Pet City Pets has always been worse than a dump. I have lived here for 30 years and if I had of thought I would have kept a record of the filth that I have witnessed every time I had gone in there. I have kept small animals before and when I bedded them I used shavings of one sort or the other and when I first went in there all of the rodents were in 2" of feces and the place reeked of urine. That was years ago and since then I decided that I would go in there just to keep track of the conditions and every time it has been filthy with some form of feces and urine. The store always stinks and is just plain nasty. It is a little store and it is a very old store and the people that own it are just trying to make a living but off the people in that community. That is wrong. The community has been struggling for years and they tell you that their puppies come from local breeders. That is not completely the truth. They do have people that are breeding those puppies for them. And those places are as filthy as the store. They also purchase some of their puppies from those horrendously abusive Puppy Mills where the adult dogs live in conditions that a rat wouldnt find acceptable. Those adult puppy mill breeder dogs are suffering unimaginable torture every single day of their little lives. It is sickening. It upsets me to think that this man Stewart who owns the store would think that selling these puppies from these abused breeder dogs is fine and to his customers that he is so dedicated to that he will match them up with the right puppy? Yeah right. The only thing that he is interested in is making money. And he is doing that. Off of those unsuspecting people who go into his store looking to add a cute member to their family in the form of a breathing living creature being a puppy. This is still not right. These people dont know where these puppies are coming from. He tells them from local breeders. What they do not know is the torture that the parent dogs are going through in order for him to make that special match for your family. A lot of people do not realize what Puppy Mills are and of course the store owners are not going to tell you the truth. It is all about the money. I would think that after all of these many years anyone with a good heart would get tired of lying to those friendly community people who trust him for being the nice guy that they think he is. How can anyone go to bed at night knowing how many people they have taken advantage of just to make a few dollars. And then to think of the conditions that those breeder dogs are suffering through just to provide him to sell in his store those dear sweet family type puppies. I dont understand how anyone can run their business and thus their life knowing that they have taken advantage of the community that his stores are in. I just dont understand how anyone can be as heartless as this man is. Or anyone that purchases puppy mill puppies.

I unfortunately convinced myself that even after witnessing the conditions of this absolute dump, that buying a puppy from them, sick or not, would be better than allowing any of these dogs to sit there any longer. I went in there once, and saw this tiny chihuahua behind a dingy window that was covered in feces. She pawed at me fingers as I tapped on the glass. I was in love!!! My boyfriend was absolutely against it due to the conditions of the puppy mill. When walking into the place, you are immediately overwhelmed by a strong smell of urine and feces. When going into pet stores, you expect smells, but none match this. Their stock is old, USED and covered in dirt and dust. The staff looks like they resembled the cast of Deliverance. Theyre uneducated and offer NO proper information on dogs. Theyre just taught to say "oh yeah, this dog wont get big". If you ask anything on the breed, theyre absolutely clueless. Oh and their "play pen" outside, is a 12 x 12 area outside where they leave a group of dogs all day....when they dont have them peeing and pooping all over the floor inside. Anyway, I still convinced myself I had to get this puppy out of there. So we bought her. She was ridiculously over priced considering she had PNEUMONIA AND KENNEL COUGH. When we called after vet bills racked up (xrays, shots, medicines) they refused to help us and would not take any responsibilty. We threatened them with the law, and just about everything we could think of. Still, they told us tough luck. The woman even tried to tell us we got our dog sick...even though the vet told TWO DAYS after we got her she had been sick for awhile. Oh and if you want to talk to the owner, FORGET ABOUT IT. He will refuse to talk to you, give you your money back, or pay for anything besides a puppy asprin (they try to tell you that they help if any problems arise) These people are disgusting and shouldnt be allowed near ANY animal let alone allowed to have a business. They need to be shut down. If you are buying one of their dogs from another state, please first ask yourself who would ship a dog to you, then please take the time to actually go to the shop. You will be horrified. Nothing Ive said is an exaggeration. I have pictures to prove it. Please email me if you would like them. I wish I could get all the puppies there, out, and into safe homes. But until now Im on board with helping shut this place down. FOR GOOD and to get these inbred, ignorant and cruel....things....away from animals.

Awesome people, awesome pets!!! We recently purchased a puppy from Pet City Pets, and I must say that I am very impressed with the service we have received from the staff. The store owner, Stu, is a great guy and a fantastic businessman. The employees Steve and Meghan are very knowledgeable people, and they have been so wonderful to us from the very beginning. When we purchased our "little one," Meg helped us tremendously by giving us a lot of helpful tips on taking care of our new puppy, Molly. I think its pretty amazing that they even called to check on Molly a couple of days after we purchased her, just to make sure that she was doing good. That is excellent customer service! I understand that some people tend to judge a book by its cover, but I wish people wouldnt be so narrow-minded and harsh as far as giving unneccessary negative feedback about this store and the people who work there. Yes, the building is old, but it is not bad as some people make it sound. Show me a pet store that is a hundred percent spotless and smells like roses and Ill give you a million dollars! Come on, people! They have a lot of good stuff and a huge variety of pets. They even have reasonable prices! The staff are very honest and personable, and they are amazing with the animals. I have witnessed myself how much they care for the pets in the store and its great! I must say that I love this place and I sure love the people who work there. They are very pleasant and they make us feel very welcome every time we go there. They also have a grooming saloon next to the pet store, and Annette is pretty amazing! I will continue to shop here and I think people should give it a shot, too.
