First, I will say I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. I dont usually write reviews but after what happened to me with this dealership I have to. Here is what happened. I called about a vehicle I saw on Car Gurus at their dealership. It was just posted on the site that day or the previous. They hadnt even detailed it yet, only had 3 pics of the outside of the vehicle. When I called the salesman said it was in the process of detailing. I wanted this car so bad I asked that day if I could put a deposit down on it so it could be held. He told me his manager said they didnt have the title and once it comes in I could put a deposit down. He told me it was coming in about 10 days. I had a car I wanted to trade in and because I live pretty far from the dealership I sent them about 10-12 pics of my trade the next day. The salesman said he gave the pics to his manager to look over for an appraisal. He told me not to worry the car wont be sold on me because they didnt even have the title yet and me going through the trouble of sending pics of my trade showed I was serious. I told them I was put a deposit down about 3 different times in 2 days, I wanted this car! I followed up with the salesman on saturday 4 days after the initial inquiry and I never got a response. I didnt think much of it. I didnt follow up on Monday because I was already bothering him everyday since Wed. I figured its only been 5 days for the title to come in everything should be fine. Well today comes (Tues) and I dont see the car on their website anymore. I try to get a hold of the salesman I was working with and got NOTHING. So I called and spoke to another salesman and he says the car was sold a couple of days ago!!! He offered me a different vehicle $9K more than the one I was interested in. I could not believe it!! I have text messages from the salesman assuring me the car wont be sold. BULL CRAP!!! Never would I work with this dealer again, UNBELIEVABLE!

My husband and I were considering buying a 4 x 4 vehicle in time for the winter, and received a letter from Williams indicating that we had been pre-approved for a certain amount at a certain rate. My husband decided to go check it out. That letter was whisked away - we never saw it again. He ended up finding a vehicle that looked interesting, so we packed our two kids under the age of 2 up and headed to the dealership. We spent the next 2 hours there - looking at a particular vehicle, talking about financing, and ultimately deciding to go with it. There were several factors that the saleswoman and the finance department threw out that enticed us to purchase the car on the spot. We were told "our" car was in the car wash, getting prepped, we could drive it home tonight... I cleaned out my car which we were trading in. Only to find out a half out later when we had pushed back a meeting and canceled another commitment that we wouldnt find out about financing until "first thing in the morning." The next day, when we hadnt heard anything by 10 AM, I called, but was told they hadnt heard anything. My husband then got two calls from different people with conflicting reports - 1) we need more information from you, Ill call you RIGHT BACK (we havent heard from her since) and 2) we cant do anything more for you. If it wasnt going to work for us, that wasnt a problem. We would have appreciated the courtesy of a straight and honest answer from the get-go rather than dragging us along. We also wish they would not send misleading correspondence. The worst customer service I have ever experienced from any car dealership in other states or here in Traverse City.

I am not one to write bad reviews but I am very disappointed in our experience with William’s Chevrolet in Traverse City. We purchased a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with low millage in the summer of 2015. Immediately after we purchased the car they gave us one set of car keys and told us that they would mail us another set of keys, but they had to order them first. After a couple months without receiving the keys we suggested to the dealer that we would take the car into the shop, purchase the keys ourselves and send the dealer the receipt and they would pay us back. Once in the shop we learned that there were 3 different recalls that have been in place on the Jeep that were over 2 years old along with some very basic items that were very much in need of being addressed (flushing the transmission fluid). Overall the service call cost us over $1,000. The dealer who we went to where very surprised/embarrassed that another dealer would miss these major items and suggested I reach out to Williams to understand why our car was never serviced before being sold. After multiple emails and calls to our contact at Williams (Josh Thomas) – we have not heard back on the reimbursement on the keys or why/if the car had ever been looked at prior to selling it. No response at all… I would expect this level of service with a corner used car lot – not a licensed dealership. Very disappointed. I highly recommend getting any car purchased here checked out my a mechanic within the 1st month of purchasing as you cannot trust that it was served being being resold.

I hate williams chevrolet. weve bought 3 vehicles there and have had issues every time. i must be hard headed to keep making the same mistake over and over. the first was a brand new colorado. great truck, but it was like pulling teeth dealing with the wannabe smooth operating salesman. tried to bend me over at every turn. then the wife wanted a new cobalt. the salesman we had was great, but last i knew, does not work there anymore (go figure they chase the good ones out of there). we took it in to get a few things taken care of, but the incompetent service department never could get it right. our sunroof button still dangles because they couldnt fix it right. it looked real good until you actually pressed it. the final one was a used jeep. i was their best friend right up until i signed the papers. then i was some douchebag nuisance when i actually had them live up to their agreement. i still swear they did everything they could to screw me over, including leaving the keys in it, unlocked, overnight after they were done (never got a phone call to tell me they were done, BTW). actually, thats not entirely true. i showed up after work hoping to catch them to ask WTF, where i found my abandoned, unlocked, keys-in-it jeep waiting to get burgled. not wanting to leave my jeep like that, i stole it myself. that was the last straw for me. they can kiss my ass. ill drive across the state to get my next chevy/honda/kia.

This is my story. I bought a minivan on trade the first part of March, we dealt with Tim Edington, who, if hes still there is just shocking. Tim tells us on the phone a price of $16,896, "a good price". When we arrived the price rose $2000.00 once we walked in, small print on their online store stated pricing includes $2000.00 min trade in. So, be prepared to add money onto the sticker price. We didnt buy the van right then so we had to come back next week with some negotiating and taking a trade in from me we walked out with what we though was a price we agreed upon. Once I got was on vacation and looked over my purchase agreement I noticed a service charge for $2386.00, I called repeatedly, emailed trying to get someone to answer my calls, I got nothing. Tim was non-existent and his sales manager Andy Wichern finally called me back two days later. In the mean time I did a google search on Tim Edington & Traverse City, looking for reviews but I found a lot more, a certified sex offender who just got out of jail. THIS IS SICKENING! Knowing he has all my information, Williams is extremely lucky I didnt bring my kids in there. So I am still waiting for the service charge to come off a month later and all these good reviews below me are added by the company. Ask around like I have now, Williams is not the place to go. DO NOT GO THERE, FELLONS, SEX OFFENDERS & LIES ARE WHAT YOU WILL FIND.
