My son and I went there last Friday. After loading up we drove 3minutes home he helped me put the grossories away. Later that night I went to the fridge and I smelt something funny. I looked in and threw out a couple of things that smelled funny and went to bed the smell ruined my appetite. Next morning opened the fridge and bamb!!!! Nasty smell again. Now I throw everything away in the fridge and freezer except what I just purchased from stop shop Winchester ma the night before. Still not hungry. Saturday night 24 hrs after shopping I open the fridge and the smell is still horrible. I figured that I will have to clean the fridge and freezer out completely but I was starving!! So I pulled out the chicken I just purchased and the smell was getting worse and worse. I cut the wrapper off and the stench was so bad that I puked!! I cover my face and put 4 bags over it and now what to do with the rancid meat. Cant put it anywhere because the stench was so bad.im 50yesrs old and in all my years I have smelt this smell a couple of times and its been a dead animal that has been left out. I figured to just freeze it until my son can get me back to the store. So Ive got no food and a fridge that will have to be sterilized or thrown away just like all the regular good food I threw out. I got to the store and asked for the big cheese, the boss. and i told her everything I just explained. I spent$130 bucks that day, showed her my receipt and asked for a credit of $200.00. I still wasnt ready to buy food cause I have to sterilize the fridge. She said that I left it in the car too long and that she will refund the cost of the chicken!!! Nice place to shop. When I voiced my opinions she had her lack call the police and the guy just smiled at me all the way to my sons truck. Im going back today and hopefully there is a reasonable manager on staff. I will video the whole thing this time.

ok so 1st off this is a store that has been through ALOT in the last 10 years many things have changed recently, they renovated everything slightly improved the parking ( its not as bad as it was trust me more managable now) and prices have even improved this place is KNOWN in the area for its notorious HIGH prices like seriously THE most expensive in the Greater Boston Area, they have more sales now selections & aisles are more wider ( this was a big problem here hardly room for a carrige to pass through) people need to understand that this is very small location so its obvious that there will be less at what you find elsewhere but you can still get all of your basics its there! just look more carefully. its not their fault they wanted to expand but theres not much land so what you see is what you get. most of the staff now is new and more better the people who here before sucked and alot of them were rude ( not saying their good now their ok but you will see the difference) i know its stop and shop and everythings still high but it will take you a while to get used to its not as bad as it was try it out i think more people like it now than then, im just a 20 min walk / less than 5 drive so i frequent here alot and i see how much has changed its been through hell and back but def now its improved believe me!

I am not much of a Stop and Shopper when it comes to grocery, but I must recommend their bakery. They have done an excellent job with the birthday cakes that I have ordered over the past years. The cake is moist and delicious. I have made all sorts of decoration requests and they always get it right. One year it was a Dora and Diego combo, this year I gave them a table cloth picture for my party theme and they came back with the most adorable cake for my baby. I did an eleventh hour cake request - more like 5 in the morning and they decorated the cake from my description on the phone!!

A convenient neighborhood supermarket meets the needs of the Winchester area. Albeit it is smaller than other Stop & Shops, it still offers a decent variety of products. What I like about Stop & Shop is that they have a strong store brand and strong specials in their natural foods department, but other stores like Shaws, Market Basket, and even Hannaford doesnt excel on as much. Prices for those who stock up when stuff is on sale average out to be lower than other stores.

I usually shop in North Reading and when the attendants there are not busy they help bag the groceries. I just shopped the Winchester store and the attendant was not busy at all but never attempted to help anyone. I informed her that the tape was turning red and her response was Im getting to it. I know we all have moods but in a customer service role a little politeness and friendliness would be appreciated. The seafood Dept clerk was very friendly and helpful.

Stop&Shops employees are amazing. Im an employee there part time and I already feel like Im part of an awesome team. They are willing to help me assist a customer when Im stuck. I believe that I picked the best grocery store to work for. Winchester is really lucky to have such a wonderful place like Stop&Shop.

Its a decent place. I work nearby and went there just to pick up some things. Nothing particularly noteworthy or offensive about the place. It is bigger than your standard stop and shop which made navigating more pleasant.

Ill pick their frosted yellow cake over almost any other bakerys. The baked chickens are delicious. And I like being able to scan and pack bags as I shop, so checkout is a breeze and everything is ready for transport.

Since the overhaul nearly a year ago, a lot of the products I frequently purchased are no longer available. Forget asking them to carry a specific item. Theyll never get it in stock. "My Stop & Shop" is now Wegmans.

Your standard neighborhood supermarket. Nothing wrong with the location, it is just on the smaller side and a little dated. Ive been to other locations that had better selections and have a better look.

This isnt your normal Stop and Shop. Im always surprised by the niche and higher end products carrier at this specific location. Then again, this is the Stop and Shop for Winchester.

Go at night when its not crowded. Otherwise, its packed and frustrating. Lots of self check lines which is nice.
