Hello everyone!! who is interested or is planning to buy some furniture for an apartment or a house. My husband & I are going to help you make a good choice before even walking in this store & probably other Room Place stores as well!!! Im not a scam or a customer whos interested in giving bad reviews, I will give you my story of my experience with the Downers Grove, IL store! Our family moved to a new apartment & we needed mostly everything brand new so we decided to take a look in our Willowbrook, IL neighborhood what places of furniture we can find. We stopped at Downers Grove,IL Room place store. At first when we walked in the store everyone in the store was quite nice & friendly that was an welcome pleasant surprise & probably was only reason Im giving this place one star!!! After taking a look at the furniture they had in the store we were helped by one sales man: Jose" hes the kind of person who wants the furniture to sell not even care if you like it or not!! Dont even think to apply for their credit card otherwise you will get a cake with surprises!! Your choice but my suggestion stay away from it!! Soo many hidden fees & doesnt matter what kind of plan you are going to choose from. Now Im going to have my story revealed to you so you can protect you & your family members from the delivery personal they hire to deliver your furniture if you made the decision to go for & buy it! Do you know who SEX OFFENDERS are ???? Yes thats corect if you follow me. Room place has a contract with a number of small subcontractors that will deliver your furniture. ROOM PLACE store dont CARE!!! who this people are and this people will come to your home or apartment to deliver your furniture & im sure they dont run a criminal background on them as well. 3 schedule delivery we had to deliver our furniture & on each one of them they were late more then one hour due to traffic or truck breakdowns etc etc... delivery CONTRACTORS always find excuses & also not to forget delivery wasnt Free!!! We payed for it! I was home alone because my husband had to return to work after they were late.. FINALLY when this two men showed up with our furniture I was surprised how they start talking to me like I was their friend not a customer.. Miss or Mam. Not an attitude of someone to deliver a customer service!! Then one of them started asking me if I live alone or with someone I said Im married & we live together. After delivering the furniture I asked them to leave but more questions stared to follow.. I felt intimidated & unsafe. Questions like would you like to go out sometimes have a drink together, things like your husband doesnt have to know everything. I said thank you could you please leave now!!!!! Man started touching me was next what happened then I called my husband told him what is going on & he said call the the police and that hes coming home right now!! By the time police arrived this two men left. We had a police report & also contacted the room place about it so we decided not to do anything at this time but we still will not forget what happened that day!!! So be safe out there dont trust Room Place they dont care who is walking in your home where your family is!!

purchased was made 5/31/17 At first i was going to write a great review. until after my purchase i was made aware of a lie. Jose/George was my sales associate and was helping us choose our new sofa and we also purchased the 5 year Guardian protection plan. while our sales associate was breaking down the pricing, he also mentioned that i would not have a payment for the month of June. that was it and we continued on about our day. now a few weeks have past and its now june 19th and i get a call from the room place stating my june payment was not made. Now i have a late fee asset to my account, that should have not been added in the first place. i called the credit company, they gave me the run arounds with saying they cant revers the late fee (they stated that it would have to be the room place that revers the late fee)...........and i also got the room place saying they cant revers the late fee, that it has to be from the creditors....... So then i call the room place again now for the 3rd time. At this time i talk to george to get things figured out. as he tries to explain things... he stops talking and transfers me to another co-worker named maria. who then explains to me that she will have a talk with her sales associate so that this does not happen again...... Im kinda frustrated at this point because she has yet to tell me how she is going to fix it. So all this for a simple reversal fee, that should have never been added in the first place. and Ive been with the room place for 3 years now. After this final purchase, trust and believe i will no longer purchase ANYTHING!!!! from this company again and i mean anything. even if you have no interest for 100 years i would still not come here, just for that reason. And the roomplace, if you plan to reply to my comment, please save the typing and just give me a call. Im sure you know what customer this is. due to the specific details.

Bought a sofa and loveseat from this location, We worked with Jose (Jorge) and as sales people go, I have to say that he was really good and is the reason I decided to write a review. He showed me a good selection of things that I was looking for, and was respectful of my decision to buy or not buy. He brought other sale specials to my attention but he didnt push the sale if it wasnt something that I interested in. After I had made my decision on what I wanted to buy, I asked him to show me some items that I wasnt going to buy that day but just wanted to get a quick look, and he took the same time and interest in showing me these items as if I was buying them that day. If I have more room in my house I know I would have bought more items, and when I am ready to buy furniture again I will definitely go back to him. Additionally, I saw some very good deals on furniture and many many great ideas at this place. There were tons of unique items and in comparison to other furniture stores the Room Place was very competitively priced. My sofas arrived a couple days ago and they are very comfortable (not cheaply made at all). Delivery went smoothly and movers were friendly and professional. The whole transaction went great. Note for furniture buyers: One thing to keep in mind when you buy furniture (and this goes for any furniture place that I have ever bought from in the past 20 years), is that when you look at the price of an item, keep in mind the fact that there are also charges for taxes, delivery, warranties and even extras like cleaning kits which will increase the final price. Sometimes, buyers find this discouraging but when you go in knowing about these fees, you can make a purchase that fits your budget. All in all, my experience here was great and I am sure I will return to this Room Place location to make my next furniture purchase.
