My experience thus far with this store has been terrible. Were building a new house and have been buying some items at Lowes and others at Home Depot due to availability. We attempted to order a chandelier that was an online order in-store so we could get our 10% military discount and the store was "unable to help me." Seriously I just drove 45 minutes to your store and showed you my ID card in-person, but the store employee was unable to place the order. The manager was no help and basically blew me off. I had to call customer service to find out that Home Depot had temporarily stopped giving military discounts on online orders due to people taking advantage even if you ordered them in-person with a store employee. We’ve also been trying to get some installation service quotes to compare with other local hardware stores. It is not convenient for us to drive up there just to schedule a measure considering they just pass your info along to the installation company who then schedules the appointment. So Im forced to sit on the phone waiting for the different departments to answer. I was able to get a hold of the blinds department relatively easily and they took my credit card info over the phone to arrange for the install appointment. When I attempted to do the same for windows and doors, I spent several days on and off the phone just trying to get someone to answer the phone in that department, each time just giving up in frustration. When I finally could get someone on the phone, it was customer service who just keep transferring me back to the same department and did nothing to help me get a hold of anyone. I finally gave up and asked to speak to a manager who told me they don’t arrange for measurement appointments over the phone and that I had to come into the store. I explained to him I lived 45 minutes away and that the other department had happily taken my info for the appointment over the phone. He explained that was incorrect and they shouldn’t have done that. He offered the option of making the appointment online, but gave me no instructions on how to do it so I basically just gave up. Terrible customer service. Way too much time spent on the phone, on hold, with no way to speak to anyone unless they finally answer the phone (which is like 20% of the time), and unreliable information amongst employees and management. If I had other options I’d pursue them, but Home Depot is one of the only options available to our area.

Just moved to the Waldorf area and have always had a preference for Home Depot. However, the customer service at this specific location has been subpar at best. Stopped by this store twice for a quote on a special washer/dryer combo, only to be told that they couldnt order it but could see it on their website. The most egregious instance, finally I was given a quote (invoice) for the impossibly hard to find washer/dryer combo that I had been searching for. However, after "shopping around" with the competition, the original salesman (much older gentleman who turned out to may have been the manager) said that he wouldnt honor the invoice, which didnt have a expiration date with it. Just an emphatic & stubborn "No!" w/o any explanation. This combo cost nearly $4,000 and he was upset because I was shopping for the best deal I could find. And the attitude that he gave me when I returned, plus the fact that they treated me like a con artist when I asked for a price match w/ a competing store (even w/ a valid invoice from the other store)...no thanks. Well travel to Oxon Hill or Upper Marlboro, if we dont go to the local Lowes or Bray & Scarff. However, there was some good from this location. I met a Solar City rep there and sometime next year will be converting to all solar-powered electricity.

I just stopped in to check out ideas for flooring, tile, painting & redocorating period. Theoverall in-store staff was EXCELLENT with customer service. I finally decided to order the material... which has turned into a NIGHTMARE FROM HELL!! I waited 2 weeks for the order (since it was custom - thats understandable), but then it got damaged... I had to wait for them to reorder which caused a delay for install (cancellation #1). In the meantime, having to follow up and get a status regarding the special re-order has ALL been on me. If I wasnt calling... I would not know anything about my order and even worse, nothing would have happened regarding the re-order. So sad that the only service beyond the EXCELLENT in-store service (with Cornelius) has been with communicating to Managers (Cliff) and Assistant Managers (Phil). When they are not around, you are SOL!! Anywho... after almost another 2 weeks for waiting for the special re-order, I have to rate this with a 1 star because the customer service over the phone was soooooo horrible!! I guess its safe to say, when the Managers are away - the employees will play!!

Ive been going to Lowes for so long I almost forgot about their competitor Home Depot. But not any longer. This will now be my go-to store for home improvement(s). I enjoy that they have different tools and equipment for rent and Penske moving vehicles as well. Their customer service is stellar as well. I special ordered a desk online and had it delivered to Home Depot. When it was ready for pickup we went to the store to retrieve it. There was some confusion as to where the desk was actually located at in the store. Due to this disorientation we ended up waiting well over 30 minutes before they found the desk. I was upset, but because they recognized their mistake they gave me a $50 off coupon to use on my next visit (Lowes take note). Complex situations happen but its about rectifing said situation, which Home Depot did. Great customer service.

Renting a tool from this store has been a horrible experience. As a frequent renter from the Home Depot I cant even believe how I am being treated at this point. I had a tool returned the very next day by a friend. The equipment was checked in under the incorrect contract # and now the HD has put me in collections for equipment that was not returned. I have went to the store showed them the equipment, they have accepted that it was their fault and an error was made on their part but continue to pursue unpaid rental fees from me via a 3rd party collection firm that called me and treated me like a deadbeat. I am completely disturbed by this experience and this has affected my future business with this company.

We are in the process of remodeling our home. We went to Home Depot for items we needed. The first salesperson was unhelpful, it seemed she could careless about helping us, or let alone getting someone to help. One salesperson , Shantise was coming off break and offer to help us. Shantise went above and beyond !!! She helped us find All the items we needed. Great Customer Service !!! Shantise gets 5 stars from us !!! Can leave out Deven in paint and Tim helped us find the proper nails we needed !!! Need more people like Shantise, Deven, and Tim !!! These 3 Awesome people changed our mind about Home Depot; well be back !!!

Please find another location if you want to purchase blinds. The young lady asked if i needed help, then said Ill be right back when i put something down. She put something down at the desk near the carpet, then came back over to the blinds and preceeded to assist another customer, who just arrived. Needless to say Im still waiting, no assistance, and she is now cutting blinds for someone else. Ive been standing here for an hour, and no additional assistance. Do yourself a favor, use the extra 2O minutes and drive to another location. Its not worth it. I believe her name is Vanity.
