THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS HORRIBLE! DONT TRUST THEM!!! I took my car there because the check engine light came on. They did a diagnostic check and said that my air/fuel ratio sensor was on. The service rep recommended that I get the problem fixed and also to do the fuel injection service to remedy the problem. They also made some additional preventative maintenance suggestions (none of which had anything to do with the check engine light being on). So I did what was suggested to remedy my immediate problem. The same day I got my car back I experienced problems with the car shutting off and stuttering. I took the car back to them and they said that they could not duplicate the problem so they returned the car back to me. Two weeks later my check engine light came back on! I had difficulty getting my original service rep on the phone because every time I called he was on the phone, out to lunch, not in for the day, leave a voicemail (with no call back) etc, etc. When I finally got him on the phone he told me to bring the car in and speak to another rep because he was going on vacation. However he emphasized that the check engine light is back on because there could be another problem with the engine. When I went there on Monday I spoke with another rep, he attempted to charge me for another diagnostic. I protested and he didnt charge me. They proceed to diagnose the car and tell me that they found a dtc code p0420 & catalytic converter bank-1 that is the problem & the cost about $900 to repair! I was very upset because there was only 2 weeks between the time that I got the car repaired originally and the second time that the light came on. So from my perspective I could not see how this problem was not mentioned in my original diagnoses (which by the way costed me $550)! When I tried to explain my position to the rep he begins to tell me a story about a car he bought his girlfriend that was having problems & blah blah blah (his story was totally irrelevant). But I suppose he was trying to make me believe that he was looking out for my best interest because according to him he was recommending the cheaper of the service because if my check engine light came back on again after this $900 repair then I would have to change the rear catalytic converter which would cost about $2000! My main frustration is not just the cost but the fact that they did not, in my opinion, diagnose the problem correctly the first time which costed me a pretty penny and they are now telling me that they are going to attempt to remedy the problem with an additional costly repair and if all of that doesnt work then I would need to replace the cat converter! The total cost can be well over $3500 with taxes and labor. So if you are like me your time is money and your money is short do not go to New Rochelle Toyota!

These guys are the same who play con-games in the Bronx. Two incidents: First, January 2009. Bought a new Camry....Price was very aggressive. Part of the package included $500 in a gas coupon. After I bought the car, found out the gas coupon was part of an "incentive" program. You had to buy $100 in a particular gas every month. You then took your receipts, malied them in and was to receive a $25 gift card in return. This went on for 24 mos for a total of $500. Problem was, the incentive company went bankrupt, out of business. New Rochelle Toyota responded by offering customers enrollment in a second gas rebate incentive program...this time "worth" $600 The second company declared bankruptcy in Dec 2009. One year after I purchased my car, I have received $0 on the gas coupon promised by New Rochelle Toyota. Calls to my salesman Richard M and customer service rep Millie have been ignored. Calls to David Drury at Toyota Corp in California resulted in an "internal" investigaton of New Rochelle Toyotas "business practices." Issue 2: My Mom tried to purchase a new Toyota in October 2009. Price on the car changed FIVE TIMES. Each time, the price was "final." FIVE FINAL PRICES. Bought a car at New Rochelle Honda instead. When my mother asked for her $500 deposit back, New Rochelle Toyota kept her waiting for 3 weeks. When I visited the showroom to inquire on her "refundable" deposit, I was told by a business manager "leave our showroom or you will be arrested." These folks are so poor, will never purcahse another car from the again. BEWARE Update Jan 8, 2010 - Toyota Corp in Torrance CA verified that New Rochelle Toyota has been OVERCHARGING its customers regarding optional service plans offered to customers who purchase new cars. "We are handling this internally," is all a Toyota Company exec would say. In lieu of the defunct $500 gas coupon, New Rochelle Toyota offered two new "promotional" options: 1. a GPS device with a retail value of $125 2. or a auto service plan through Toyota Financial which Toyota says is worth $350. The New Rochelle dealer says it sells for $500 I refused both and am consulting with my attorney on legal action. Solution: Any existing New Rochelle Toyota customer with problems should call Toyotas Corp Customer Service nation-wide 800 phone number to complain.

I saw a certified 2009 RAV4 for 10K miles base model on their website for $16.5K. I called on a Saturday afternoon to confirm it was still there; which they claimed it was. The woman on the phone claimed she had a different price on her screen but said if we printed it out they would honor it. I drove from New Brunswick, New Jersey to New Rochelle, NY (~50 mi.) on Sunday to see the car (NJ dealers are closed on Sunday). When I arrived they could not locate the car and claimed it was sold the day before. So in less than 24 hours the car was sold and driven off the lot; along with 40 other cars according to the salesmen. The salesmen also claimed the reason it was so cheap was due to it being 2WD. He must have been unaware of the smart phones because we looked it up on the spot and showed him it was listed as 4WD; the car they allegedly sold was still listed on their online inventory. He attempted to sell us other RAV4s with a higher price & higher mileage. When I explained to him that we wanted 4WD, 4 cylinders, & <30K miles for the price listed for the car we came to see he talked to his manager. They then showed us an alleged 2010 demo car with 3000 miles, but it had a major cosmetic defect on the rear bumper (It looked like someone slapped on Bondo without sanding it and coating it with touch-up paint). The manager & salesmen both claimed due to our inconvenience they would give us a good deal. After the test drive we sat down to discuss cost. The "good deal" we were offered was about $18.7K; about $900 less than the quote on Edmunds, $19.6K. They claimed the actual cost was over $20K. The salesmen attempted to justify the difference in cost ($2200) between the car we came to see ($16.5K) & the one they were trying to sell us ($18.7) was due to the low mileage (~7K miles) and being newer by 1 year. Yet Edmunds shows a difference between a certified 2010 with 3000 miles ($19.6K) & a 2009 with 10,000 miles ($18.7K) to be $900. Overall it was a very bad experience & a waste of a few hours. We left & went to New Rochelle Honda where we purchased a 2009 CRV with 29,000 miles for $16.5K as it was listed; Edmunds values at $17,880.
