Awful Experience! We called Value City to get a quote for a dining set and were told that everyone was sooooo busy and that we should leave our name and number to get a call back when things calmed down. No one called, so a couple of hours later, we called again and got the same story with the added fact that they cant supply quotes over the phone. So after asking to speak to a manager, we finally got the quote and drove 40 min to the store. When we arrived, it wasnt busy at all, figures. After haggling for a little, we special ordered the dining set ($2600). The next day we got a call from another furniture shop who honestly told us that we shouldnt order that set since the company is not very good and that the set is not worth the price AT ALL. Wouldve been nice if Value City let us in on that little tidbit. Since we have 3 days to cancel, we called immediately to cancel and were told that the manager wasnt in and we would have to do it the next day. We called before going over to see if it could be done over the phone, the salesman rudely said "Maam, didnt I tell you that this would be taken care of today?", we said we were just checking in on the process and he responded with "Maam I told you you would have to come in so we could swipe your credit card". Ummmm no you didnt!!! All Im hoping for at this point is to get my full refund and NOT get store credit.

This company is nothing but a nightmare to deal with. Ive had good experiences from other locations of vcf but the green brook NJ location are the most incompetent and rude people in the world. We ordered 2 sofas from them after being promised that delivery would be able to come on a Wednesday we later found that they wouldnt be able to come until Saturday. Nbd really. Except Saturday they get here and BOTH sofas are slashed multiple times with a box cutter. We have company coming over for my 8 month pregnant wifes birthday the next day and vcf doesnt give a crap that we have no furniture in our living room because they cant get a simple delivery right. Then we call to find out when they would be able to deliver the items again and they were unable to give us a delivery date but assured us somebody would call us in the next week to let us know. Funny how when you buy something in the store they can set up delivery for you and let you know when is coming there on the spot.. but if they competent screw up a delivery they make you wait a week to find out your delivery date? Horrible horrible business and terrible at trying to resolve issues and customer complaints. I wish 0 stars were an option and even that would be an overstatement

Where do I begin? The 4 hour delivery window was given and then there was an "accident" so that became a 9 hours delivery window in which I had to wait at home. Our dining room table was damaged. The china cabinet didnt come since it was badly damaged (too damaged to pass off as okay I suppose). They sent a 3rd party repair person to fix table a few days later. The repair person was honest (thankfully) and said he could repair it but it wouldnt be perfect. I sent him away and demanded a new table. They came a week later with my china cabinet which was fine. They also took the table after some confusion. (They were told the table was being repaired, no one told them it needed to be replaced.) When I said what was happening they then took the table away and said Id be called when new one would come. No one ever called so I called the store Monday and they said theyd come today. They show up today with a table and no base to the table!!! So now I have to wait again. I called to complain and was offered a gift card. WHY WOULD I WANT TO BUY MORE STUFF FROM YOU WITH A GIFT CARD when your service has been complete CRAP? AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS EVERYONE! You will regret it!

Never again. I bought a chair and selected a fabric from the swatches in the store. Chair took 6 weeks to get and when it arrived it wasnt the fabric I ordered even though the receipt said it was. I called the store & brought the cushion in to show them. They told me they would follow up with me after talking to the manufacturer. I called at least 2 times a week because I never heard from them. After constantly being told they were still waiting for direction from a manager, after 3 weeks someone just ordered me a new chair (without telling me). I found out a new chair was ordered because I called for the 7th time asking for an update...the new chair was going to take another couple weeks yet they still had no idea if the manufacturer even had the fabric I originally picked. The chair was $650- I either wanted what I ordered and delivered right OR just forget it. At this point, I gave up. Now Im waiting for them to pick up this chair I did not order and get a refund. Im sure this will take another couple weeks.

I bought a leather recliner as part of a set. I bought the insurance. The top of the chair where you put your head back has developed holes repeatedly during the two years we have owned it. We have had the chair fixed at least three times. One of the repairmen told me the chairs are known to be defective and Value City is constantly fixing them. Today, the rep at Value City told us that despite the fact we bought the insurance that was supposedly good no matter what the cause of damage, that our claim was denied because we didnt report it soon enough after discovering it. I am going to let everyone I know on all of my social media vehicles to never buy from Value City Furniture. After spending literally $10 thousand at the Greenbrook, NJ store, and just getting ready to shop for a new bedroom set for my son, I can honestly say I will never purchase anything from this store ever again. I have no use for a brand or a corporation that doesnt honor paid-for insurance.

HORRIBLE!!! These people are the biggest furniture scammers in business. My wife and I ordered a new bedroom set and mattress which we were told would be delivered on a Friday only to get a phone call the day before that we wouldnt receive the furniture until Saturday. Truck arrives Saturday and the dresser has a large scratch in the front and after further investigation we realize the set was a floor model that the store was trying to pawn off on us as brand new. I immediately declined the delivery called the store and was told they were just going to loan us the set since ours is on back order. Really now they insulted my intelligence by feeding me this BS. Needless to say we declined the delivery and are in the process of requesting a full refund. We would much rather spend more money on furniture from a reputable establishment that gives customers new furniture and delivers said furniture on schedule.

at time of purchase we were told any future coupons, deals etc would be honored if furniture was not yet delivered...received a coupon a few days after purchase & went to the store for the price adjustment. the manager, mike roseberg was simply rude. told me i got better deals with my purchase the other day & basically refused the friends & family coupon! spent over $5300.00 at this place & would have cancelled the order if it wasnt for my elderly mother! mike "the manager" then went to the back room to chat with other sales people & stated "yeah....shes probably looking for a deal on her summer home!" while he made assumptions he was discussing my mothers home address (which is toms river). i waited for this "manager" to come back on the sales floor to discuss his unprofessional ways...he clearly had nothing to say as he was totally wrong! calling corporate on monday!
