threw in some spacers and some grease for a total of $10. Good luck finding service or value like that. Previously I brought my bike in to get a tune up and my brake pads replaced. I also knew that one of my chain rings had some bent teeth. I was expecting a hefty bill and to buy a new chain ring. They just took it off and straightened it and put on standard brake pads. They did not try to sell me on upgrades or stuff I didnt need. I very much appreciate the honesty and service. Well done!

If all businesses would adopt the values and professionalism of this shop then the experience of shopping would be so much better. I was treated with respect at all times and Howard and his staff had such a wealth of knowledge that it was a lot to take in at once. I am new to cycling and learned a lot while looking to purchase from them. Howard actually tried to talk me out of buying the more expensive bike in order to be matched with my Fiancé and her bike. This shop really has a passion for the sport and are more than happy to share knowledge. I would highly recommend this dealer to anyone looking.

What can you say bad about this place? Theyre attentive, not pushy, do good work, arent overpriced, and entertaining. Its refreshing to see a business so consumed with customer service. Ive gone into the shop with a problem and despite them being busy, they dropped what they were doing to help, all while continuing to help other customers. In addition to their knowledge of bicycling, I suspect Howard holds an honorary PhD in all things music. The man is a walking encyclopedia. Like other reviewers, this bike shop isnt the closest to my house, but its the best Ive found in SA.

These guys are great. I have been a few times and every time I go the are great. I am new to Mountian biking and San Antonio, they have help me with my bike and showing me some places to ride. Today I showed up at 1100 with 2 broken spokes and asked if they could possible get it fixed today and how long it would take because I had work at 2. They fixed the spokes and did a quick tune up while I waited. Not saying they can always do that but they seem to go out of the way for me and ever customer I have seen walk in the door. I will always go back for my back needs.

Went into Action Bikes to look for a new Mountain Bike. I was immediately greeted with a kind hello and was asked if I needed any help. I explained my situation and was showed some of the best customer service I have seen in a long time. I wasnt planning on purchasing on this day but because of the great service I almost did. I can say that I plan on purchasing a bike within the next month and I will for sure be purchasing my bike from this store . I am a small business owner myself and it pleases me to see this level of customer service... A++++

I cant say enough good things about this place. They are amazing! I brought my beat up bike in for a tune up and other repairs, and I didnt even recognize it when I came to pick it up because they detail cleaned it and did such an amazing job. I was greeted outside as I was getting my bike, and they actually helped get my bike off/on my rack. That was really appreciated as I had my one year old son with me. If youre looking for a professional, friendly, energetic, and knowledgable bike shop, this is the place for you!

Both of my Fuji bikes that I bought from Action Bikes two years ago were stolen by thieves with bolt cutters, right off the back of my RV in the middle of the night, Saturday. I went to Action Bikes and spoke with Howard and Jared today, and they made me a deal on two new Fuji bikes that I couldnt have gotten anywhere else in San Antonio. You should trust these guys. Its a great Bike Shop. Howard is the owner. He and the rest of the guys are pros all the way. I highly recommend this bike shop over all others.

I stopped by a few weeks ago to see if I can steal a box or two to ship a bicycle. While passing through, I spoke with the owner and asked how much theyd charge me to true a set of bmx wheels. I thought the price was fair, and when I came back to pick them up it wound up being even cheaper. They under promised and over delivered. We even shot the breeze for a few minutes. If youre looking for bmx especially, this is the spot! It seems that they sell just about everything bicycle related.
