High quality furnishings at a Great price! by patty.b.pasko on 10/05/2013 After shopping around at the area furniture stores and getting the runaround I went into Almost Below Cost. I told the salesman what I was looking for. Without being pushy he went out of his way to help me find exactly what I explained. I was able to find what I wanted in one of their catalogs and was given a price. The price of the total living room set was so much less than the other stores and the quality was so much better. And best of all it was made in the USA! I was told how long it would take and that they would call me when the furniture came in and set up a delivery date. Keeping their word I did get the call and a delivery date was set. When my furniture came it was exactly what I had ordered and is beautiful as I had hoped it would be. I am so happy with the experience that I had at the store I would recommend that anyone who is out in the market looking for quality furniture at a very very reasonable price should definitely go in and talk to Ron or Joe at Almost Below Cost. Terrible experience! Both pieces I ordered came in damaged and the sales guy, Joe, acted like it was no big deal. I had just dished out several hundred dollars in cash for NEW furniture and he acted like scratches on my brand new footboard was nothing? Terrible customer service not only on his end, but with our original sales guy Ron as well. With our initial visit Ron gave me a great price on a box spring, when he went to write my order up and I seen the receipt I realized he charged me more, he then argued that he never told me the other price (which my mother was with me and heard him state as well so I know I didnt mishear him). I should have walked out the door then! I dont find them to be the honest people they kept claiming to be...Chances are if your sales representative has to point out that they are honest they most likely are not. Luckily I was able to get a full refund and have taken my business elsewhere.

I wouldnt buy anything from this store. You walk in and it reeks of cigarette smoke. We walked in an an older man came out from the back of the store we told him we were looking for a vanity for my young daughter ,who was also there . He wouldnt leave us alone he kept talking and following us. He showed us a catalog and we asked him if we could please have some time to look at it . He had been hovering over us. He stunk of cigarette smoke .Hes bizarre behavior was totally inappropriate .When we did ask him a price he snapped suddenly became angry and slammed the catalog and said " Get out of here and buy it somewhere else" ! I would like to thank him we went down the street to Raymond and Flanigan where we purchased a beautiful , quality well made bedroom set for a terrific price for my daughter. The salesperson was professional and courteous.

I stopped by a year ago to window shop. to my surprise this store had some nice stuff. all American made goods great prices. our sales person joe v & ron .showed us around the huge show room.after the grand tour . we sat on a very comfortable couch and chated to find out joe came from the same town we live in hudson county. so we told joe we will be back like many people tell him. we did return to buy a living room set a couch & love seat . and joe remembered us by first names. we made.the deal it was smooth and the price was great .we got American made quality not box store imported junk . it was like shopping in the mom &pop stores of the50s &60s the people who made America great. thank you guys bill& Barbara " bayonne

Friend of mine was looking for a recliner and this was the third place we went to .From the outside the place does look a little small and like its a thrift store but I told my friend to check it out anyways. She told me she found a leather recliner for $560 the guy was giving it to her for $320 plus tax and delivery. It was delivered that day actually within 30minutes. My mother is a decorator she works for high end clients and works with lower budgeted clients shes been in this place for a wooden piece and had a great experience also. Joe & Ron were very straight forward and happy to help. Also if your looking for beds dont go to SLEEPYS. Try this place first. We will be back.

Went to the store and spoke with Ron. He showed me exactly what I went looking for, which was a beautiful bedroom set and mattress. I decided on which set I wanted to take home and set up the date when everything was going to be delivered. Everything was delivered and set up on the exact date. Great service and store. Saw the other bad reviews after I made my purchase and I was actually a bit in doubt about my purchase thanks to those reviews, but now I see that the other reviewers were either crazy, wayyy to picky or just plain dumb. The furniture is definitely high quality and sturdy. Thanks Ron, Ill definitely be back for the next time I need some furniture.

Do NOT purchase from here!! Save yourself the trouble and hassle and spend a few more dollars. We went in to buy baby furniture 8 weeks prior to the due date. Once we placed our order the sales person George told us it would take only 4 weeks for our crib and changing table to come in. This was a huge factor on why we purchased at this location. Two weeks later we received a phone call from the furniture company not the store that our items were on back order and it would be another 4 weeks until it came in. It has been 8 weeks and 3 days until the due and and we have yet to receive our furniture. Save your time and pass this place horrible experience!

Just recently purchased a 5 piece bedroom set for my 10 year old daughter. The guys were so nice and gave me the best deal. 5 pieces for under 1k (including tax & delivery) is a steal. I was able to pay a little at a time which was a big help. The delivery men were professional and finished so quickly. By the time I sat down, they were done. Ill definitely go there when I redo my own rooom...

I was very pleasantly surprised. The front of the store is not the most attractive. However, the furniture is high quality and at a great cost. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly. The delivery and installation was great. Would definitely by here again.
