Stop and Shop in Brighton is a large supermarket with all the items Id expect to find, laid out in a pretty logical way. They have a small bank and Dunkin Donuts within the store for one stop shopping. If you are a bargain hunter, they have a pretty large reduced food section in the last isle (on the other side from the produce). This section features products which may be discontinued or dented. They also have a day old bread and bakery item section. The staff are generally pretty friendly and helpful, however I have to take two stars off because of their continual lack of staffing the registers. Any time there is a large sports game or holiday, the store gets very busy, but they only staff a few human cashiers and even less baggers. They seem to strongly encourage the self checkout, which wouldnt be a problem except those machines are very error prone and typically require the help of the staff to override their errors. If they could just hire more register staff I would be a happy guy.

I have shopped at this particular Stop & Shop for many years. To be perfectly honest, I understand they are going through a major change, BUT, that should not affect the quality of customer service!! There are never enough registers open for the clientele!! And yes they have the Self Checkout registers which I use very often, sorry another but, its not worth it, always have to call a customer service person over to register for problems such as an item wont scan or item not found when using bar code, too many problems to address here. I love Stop & Shop, prices are significantly lower than competitors, they just need to hireore people, use your registers to full capacity!!!!! Have a Manager available at all times

Unfortunately, they advertise deals that are just fiction. I just have been there 15-plus times, as I work nearby, trying to get the so-called $5 meal; deal. You can supposedly get a small;sub, bottle of drink and chips for $5, but in reality, even with help from staff, the charge is always $8 or $9 or more. Staff will walk over to you confidently telling you that you have the wrong chips, wrong soda or whatever - thats EXACTLY what they did to me today but GUESS WHAT - They could not get the $5 deal working either so I just gave up. This is a straightforward rip-off, without a doubt, and they always assume 90-per cent of customers dont check, which I have not done until recently.

A good supermarket but has been in decline the last two years. This market used to be a real pit. Then, about 15 years ago, a new store manager took over and really cleaned up the store. Food quality up. Cleanliness up. Customer scams (fake slip & falls) down. Practicing pick pockets gone. It became a really good market. Lately, it has been showing signs of neglect. It is no where near the self-contained slum it once was but the finishing touches have become lax. Shelves not fronted, produce looking tired, carts collecting in the parking lot... Not horrible but all signs of neglect. They need to bring back the manager who held his stndards

This is one of the shabbier Stop & Shops in the Boston area, but you can usually overlook that for the prices. Its not as cheap as the suburban stores, but its about as good as it gets in the city. The quality of the merchandise is fine, but be ready for nothing but busted shopping carts (which litter the parking lot), narrow aisles packed with cardboard pop-up promotional stands that block access to merchandise, non-functioning self-scanner equipment, and slow/surly employees who love to complain to customers about how much they hate working there.

Salad bar is consistently low or out of food. There are never shopping baskets at the door. Theres 3 self check out lines that work while 3 remain out of service. They have replaced cashiers with kiosks. The result is backed up lines due to no baggers and technical issues with the kiosk. I was just there today and had to put my stuff down and walk out. I just wanted a salad and they cant keep something simple like the salad bar in order. Its very close to my job and apartment but inconvenient in every other way. Finally had it.

That store is full of uneducated employees that are lazy and dont know how to accomplish good customer service... Stop and Shop because of its union has to hold on to losers in their system. Can see why sales are so depleted and growth is only the grub that is growing on the walls and floors in that store.. The manager there now, I was told by my supervisors she doesnt know how to run a retail operation and it shows(she is only there because of a relationship she holds with upper exec -figures...)

Standard store. Well stocked most of the week. I think Sunday mornings produce was usually not so good but great the rest of the week. The staff is top shelf though. Honestly, every member Ive dealt with there is professional, helpful and on point. The whole crew should get rewards for putting up with Boston a***oles with such positive attitudes.

Plenty of parking, easygoing store. Equally staffed so you are able to come in to shop, get your deli meat/produce and be on your way. Most of the time I have waited in line less than 2 minutes before checking out which is nice. The store is clean, has good selection of organic produce at affordable prices. Theres also a Dunks inside (big plus).

The produce is never really stellar and often out of common items. Seafood department leaves much to be desired. Theres always a dreaded line even when theres no one in the store. Self checkout is impossible because theres always an issue and no one around to correct it with a manager login.

Very nicely run store! Good parking, large selection, Produce, Meat, and Deli very well run. Not quite as beautiful as Whole Foods, but overall shopping experience is more enjoyable, for a lot less money. They need to lend some of their expertise to the sister store B Fresh

Love the sales and coupons I get by mail. Spent about $200, saved over$40. They have a good variety of fruits and veggies, gluten-free foods, and other products, but stock gets low on some things by the time I get there, usually around 10 pm. Still my favorite supermarket.

Its a basic grocery store. But its huge and has a LOT of specialty items like a large selection of organic, vegan, and gluten free. Im like many millennials in that I flirt with being vegan, so its nice to have all that stuff in one store so I can see what my options are.

Its a fine supermarket, but no fresh fish counter (what?) and lately, their hand-held scanners are broken as often as not. I still use this as my main store, but the Star Market on Western Ave has fresh fish although overall a somewhat smaller selection.

Hidden behind the New Balance office campus, it is a good neighborhood place to get food in Brighton. Make sure to note where it is on the map as it is hidden behind a few other commercial properties. Looking for Kombucha? Most of these stores have it.

This is a great stop and shop. They have a huge produce section, big deli, and a meat section that will have what you need and more. They also have 2 Redboxes at this location as well as a Citizens Bank and a Dunkin Doughnuts. Its a one stop shop.
